  1. While I can't speak to if it matters much if at all when you're under a bunch of pads and stuff, when I'm just walking outside there is a massive difference between wearing white and dark colors. There's less of one when it's something lighter like orange or yellow, but it's definitely still hotter in those as well. I don't know if there's been any actual studies done on that to see if it's an actual effect or just imagined, but regardless at least 50% of my shirts are white or light gray because of it.
  2. Take off the manufacturer and sponsor logos and I would genuinely believe you if you said that these were for "Golden State College" in NAIA or something.
  3. I just can't get over the white on the sleeves and pants. If that was blue instead I might agree, but the combination of bone and white right next to each other is horrendous regardless of the sock color (although blue is miles better than bone).
  4. Blue week 9 at Tampa Bay? I mean come on, at this point the Bucs should just make white at home permanent like the Cowboys and get it over with.
  5. You’re also wrong about the Bucs, fwiw. The NFL’s “special approval” (whatever that means) doesn’t mean squat if Nike can’t have the jerseys made in time, which is the real reason they have to wait until 2023.
  6. Also shows how USC and UCLA are burning over a century of tradition by making this move. Yknow, tradition, what makes college sports great. I get why it happened. The Big Ten's payout even before their addition would be 2-3x what they'd be getting in the Pac-12. And obviously the rest of the conference would love to add two storied brands in a massive market and significantly increase what they get from media deals as well. But it's still a sad day for college sports and everyone that's getting left behind by the LA duo. I just can't help but wonder what Oregon State and Washington State can do here, if anything. They're not in big markets, they're the second fiddle in their state, they're not elite academic institutions. If the rest of the conference splinters and goes its separate ways they are completely and utterly screwed. Hello Mountain West, I guess.
  7. Regardless, it looks great and they should do it more often.
  8. That's the thing, they thought the fans would love it. But then it leaked and everyone despised it and they scrambled to bring purple stuff back to play damage control.
  9. Most people would probably say there are 3 different stripes here. Your standard two color stripes on the helmet (do those have a name?), Northwestern stripes on the jersey, floating stripes on the pants. But they're actually all the same: orange-blue-thick white-blue-orange, just on different backgrounds. I'm sure just about everyone here already knows that, but I thought it's funny that we (OSV excluded) only consider it to be a Northwestern stripe on the jersey. It's because the color of the "in between" stripe is the same as the base jersey color, but I still chuckled a little at it.
  10. This is a really good looking jersey IMO… just not for the Jazz. I wish Memphis went in this direction rather than the one that they did.
  11. I shouldn't like the new Saints helmet. I shouldn't like the new Saints helmet. I shouldn't like the new Saints helmet. ...I like it.
  12. I remember watching the Magic's 2020 playoff games on (what was then) Fox Sports Florida. That might've been a pandemic only thing, though.
  13. As a kid I never understood why there was an A next to the "alternate Biffle scheme," or why it said Bayne instead of Biffle, or why it had the Nationwide logo instead of the Sprint Cup one. ...I wasn't the sharpest tool in the box.
  14. Wait, where? I'm looking for one and I can't find it.
  15. (this is so low effort but somehow I spent 20 or so minutes making it lmao)
  16. What's the holdup for Texas and Oklahoma? I was under the impression that they would pay whatever exit fee necessary to join the SEC in time for the 2023 season, since that's the date that pretty much every other major move is happening. That aside, that article says they'll work out division alignments and stuff next week. There are a few different directions they can go with that. I assume that the eastern 3 will want to stay together, BYU doesn't want to be with the eastern 3, and the Texas/Big 8 schools want to stick together. Unfortunately, there's no layout that can fulfill all of those goals. My guess is they split Texas Tech from the other 3, and have Texas and Oklahoma in separate divisions (while ensuring that the Red River Shootout happens both seasons as a crossdivisional game), so that way when they leave they don't have to shuffle the divisions again: East: UCF, West Virginia, Cincinnati, Houston, Baylor, TCU, Texas (2023-24) West: Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Kansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, BYU, Oklahoma (2023-24) I'm sad the Big 14 will only exist for 2 years. It seems like it'll be a really fun conference in both football and basketball.
  17. I’d forgotten about the Heat (ahem, sorry, HEAT) always putting the name in all caps. It’s so jarring.
  18. 27 total - blue, white, and orange helmets, jerseys, and pants. I’m fine with that, although I don’t love the blue helmets. It doesn’t look like Florida to me.
  19. The picture’s just a mockup, but UF will have black alternates by 2023 at the latest. Blech.
  20. Great job on this one. Fits Florida really well, and looks better than the current one to boot.
  21. Straight from the website: Now we're talking Vandy. No standalone V, no weird star that the V is breaking out of, this.
  22. Please be Orlando please be Orlando please be Orlando please be Orlando
