  1. Especially if/knowing Sarver would rather die than let them use Footprint Center again. ThunderDome 2.0 baybee!
  2. I'd say the main reason the Nords, Jets and Whalers left was less due to lack of mercy and more due to the big-market owners of the time who didn't want revenue sharing and a cap; the league itself wanted those two things, the big market teams didn't (for fairly obvious reasons, given the kinds of superteams being made at the time). For the Jets and Nords, you also had the :censored:ty Canadian economy of the time and both being the smallest markets in the NHL also screwing them over. Those small markets were getting squeezed out, and bigger US markets were just more easily able to keep up with the rapidly-ballooning player salaries; and most of the big US markets the NHL could go to at that point were southern, because a lot of the obvious northern markets just...didn't show up when they could probably have gotten something or didn't have the pieces in place to get a team. At least since the cap has been introduced, the NHL has been extremely reluctant to relocate a franchise; the only time since 2004 a team has relocated was when they were literally being kicked out of their own venue, had nowhere to go on short notice and had owners who just wanted the team gone no matter what (the Thrashers). Even the Pens, who came up to death's door numerous times in the early-mid 2000's, didn't move despite it probably being a better idea to let them go to somewhere like Portland just revenue-wise at that point in time. I don't think it's so much the league "protecting southern teams" as it is the league not wanting teams relocating too often, especially in light of the Sonics' highly-controversial move to OKC which had happened at roughly the same time the Coyotes were struggling.
  3. I'd say the Blackhawks are consensus Team We Should All Hate at the moment due to the off-ice :censored:storm they've gotten themselves into. Most you can whine about with the Bolts is them just using the rules to their advantage, and the Canes are really only an issue for their social media being kinda cringy.
  4. That'd make it inaccurate to the jersey it's based on, though, which didn't have front numbers; Effectively, it's a blue version of the throwback they did for their Willie O'Ree tribute;
  5. St. Louis...you just lost to the Arizona Coyotes. On our side of the fence, YOTES WIN, PLAY WEREWOLVES OF LONDON LMFAOOOOOO
  6. Looks like they're making a blue version of the throwback they wore when they honored Willie O'Ree;
  7. Jackets wearing their alternates against Detroit tonight.
  8. But I thought Dorion and Melnyk said the rebuild was over? In all seriousness, this sucks for Sens fans.
  9. I mean, Bruins Nation also wants either the Meth Bear or Pooh Bear on the front of an alternate jersey. So there are some reasons not to listen to them.
  10. Eh, dunno about that. The Devils aren't generally a team that goes that route, even post-Lou. I could easily see them unveiling something like a black and red version of their white throwback jersey and making bank off of that.
  11. Looks like the Yotes have switched up the logo on their home helmets; EDIT: I could've sworn it was the wordmark before now, but looks like I noticed it late lmao, oops
  12. Welcome to the NHL, Seattle! You've completed your first chokejob and given the 0-10-1 Coyotes their first win of the season!
  13. Rodgers really is just completely shredding any respect even the Packers fanbase had for him, isn't he?
  14. We have an official name and logo for the Seattle AHL team; the Coachella Valley Firebirds. Here's the logo by itself if you don't want to watch the video (it's mostly the same as the teaser anyways);
  15. Eeeeh, I mean...it's hardly "coherent" to have random white strips on the arms, no hem striping and no arm striping beyond the pinstripes that are just holdovers from the Reebok Edge dark days. The Sens ditched their fugly Reebok Edge designs for a reason. The RR proved that Washington looks a hell of a lot better in a more traditionally-styled jersey than the Edge mess they have now.
  16. I think you could get away with tinkering with the Mighty Ducks look a smidge, maybe by replacing the silver stripe with orange and putting the orange sticks on the primary (and also using the jade triangle on the dark jersey), like so; This solution marries both eras together pretty well, I feel. Orange adds a nice burst of bright color to the design while not being overwhelming, and the Ducks get to have a totally unique color palette in the league.
  17. Please no, we have enough goddamn blue teams in the NHL as it is. Dallas owns green in the NHL; if they change anything about their uniforms, I'd say modernizing the star cuts with the current logos and colors is good enough.
  18. Honestly, I think another good chunk of the reason there's such a push for the duck mask logo is just that the Ducks have...basically never had a look since then that has generally surpassed it in the court of fan and public opinion. You see that often in teams with mediocre branding, the desire to see a past look because of the memories tied to it. The '07 jerseys, despite winning a Cup with them, are pretty generally regarded as boring overall; not bad, but not inspiring, either. Their current look would be better for the stronger use of orange, but they're like the Kings in that they've clung to the Edge design too long; just that unlike them, the Ducks don't have Cups in that look, so it doesn't have that pedigree and comes off as stale more than anything, especially with teams like Ottawa ditching their own Edge holdover designs. The closest thing the Ducks have had for a while to a truly iconic and well-liked jersey currently is the orange alternate...that has the duck mask logo front and center and the Webbed D relegated to the shoulders. And even that has not been able to supplant the eggplant and jade look, despite being pretty damn popular itself. 90's teams are slowly but surely embracing that side of themselves; the Coyotes went back to the Kachina and brought the Peyote back, the Sens went back to their 90's look, the Sharks have done multiple 90's throwbacks, the Panthers have also dabbled in 90's throwbacks with the RR, and even the Ducks themselves were comfortable enough to put out a friggin' Wild Wing in 2021 despite how notorious that jersey was for being considered among the ugliest of all time.
  19. Henderson has special uniforms commemorating Nevada Day;
