  1. Orange was the primary throughout the 80s, only changing back to blue once Spurrier arrived (since he wore blue jerseys as a player here). Since then, it's been a periodic alternate, usually worn against either Kentucky, LSU, or a cupcake OOC opponent. However, this year they're not scheduled to appear at all.
  2. Seems a player's leaked the existence of orange and black alternate helmets for Tennessee.
  3. I love it as a Reddick fan, but I hate what this most likely means for Kurt. He deserved a true farewell tour, or at least to go out on his own terms. Not like this.
  4. I think you're right. This is the castle at night: Pretty much a perfect match on the pattern. But then that raises the question, why go with such a muted and dull color scheme to reference something as bright and colorful as the castle? If they're going to do a Disney jersey may as well go all the way. Still can't find a match on the wordmark, though. Thought for a second Fantasyland or Frontierland might be it, but nope. Not Big Thunder Mountain or any other rides in the park either. It does look vaguely familiar, I just can't place it.
  5. The chainmail makes me think maybe they're going for a medieval knight thing? Because otherwise I have absolutely no idea what this is supposed to be referencing. Looks decent enough, I guess. At least from a distance they'll look like the Magic again and not some "what if Juice won the name the team contest" gray and orange team.
  6. Florida-Missouri looked great today.
  7. I've been wanting them to do this combo and get rid of the clownfish pants ever since they revealed the look... and now I see why they chose to have 2 different white pants. This doesn't work in practice nearly as well as it did in my head. Maybe with orange socks it'd be better?
  8. Texas gets a quality loss and jumps from NR to 21
  9. Yeah, it was harsh, but I guess that’s what happens when you post immediately after a disappointing loss. Cooler heads always prevail the next day, lol. The defense played pretty well in the first half before collapsing in the second, but you’re right about the offensive line. I’ve seen rumors that AR rolled his ankle early and that’s why he didn’t get many designed runs or read options, which if that’s true that changes a ton about both his play and the playcalling. It’s good that USF is next week to get back into rhythm before Tennessee. That should be a nice confidence boost for everyone.
  10. The only question now is if they wait until October 1st when his buyout cuts in half to fire him or not. I'll go with yes, but who knows, I wouldn't be surprised at all to wake up tomorrow to the news that he's done. Anyway, the Florida hype lasted all of one week. The entire team looked horrendous against Kentucky - Richardson, the defense, Napier, everyone. It's week 2 of a rebuilding year so obviously this doesn't really effect anything other than ESPN trying to hype up AR as a Heisman dark horse, but man I hate losing to Kentucky. 2-3 in the last 5 after winning 31 straight before that. That speaks more to the massive leaps UK's made over the last few years, but it still sucks.
  11. Texas looks empty without the shoulder numbers. I'm sure it's just a thing people will get used to, but I'm not a fan right now.
  12. WOW WHAT AN ENDING The death of college football in the state of Florida appears to have been greatly exaggerated
  13. I can't tell if the ACC sucks this year or if they're just willingly kneecapping their perception by playing at in state G5 teams. Probably the latter, but yeesh.
  14. The argument I've seen is that they effectively get a bye by not playing a CCG. Makes sense, and also gives just a tiny bit of extra push to join the Big Ten or ACC. This also might hold off super conferences for a little longer. Oregon and Washington have a much easier path to the playoffs if they stay in the Pac-1X than moving with USCLA to the Big Ten, as does Clemson in the ACC. I know it's more about TV money than it is competitiveness, but might give incentive to stay put at least until the next round of realignment in a decade.
  15. So Notre Dame won't be able to get a first round bye. Interesting. Overall I like it. Winning your conference arguably means more now than it did before, on campus games are great, and more games will matter later into the season. Right now, #10 vs #12 on week 11 doesn't really mean anything in the championship picture, as neither will be able to climb into the top 4 and make the playoffs without significant chaos ahead of them. Now, that'd basically be a play in game. Another added bonus is that the at larges left out can't really complain either. Don't like being #13, [insert team here]? Should've won your conference. Shouldn't have lost that game to [insert other team here]. But most importantly, every single team, Alabama to UTEP, Ohio State to Georgia Southern, USC to Buffalo, will be able to enter the season knowing exactly what they need to do to make the playoffs. Win out, win your conference, and you'll get your shot. That's how it is in literally every other division of NCAA football, and now it will be at the top as well.
  16. Florida’s jersey schedule. Napier went traditional at ULL and will again here - exclusively orange helmet, no orange jersey, and only deviating from orange/blue/white and orange/white/blue three times over the course of the season. I’m glad about the helmet, but I wish we could’ve done orange/blue/orange and orange/orange/white once this year. Plus there’s no throwback for homecoming weekend, which was a staple of the Mullen years.
  17. Both Northwestern and Nebraska would look better with pants stripes, but still a great looking game.
  18. I'd prefer white with a red sash to better emulate the flag (and honor the 1950 team that beat England in one of the biggest upsets ever), but that might be stepping too far into Peru territory. Either way though, I totally agree that we need a consistent look.
  19. Wouldn't be surprised if they bring them out for Florida. They're 1-16 since 2005 against the Gators and that 1 was in the smokey grays.
  20. It's funny to me that they already have a Big 12 patch in the renders. They're still a member of the AAC for the next 11 months, whether they want to admit it or not.
  21. While I can't speak to if it matters much if at all when you're under a bunch of pads and stuff, when I'm just walking outside there is a massive difference between wearing white and dark colors. There's less of one when it's something lighter like orange or yellow, but it's definitely still hotter in those as well. I don't know if there's been any actual studies done on that to see if it's an actual effect or just imagined, but regardless at least 50% of my shirts are white or light gray because of it.
  22. Take off the manufacturer and sponsor logos and I would genuinely believe you if you said that these were for "Golden State College" in NAIA or something.
