Yeah, the more I looked at the “GB” it reminded me of the Warner Bros logo.

Now, I’m placing Option A against a new Option B-

For the new B, I wanted to retain the new “G” and mimic the collar striping on the current uniforms

You seem to be doing change for the sake of change. Pass.

Neither of these are better than the existing logo. You're changing a logo in the shape of a football into one in the shape of a baseball or basketball. Why does anyone think that works?

Not really concerned. Great speed, questionable hands. Good for him that he got paid, but he wasn't going to get that kind of money in GB.

Sure I wish Adams were still around, but he wanted to play with Carr. Oh well, maybe Rodgers gets better by not locking onto a double covered Adams, like on the last play in the playoffs rather than hitting the open Lazard over the middle.

NFTs yes, crypto the actual tech itself no. Blockchain technology has way too many uses for people to just put it aside. I predict, if anything, that our current currency will wind up as a state-backed crypto along with legal tender within the decade.

    I'll take that bet.

So with MLB brining in the ads, when is the NFL coming next?

I think if their small enough and in team colors, it could be potentially salvageable. But I can just imagine a franchise winning their first ever Super Bowl, and all you see on their jerseys in memorabilia and photos is the GoDaddy.com logo on them.

Do you understand how advertising works? I mean, if you are seriously making that statement, you don't.  I'm not trying to bag on you, but this is a case where the focus of this particular part of the internet needs to look at the reality of the real world. The characteristic of the people here is that we would like our uniforms to be ad free. But to state that an ad would be ok if they're in team colors and small is out of line with reality, except if it happens by chance in terms of color (such as if IBM were to advertise on the Indianapolis Colts uniforms).

As stated by Mike Florio, remember when everyone was outraged at sponsored stadium names? I'm not FOR ads, but this too shall pass.

I just wanted to show my quick and dirty fix for the Elks’ antler helmets. I know it’s generally bad form to put concepts here but I thought showing the fix would be easier than trying to explain what I would do to the helmets.spacer.png

It’s bigger, outlines and more elk-like and less reindeer-like

I don't see the outline as necessary. Other than that, I like what you did.

It’s going to be a long time before ESPN can find anyone that can touch Tirico and Gruden. I don’t think we knew what we had with those guys until we lost it.

The fact that Levy/Riddick/Griese was probably one of ESPN’s better booths in the post-Tirico era tells you all you need to know about the downfall of MNF.

I'm sorry. I thought Gruden sucked. Everything was 'this is a guy who's great'. Nothing was ever bad.

Well it’s also exposed to the elements, it’s not like Madison square garden where 90% of it doesn’t have to deal with the effects of rain, cold, snow, corrosion, wind etc.

Understood, but it reads as though they didn't use steel reinforcement in the structure, i.e., it was build strictly of concrete (or as strictly of concrete as is possible).

Namath is in because of The Guarantee (the legacy of which is undersold more and more as the years go on), he won AFL MVP twice, SB MVP, ROTY, an NFL All Pro, 4 AFL All Pros, made the AFL All-Time Team, and threw for 4000 yards 12 years before anyone else.

Somehow his reputation over the years turned into "Dude sucked but said the Jets were gonna win the Super Bowl and he wore fur coats", I don't know why

Let's give Joe his due. He completed 50.1% of his career passes for 173 TDs and 220 Ints.

I get that I'm the same guy who said stats matter according to their timeframe, but those are ... something.

I mean, Namath got in so the QB bar isn't really as high as it should be.

One of the weak points in HOF arguments is picking the worst player who is in. Not picking on you with this, but it was a reminder that this also comes up in this type of discussion. I guess Namath gets in on the 'tough to tell the merger story without him', even though the merger was a done deal by the time of the poolside guarantee. He was a big part of the salary war, though.

There's a book I really enjoy that talks about this sort of thing, along with cherry picking stats. Something along the lines of 'only Babe Ruth, Willie Mays, and Tony Oliva had 300+ HRs, 250+ 2Bs and batted at least .276' I'm making those numbers up - but when the case is made it trumps the guy on the outside, even though the numbers BY THEMSELVES mean nothing. And as is typical in these cases, if you bump one of those numbers, you lose the guy on the outside.

  10. Any time stats come up, I ought to mention that you need to compare the stats from the era in which they occur. A QB today has better numbers than Dan Fouts (for example)? Great, but teams pass more now than they used to. A running back is running for 1000 yards? Impressive, but given the number of game in the season, that isn't as impressive as Jim Taylor doing so in the 60s. On the other hand, running isn't as common now as then, so maybe there's a balance.

Don't even get me started on receiving statistics. That's where things really are screwed up over time.

Apparently he is so weak minded that he upset with fans blaming him for the loss and wants out.

According to anonymous sources by mouthpiece Schefter. Anonymous sources are BS in this case.

Is there actually news about the Cardinals changing their uniforms or are we just speculating?

    Speculating on speculation.

Kyle Murray removed references to the Cardinals on his social media and someone thought that might mean new uniforms. Easier pathway is that he isn't happy with the team.

Speaking of TV contracts, isn't that a big part of this Phoenix v. Quebec City issue?

I understand and don't disagree with the speculation, but has that been proven anywhere?  Because on the flip side, a good TV draw has to draw beyond its own market. If the NHL isn't a good TV draw, then the markets are immaterial.

There's also the death of the One-Helmet Rule, leading to the return of throwbacks. And the only confirmed one to return so far is the Patriots Pat Patriot throwbacks. The Buccaneers Bucco Bruce Creamsicles, Red Falcons Helmets,  Cowboys 60s Double Star, amongst others, can be assumed to be returning, but haven't been officially announced.

I flew through Dallas yesterday. The white helmet was on display at the front of the team store in the airport alongside the regular helmet.

Take that for whatever it might mean.
