  1. Yeah, I want the first-round bye. I didn’t want it because a guy’s heart stopped. My dislike of the means is a lot more than how much I may like the end. It’s going to taint it if it comes to that.
  2. Fair enough. This may wind up being much ado about nothing by Monday for all we know.
  3. My apologies that my team is benefiting from a situation that no one actually wants to benefit from.
  4. Hey, you pretty much called it. At the end of the day, beyond everything else, I’m glad Damar Hamlin is alright but this solution sucks. Even if it is the least terrible solution.
  5. Yeah, if rules are just going to be changed at a whim then what is the point of a rule in the first place? It’s not a huge deal but I’ll be honest and say I’m a little miffed at the potential to be screwed out of hosting a championship game based on arbitrary emotional knee jerk reactions not host a championship game. Again, not the end of the world at all, just something I’m slightly bothered by.
  6. I get why the NFL did what it did, but there were already rules in place for what to do about it. Then again, I’m sure this is the first time the NFL has ever arbitrarily enforced its own rules and it isn’t like they do it all the time.
  7. I just don’t want the NFL to make a neutral site Conference Championship Game a precedent going forward. Feels like the NFL would try and pull a “let no crisis go waste” move if they could get away with it. As for teams squabbling about playoff locations and whatnot, it’s to be expected, especially considering that Hamlin’s recovery has been rapid so far. Moments of unity are special because they’re so rare and fleeting.
  8. Could’ve had far worse solutions. FWIW, Indianapolis happens to be almost equidistant from Kansas City and Buffalo. That’s probably where the Conference Title game ends up if it comes to that.
  9. I know that there isn’t a single idea that isn’t going to anger a lot of people and I fully understand not resuming the game and all, but did all of the ideas that have been floated need to be so stupid? Must be the dissonance when trying to apply equity to competition.
  10. Obviously take this with a massive grain of salt and the word “Allegedly,” should be in 72 size font.
  11. I don’t think there’s any resolution to this that isn’t going to piss a bunch of people off. Whether they should be pissed off or not, it’s going to happen that someone is going to lose out. I’d just take the bye week away from the Conference Championship Games and Super Bowl and play the Bills/Bengals game when the Wild Card weekend would normally be. Seems like the solution with the fewest problematic elements.
  12. Kansas City vs. Las Vegas Tennessee vs. Jacksonville Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh Minnesota vs. Chicago NY Jets vs. Miami Tampa Bay vs. Atlanta Carolina vs. New Orleans Houston vs. Indianapolis Arizona vs. San Francisco Dallas vs. Washington LA Rams vs. Seattle NY Giants vs. Philadelphia LA Chargers vs. Denver Detroit vs. Green Bay Baltimore vs. Cincinnati New England vs. Buffalo
  13. If he comes through and I hope he does, he is going to have some interesting things to say about if he felt anything while he was out.
  14. Directly call it dirty? No. Contextually when he’s talking about how “hits like that have been taken out of the game but they aren’t enforced like they should be”? I’m leaning towards yes. Now, he certainly gave himself enough room to say “No, I actually meant this!” but in my opinion, he was implying that it was a dirty hit.
  15. Bart Scott having a terrible take isn’t exactly something I’m unfamiliar with. But holy crap he really went over the line this time. If you’re going to call a hit dirty, you better have irrefutable evidence, especially in a situation where a dirty hit could become involuntary manslaughter.
  16. Tee Higgins made a clean hit, how the hell was he supposed to know it would temporarily kill a guy? Everything about this situation sucks. No need to douse this inferno with more gasoline.
  17. It's analytics run amok. You know, except for one thing: I remember a hell of a lot more Hail Marys succeeding than Cal-Stanford/Miami Miracle/Music City Miracle type plays succeeding. In fact, those are the only three times I know of that something like that works and the team involved won.
  18. They were close the game he coached too. Still, the Broncos are going to be a popular pick for having a bounceback year next season. Make it 15 now. For the next 48 hours, go Bengals.
  19. Broncos are back in the game. These games have always been closer than they should be but this is ridiculous. @DG_ThenNowForever is not wrong at all about the Chiefs playing Steelerball when it comes to bad teams.
  20. Chiefs botch another PAT. Between these, the muffed punts and other assorted mistakes, they’ve really emphasized the special in special teams this year. EDIT: And now Kadarius Toney fumbles a punt. :censored:ing fantastic
  21. Fair. Should’ve said Super Bowl era QBs but my overall point that a QB who throws more picks than TDs now would be far more likely to end up in the unemployment line than the Hall of Fame still stands.
