  1. Love how just about all of these do a great job of having something on the shoulders that is NOT traditional sleeve stripes. These are all so clean! Love them.
  2. The primary is not really original....It is not a copy and is not the same, but I took inspiration from the EPL logo for it and it's similar (to me at least)
  3. Tough crowd. Ok. Here is the same concept, but with the Honolulu Blue and Silver.
  4. Much like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers completely redid their uniforms in the 90's, abandoning the creamsicles that they largely never won in, I thought the Lions could use a similar rebranding...getting completely away from the sillouette lion, the blue and sliver and starting over. So, with that in mind....I present the rebranded Detroit Lions. Team colors are Maroon and Tan. New Lion head logo. Secondary lion paw logo. Tan helmet with maroon facemask. White pants. Lions font is retained. The pants display the old 1960's lion on the side. ALTERNATES are "Black and Tans"
  5. And for the final installment of this series....I present the San Fancisco Sea Turtles. San Franciso just had the Oakland Raiders and the surrounding area has more than enough people to support another NFL squad. Thought of doing some sort of miner theme, but the 49ers already own that space...but considered Sacramento Gold, or Sacramento Prospectors, and Miners....just didn't want to clash with the Niners theme. So, considered San Francisco Seals, Seamonters and Sea Lions. Didn't do Seals...failed NHL franchis with awful logo....didn't do sea lions because Detroit has Lions already. and didn't do sea monsters because that is too much of a resemblance to the Seattle Kraken..so I settled on Sea Turtles. Dark Green, Green and light green and light blue are the colors. Dark green jersey with turtle shell pattern on shoulders. Light green numbers. Light blue TV nubmers. Helmet is light blue with light green facemask and the sea turtle swimming through the water (light blue on the helmet) "Sea Turtles" accross the chest. The Whites lose the turtle pattern on the shoulders and the trim is light blue with dark green numbers and light green TV numbers. The alternate "SF" interlocking logo is on the chest. The "Sea Turtles" font is from TMNT but I didn't want to really borrow more than that from the Ninja Turtles.
  6. I like the silver helmet throwbacks they are going to do this year..but I don't mind the blue helmet. Otherwise sharp look.
  7. Next up in the series is Washington, DC. I present you with the Washington Weasels. I had done a WFT/Commanders rebrand using a similar idea...and this expands on that quite a bit. The Weasels name is meant to represent both a wily apex predator and at the same time, be a backhanded knock on the politicians in Washington. Team colors are red, forest green and silver. Very high contrast. One of my goals in this theme is to avoid existing NFL team color combos....and no one does Red and Green together. The red and green combo is inspired by the Minot St Beavers...a small college in Minot, North Dakota where I lived a for a couple years. Weasel head logo with the W bordering the ear to eye. Secondary logo of back to back letter "W's that form the Washington monument between them. Silver helmet with red facemask, silver pants with thick red strip and green borders. Not my favorite in the set. I had thought about doing a 1 dollar bill based theme called the Washington "1"s. or ONES....but opted against it. Also considered a Northern Virgina branding and theme but couldn't come up with anything I liked. Briefly thought about Norfolk/Virginia Beach branding but that city is too far away and probalby big enough to fit into a set of NFL expansion series. ....and so this is what I ended up with.
  8. Thought about Phoenix...but I'm not sure that even with a large population like they have, that they are a 2 market area. I do think the Raiders leaving Oakland that you can have another team there or Sacramento and I'll probalby do that one. I hit Atlanta #2 ...and it's the most unpopular design I've made so far ....but one of my favorites actually. Even though some of the others listed might be sort of big enough for a second team like St Paul or Detroit, I don't see those places as really being supportive or have quite enough poeple to be fans of another team. So, the only others that will be in this series are Washington, DC and probalby Oakland/Sacramento. Some of your list would be single market expansion teams as is...like Orlando and Memphis.
  9. LOL....come on guys! Think of all the free marketing you get anytime someone types out an email address or twitter handle...your team logo is right there all the time!
  10. For the 6th 2nd city franchise, we have the Atlanta @'s (pronounced "ats") with an owl mascot named Atlee. Cream, Brown and Black are the team colors. @ logo and typeface wordmark. Atlee Owl seconardary logo. White brown and cream sets. Atlanta is rapidly growning huge metropolis and I believe it could support a 2nd NFL team at this point..... Was thinking about doing Atlanta Southern Stars, but just couldn't come up with any designs I liked for a logo etc. I know its unorthodox, but liked the aliteration of ATlanta ATs.
  11. Next up is Houston. Houston has enough people to support 2 NFL teams, but IRL, any expansion to San Antonio / Austin, is going to draw some fans from the Houston market. But, on it's own, Houston is a huge football crazed city and this the NFC cross town rival, Houston Comets. I didn't want to do yet another cowboy / bull theme...already added the Wranglers in Ft. Worth. So, thought about something kind of space related as Houston of course is known for that....and so came up with Comets. The logo is inspired/borrow from the old Major Indoor Soccer League defunct Kansas City Comets. I always liked the logo as a kid and thought it was worthy of being kind of brought back here...though it's modified to make it Houston centric with the HC in the middle. Dark gray helmet meant to resemble a night sky with the bright red and orange comet soaring through it on the helmet. Gray and white jersey sets. Alternate HC logo on side of pants. Alternate HC logo on gray jersey and Comets wordmark on teh white.
  12. Ok...this one is really kind of lazy. Also questionable if it fits the "2nd Franchise" one city criteria. I opted for Hartford and kind of consider it a mish mash of being part Bostons second team and part New Yorks third. Hartford on it's own, isn't a market that merits a franchise but if you consider the sheer number of people in both the Boston and New York Metro...then it's a much more compelling case. There are more than enough people in teh surrounding, nearby areas to support another team. Maybe if you considered it "Southern New England" drawing Both Hartford, Providence, RI and other nearby towns..you'd have something that fits the definition of 2nd city team...or region anyhow. So, what I have here is a very unoriginal Hartford Whalers NFL team. Pretty much the entire concept is just borrowed straight up from the NHL team. I don't care. The Whalers logo, brand, etc...ranks right up there among the great designs and logos IMO and shouldn't be wasting away. In this scenario, the new NFL team works out a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes to restore the Whale where it belongs. White primary helmet with the two tone Whale H logo. Grey facemask. White tops with green pants and trim and striping similar to the hockey jersey. Seconadary whale logo on shoulder sides....same as hockey team from early 80's. All white version, All green version and Gray ALTS with the green helmet and the all white Whale H logo...with slightly different striping pattern on helmet and pants.
  13. The only thing I don't like about it is the "sleeve" striping. I am assuming since this franchise started in 1975, that they had a uniform that had sleeves when they began play...and so through time, they just moved all the way up the tiny patch of real estate around the armhole on modern uniforms. These stripes on modern football uniforms are big pet peeve or mine. Otherwise it's a pretty good look. I've always thought in some alternate universe like this where KC didn't get the Texans moving from Dallas....it would be fun to do a "Comets" NFL look.
  14. Next up is Philadelphia. Plenty big enough market to support a 2nd NFL franchise. And that franchise is..... the New Jersey Jokers. The NEW YORK Giants and Jets play in New Jersey..so in this case, the Jokers play in Philadelphia, but call New Jersey home. Inspired by the states gambling history, we have a motley joker as the mascot with Purple, Blue, Green and Red colors, with yellow accents. A playeing card word mark for the NJ logo and playing card logo....also used for the numbers. 4 ACES on the shoulder sides. The jester cap logo appears on the pant sides. White with red trim home jerseys. Green with red trim roads. Pants are purple with blue striping. Helmet stripe is the 4 suites. No ALT (yet) as color scheme is already vibrant as is.
  15. Thanks for the comments! 1. I like your suggestion about the spikes wordmark on home and the chicago on the away. 2. Thomas has no connection to Chicago that I know of, I just was struggling to come up with an ALT....and thought I'd just go completely away from the B and W color scheme and make something associated with trains that I enjoyed as a kid and think would be a cool conecpt to wear maybe once...I think some kids would find it neat. I am sure if I thought about it, I could come up with an alt more in line with what I have. 3. The silver color isn't meant to be viewed as an actual team/uniform color....it's my very poor MS paint attempt at trying to give the illusion of shading. The intent is that the entire shoulder side is in fact white.
  16. Chicago has a long history with Pro Football and had two NFL teams until 1960 when the Cardinals left. That metro area could easily support another team. I went with "Spikes" for the name. Chicago is the largest rail hub in the world. It sees more rail freight traffic than any other city. I also wanted to pick something that hadn't been done in Chicago before and they've gone through a long list of team names over the years but never any spikes. I went with a very simple black and white color scheme. No other team uses only black and white and I think it goes well with the railroad theme here. Two crossed spikes as primary logo, Alternate logos of a 1930's art deco locomotive on the shoulder sides...and an Illinois state outline with S having spike through it. (not used on uniform itself) Used Microsoft magneto font for "Chicago" accross the front of the jersey and on helmet front....and also for the numbers. Pants stripes are a simple black railroad track pattern. Went "off the rails" for the ALT using Thomas the Tank Engine theme. Thomas himself on the helmet, the primary spikes logo moves to the shoulder sides and is gold with red accents. Block numbers. Gold and red accented pant and helmet stripes.
  17. A lot of demographics have changed over the years and there are some places that could easily support more than 1 team. The first in this series is the Ft. Worth Wranglers. The Dallas Ft. Worth Metroplex has around 8 million or more people....way more than there were back in the early 60's when both the Cowboys and Dallas Texans were in the area at the same time. I present the Fort Worth Wranglers. Wranglers is a pretty run of the mill texas sports team name and it's pretty much the same thing as a cowboy...so not alot of deviation from the texas/cowboy type theme. The horsehead logo is pretty much the same as the NFL Calgary Flames ALT logo horsehead. The Brown and Yellow color scheme is inspired by the Wyoming Cowoboys. White and brown home and away jerseys with a yellow ALT. Shoulder sides have an "FTW" cow brand secondary logo. That logo also appears just below the colar on the ALTS. The "Wrangler" wordmark is borrowed from the 40's era Wrangler jeans co. wordmark and appears below the colar on the regular home and away jerseys. Number font is IFC Rodeo.
  18. As a Kansas Citian myself...I remember the Brigade..pretty popular for a while. Brigade is as good a njame as any, and the stealth bomber is a good reference to Whiteman AFB nearby, but the air force doesn't use the term "brigade". That's an army/land based forces term. Command is better, if we are nitpicking.
  19. Blue helmet with a red buffalo and blue streak. I always liked the red standing buffalo logo. I tried this on a white helmet and thought it looked better in blue. Added a secondary buffalo head logo, which I placed on the shoulder sides, and eliminated the sleeve striping. Went with a slightly different font for the nubmers...and while this isn't traditional block font, it's not a whole lot different, but just a bit more modern and less generic than block. went with a non contiguous two-tone pants stripe. The white pants have red and blue striping, and the blue pants have red and white striping. Added an AFL original member patch to the upper left side of the jersey with "RW" initials on the football in honor of Ralph WIlson.
  20. I like the history and think the mascot logo is really good! Really like the cream and black city editioncs. As someone else mentioned, the HOME "Dreamers" is hard to read. Also...personally, I am not a fan of light blue and red as a color combo..that's just me....I only think that combo looks good on the old Houston Oilers. Just a personal preference. I'd like the cream and black as the primaries. Only other complaint is the mascot on the shorts. Put it on the jersey instead.
  21. With the Lions introducing an ALT with 90th aniversary patch and helmet with 60's logo....I thought I'd take a stab at it. Again, all my work is using MS Paint..so it's not the sharpest stuff. White helmet with blue Lion head ALT logo. Shoulder sides have lion paws. 90 years anniversary patch on left front. "Lions" in official font centered on chest. same number font as current uniform. White pants with 60's lion and racing stripes all the way down the sides.
