  1. I'm just adjusting the color on existing vector graphics. Why? Because I take so much time between updates? (!)
  2. I did some more research...as you said - it IS a mistake, and one that happens when one removes the 'TM' designation from the graphic. Like I did (!). Has to do with a compound path issue...long story, but this one's correct:
  3. You mean, instead of going with this?: The problem is that the keyline is Gold, no matter what background it's up against.
  4. BP Cap Mark - 2013 through present: In addition, the A's wore the White Elephant mark on the sleeves of the 1988 road uniforms: Note the different shades of Green and Gold in comparison to the present-day BP caps.
  5. I brought this one up a long time ago, but here are the unused uniforms that the Angels included in a 1995 Style Guide: Aside from the silly shoulder panels, another difference is a lighter shade of Dark Blue/Navy...more of a Royal initially.
  6. I wasn't thinking you were! I agree on the kerning...if anything, the official guide has the first 's' practically attached to then 'A'. Here's a crappy iPhone pic of the wordmark from the 1986 sheet:
  7. I just pulled out an 1986 Style Guide sheet for the Astros...looks crappy there too. The graphic I posted is spot on... Ah, the days of hand-drawn wordmarks...
  8. For what it's worth - look at this: Looks like (from this image and others I'm seeing doing a Google search), that the actual wordmark was a bit wonky.
  9. I do, actually. I know! I'll look into it...
  10. To be clear - I'm not creating these...these are official graphics, taken from official vector logosheets created by the teams and leagues themselves. All I am really doing is optimizing the colors for viewing in RGB. Matching the colors digitally as close as possible to the intended shades.
  11. I'll get the other variations up soon, but here's one - Home and Road Uniform Script - 1975 through 1981:
  12. Yes - the one I posted is officially a secondary logo.
  13. The primary mark did not change. The logo you're referring to is the new secondary mark:
  14. Working on the Baseball Cardinals...meanwhile, here's a retrospective of their primary marks... Primary Mark - 1927 through 1947: Alternate Primary Mark - 1928 through 1939: Second Alternate Primary Mark - circa 1930s through 1940s: Primary Mark - 1949 through 1965: Alternate Primary Mark - 1965 through 1966: Primary Mark - 1966 through 1997: Primary Mark - 1998: Primary Mark - 1999 through present: We addressed this years ago on this board, but the redesign in 1998 originally had a Red beak on the bird (as well as on the "bird on a bat" uniform script) initially. Was modified in 1999.
  15. Watching a Red Wings-Blackhawks game from the 1995 playoffs, it's the what's-worn Indian Head with the tan keyline on the sweaters, but the vector version on the ice and in the graphics. Interesting stuff. You'd have to think that if any logo would be subject to all the vagaries of different means of reproduction at a time when everything is getting really technical, it would be the Blackhawks' primary. Remember, too, the secondary logo with the tomahawks and C was totally different between fabric (one-serifed wishbone C) and graphic (sans-serif) for years. It might even still be, but the mothership has taken to only counting the fabric one. Yep - the official version has the sans-serif one.
  16. The Black is still on there...I posted all of the correct Royals' primary marks earlier in the thread. Another example of "official" graphics not always being in sync with what's actually worn. Oh - and vector graphics really didn't exist until the early '90s.
  17. I agree re: official vs. actual. I addressed some of the Blackhawks logo issues a few years ago; I'll try to find what I came up with.
  18. Don't have those NHL helmet marks...wish I did. Here are the current New York Rangers uniform scripts - aside from the color differences, I'm not seeing much of a difference between what the Mothership has, and my own official graphics: Home Uniform Script - 2003-2004 through present: Road Uniform Script - 2003-2004 through present: Alternate Uniform Script - 2010-2011 through present:
  19. St. Louis Browns' Home and Road Cap Mark: 1950-1951: St. Louis Cardinals' Home and Road Cap Mark: 1940-1955:
  20. I have the official versions of all of them...will post later.
  21. How about all of the versions of the Kansas City Royals' primary marks?: 1969-1978: 1979-1985: 1986-1992: 1993-2001: 2002-present: And...I hate to bring this up, but for the mods out there who wish to post these on the Mothership: I don't mind, but Chris and I worked it out years ago that I would get credit for the color optimizations...
  22. That one's never been in any official style guide.
