  1. We already know they're adding a non-RR alt next year thanks to Mike Gould, and it's a open secret Flames management wants black to be in the team's rotation in some form even with the retirement of the RR. Most people in Calgary would buy 2004 throwback jerseys. It just makes far too much sense from the team's perspective to throw back to one of the biggest highlights of their history, like Pittsburgh's doing with the black wordmark alternate they just introduced. Besides, when has any sports team cared about waiting a few years for alternate jerseys after a rebrand?
  2. Well, Pittsburgh is pushing San Jose's :censored: in right now lmfao
  3. Given the :censored: that organization's been hit with over the last year, may want to look somewhere else lmao
  4. The Ads are the Preds' AHL affiliate, so I assume that's why.
  5. Oof, Brian Elliot is having a pretty rough game lmao
  6. Following up on this, someone on r/hockeyjerseys has posted what seems to be a prototype Oilers RR design which matches the original Icethetics report;
  7. Well, losing both of your NHL goalies doesn't exactly help lmao
  8. It is new; but after looking around, that appears to be the logo for the city of Nashville itself, since the official Twitter uses it as an avatar.
  9. please be the 2004 red jersey, please be the 2004 red jersey, please be the 2004 red jersey
  10. Minor addition to the Yotes' helmets for the rest of the season; a decal commemorating the recently-deceased Matt Schott, who was a huge contributor to AZ's youth and women's hockey scene and one of the heads of the Coyotes' hockey development crew.
  11. Most likely, since the Pens are calling the black 90's alt their third jersey. And talk is that RR is very likely coming back next season, so there's no incentive to bring the yellow third back.
  12. No, the Flames move back to Atlanta just to go full circle as a franchise, causing ESPN to produce a program called "From Georgia to Canada and Back Again: The Atlanta Flames Story".
  13. I'd say it'd be more along the lines of the Storm or Pooh Bear where people want it as an alternate because of the meme value.
  14. Canucks fans are getting restless; there was booing and "Fire Benning" chants at the end of their game with the Pens, and someone chucked a jersey onto the ice. Of course, expecting Francesco Aquilini to do anything but whine at the media is a bit of a fool's errand...
  15. They usually have a jersey update for stuff like that, yeah.
  16. Eh, I'll disagree with you here; I always thought these were pretty good as an exploration of the Panthers' brand if they'd come in during '67 or around that early period of NHL expansion instead of the 90's. Its only real issue was being similar to the Pens' double-blue alternates from around that same time period, otherwise it's a pretty good-looking alternate.
  17. I mean, at least those have a "so bad, it's good" quality to them to salvage things. These are just...oof. There's nothing really redeeming about them besides "hey look, we did a navy jersey".
  18. :censored:, I didn't even notice that at first due to the giant ass "SMASH VILLE" text.
  19. It's nontraditional, but I'd hardly decry it as "terrible" just because it's not a bog-standard template design. I mean, it's design is fairly similar to one of the most iconic Team Canada jerseys ever made, and nobody really calls this "futuristic garbage"; The differences between Nashville's overly-designed mess and Tampa's more refined design are pretty evident; Tampa's had a clear vision and method behind it, where it looks like Nashville tried to do a bunch of different ideas all at once and whiffed on all of them.
  20. I mean, I'd argue for the infamous "DALLAS" jerseys as far as that goes. How do you take a team who's most prominent historic color is green and remove almost all of the green on their jerseys?
  21. Eh, Minnesota's jersey is pretty solid as a fauxback design, too. It's supposed to look out of a certain era and nails that aesthetic, so it at least accomplishes what it's going for, unlike the JERSEY jersey and the Preds' Stadium Series abomination. I can see why they did it; "Lightning" is a pretty long name to do in diagonal font and, perhaps more importantly, "Bolts" jerseys are already popular with Lightning fans; so combining an experimental design with a bit of something your fans have already proven they'll buy on jerseys is smart business on their end to maximize potential sales.
  22. Eh, I find the Bolts' jersey fine for a Stadium jersey. Those always have different expectations, and at least it's not as disappointing as Nashville's limp-dick effort. I don't find it offensively ugly, just kinda meh. Wish they'd incorporated some black into the design, but it at least doesn't look like a beer league design.
  23. The thing with the Lightning is "Bolts" is A.) common lexicon for describing the team on the ice (ex: "The Bolts get one back!") and B.) jerseys with it are popular with fans, so it makes sense why Tampa would keep iterating on that idea for alternates. Lots of people like the "Bolts" jerseys compared to the infamous "Sens" jerseys that were from that same era. "Smashville" is a marketing term, it's never really been used to describe the players of the Predators by fans; that term's "Preds". Sticking it on a jersey just feels weird in comparison. They had an easy slam dunk with navy and absolutely duffed it at the final hurdle.
