Shame we rarely get white on blue. It’s the best look they have. Unfortunately they wear more blue on blue.
White on silver and blue on silver >>>>>>

Mostly agree with your picks. I don't make picks when my team has a legitimate shot at winning it all (out of fear of jinxing it)

The Niners season is still going for at least another two weeks (hopefully into February) but we already have multiple teams asking about our assistant GM Adam Peters and our DC Steve Wilks. Since John Lynch is currently both GM and President of Football Operations, there's talk of just having Lynch as President and giving Peters the GM job to keep him around. Hopefully that's what happens.

Cool, cool. So which is it -- is Brock Purdy the most valuable player or can he not keep the 49ers offense rolling without McCaffrey and Deebo? Is McCaffrey the MVP or would the offense suck with Sam Darnold?
I just don't understand how having great teammates is now a minus. So for anyone to win the MVP they have to be a quarterback surrounded by nobodies and literally drag the offense to relevance singlehandedly (while a quarterback with better stats get shlt on relentlessly because he was a lower draft pick and has great teammates). This allows everyone to conveniently ignore that said MVP has the help of the top defense that gives him short fields and favorable situations out of turnovers galore.
Both Purdy and Lamar received help (so do all MVP candidates) and there's nothing wrong with that. I really don't like comparing individual players for awards and rankings since it usually devolves into these kinds of arguments, but the "Lamar is the MVP by a landslide" narrative is just plain disrespectful to a quarterback (and yes, a running back) that each had significantly better overall seasons in my mind.
(I am extremely biased as a Niners fan and I won't pretend not to be)

That's fair.

Agree to disagree on this one.
Really, I agree with the point of your original post. The Lions' current uniforms should be a modern classic as long as proper combos are worn. I just don't see that happening with how they had their best season in a generation in
-up combos.
All they need in my opinion:

It gave them necessary distance in color scheme from the Panthers, which I honestly forgot was even an issue back then, until this talk of a black alternate came up.
?? Not trying to argue that black needs to be in the Lions' color scheme (it shouldn't), but how are these two confused for one another?

Yes
1 hour ago, MJD7 said:sticking with the lighter gray for the alternate
No. Burn the gray jersey
1 hour ago, MJD7 said:The helmet finish on their alternate blue lid is honestly really nice too, though I’d probably make it closer in design to the main helmet
This helmet needs to be worn with the blue pants

My bold prediction for these playoffs is that the Ravens go one and done again.
Call me salty about that Christmas loss, call me a hater (I am absolutely both of those things), but I am not impressed by Lamar. He's not even close to the runaway MVP that he's been crowned as. Against the Niners, he got short field after short field as the Ravens defense ate Brock Purdy alive. The Niners actually outgained the Ravens in that game. He admittedly had a great game against Miami, but Brock and CMC have been putting in historic performances all season long. Brock broke a passing yards record (he only played 16 games, it counts) for a team that once employed Joe Montana and Steve Young. This entire season has been the media lining up guys and saying, "THIS guy is better than Brock. He should win MVP". They did it with Dak. They did it with Hurts. They did it with Lamar, and it finally worked out.
If you really hate Brock Purdy that much and refuse to give the MVP to him, give it to CMC. But don't tell me Lamar should win it in a landslide. Because that's just disrespectful to Purdy and CMC.

Be careful what you wish for. I’ve heard rumors that next year the Lions will have black alternate uniforms. Not sure if it will be black jerseys with gray pants like it was in the past or mono black uniforms but I’m guessing it will be the latter.
Imo black uniforms > grey uniforms. (both are terrible)

Browns: orange/white/orange/white
Texans: navy/navy/white/white
Will be an excellent matchup if the Texans wear navy socks like a proper team (unlikely)
2 hours ago, fouhy12 said:Dolphins: white/white/aqua/aqua
Chiefs: red/red/white/red
Would like to see the white/white/white/aqua combo, but I doubt the Dolphins break it out again after getting waxed in it by the Ravens
2 hours ago, fouhy12 said:Steelers: black/white/yellow/black
Bills: white/blue/white/blue
Please this. Excellent matchup.
2 hours ago, fouhy12 said:Packers: yellow/green/yellow/green
Cowboys: silver/white/seafoam/blue
Absolute classic. Beautiful.
2 hours ago, fouhy12 said:Rams: blue/white/yellow/blue
Lions: silver/blue/blue/blue
Would like the silver pants, but this Lions team has had a severe case of Arizona Cardinals syndrome for most of the year. Just can't stop wearing monochrome combos.
2 hours ago, fouhy12 said:Eagles: green/green/white/white
Bucs: pewter/white/pewter/black
Would like the Bucs to wear red over pewter and the Eagles in white over green, but this isn't the worst. It will look worse than the playoff game two years ago because most of the Eagles have since forgotten that black socks exist.

If the Chiefs win next week and the Steelers don't upset the Bills, Mahomes will play his first ever road playoff game (which is an absolutely ridiculous stat, considering that he's been the starter since 2018)

It's probably going to Stroud. Guy quarterbacked the same Texans who had the worst record in the AFC last season to a divisional title.

They should but injuries along their defensive line have limited their pass rush and I don't trust their o line that much. Cinderella Bucs knock off the Eagles & Niners on the way to Dallas or Detroit for the NFC Championship. Ya never know!
Bucs only play the Niners in the Divisional Round if both the Cowboys and Lions win their games, which I don't see happening. Dallas should beat the Packers (you never know though), but Lions/Rams looks like a good upset candidate.

I don't know why the Rams refuse to wear white over yellow against the Niners, even though they love wearing blue over yellow against them.

Cannot understate how much better Cowboys navy looks when paired with silver pants.

Delete the Arizona Cardinals franchise from existence. They have just gone AN ENTIRE SEASON wearing exclusively monochrome combos. I am absolutely disgusted by this mockery of uniform aesthetics. Anyone who said "don't worry, they'll mix and match eventually" was unfortunately proven wrong.

Also, I'm just gonna say it, I think this is my favorite Falcons uniform in general. It's nostalgic for me. Before switching to red at home, before Nike screwed it all up.
Also, they use to have black pants (with white striped socks!?) and it was great, they mothballed it after like two seasons or something. The removal of black pants along with Nike's template screwing it up really watered down their look.
(A) (Edit) I stand corrected, I checked GUD and they had those socks for one season in 2003. Huh.
(B) Any black pants/black socks combo is an automatic no from me. The black pants could've worked with the striped socks or the red socks that they paired with the red uniforms. But they simply don't with the black socks.

Watching the Ravens/Steelers game has me thinking…
How common (or uncommon) are matchups where both starting QBs wear the same number?
In this instance, Rudolph and Huntley both wear 2.
The 90s Niners/Cowboys rivalry had Steve Young and Troy Aikman both wearing number 8

(A) I completely forgot that Kyle Juszczyk was a Raven
(B) The problem with those is just that gold isn't prominently featured anywhere else on the uniform. The gold is used primarily in the logo, and is barely a tertiary accent color elsewhere. The pants ended up sticking out like a sore thumb.

As worthless as the Pro Bowl is, usually players are excited because at the very least, they get bonuses or something. These guys are so checked out that they don't even give a single F. Not sure I've ever seen complete apathy like this.

And speaking of important design elements... I particularly like how they handled the hem, resorting to the most oft-repeated crutch hockey uniform design has to offer today: "When in doubt, copy Detroit."
I was with you until this point. "Copy Detroit?" It's lazy for sure, but the presence of a single hem stripe doesn't necessarily scream Red Wings to me. Their primaries definitely copied Detroit when they were originally designed in 2011, but not every single jersey with a single hem stripe is automatically a Detroit copycat.
