Yikes. 😐 The wonders of research.

(sidenote: are they playing the Giants in that photo?)

Yes, they are.  Green Bay also used that font at times in the 60s.

Dude - You call yourself "True" fan, and reference their number of titles in our name. You might want to do a little research into that title, especially since most of those titles occurred WAY before you were a glimmer in your father's eye.

Bold of you to assume Dallas gives a :censored: about their navy jersey

Repeat that for every team and uniform combination.  I get it that it's what this place is all about, but let's be real. Nobody else cares. Certainly not the teams.

Yes, but how much are those games being hyped in Canton? I see commercials for Birmingham during the games but I haven't noticed anything about Canton.

They are more concerned with eyes on TV than in the stands right now. I don't know if that is right or wrong, but it is clearly what they are doing.

Have a game, Jrue...have a game.  I'm torn between hoping this series goes seven and wanting Bucks in six...this Celtics team is a bunch of oversized (but no less annoying) horseflies on D.  Way to fight like hell, Bucks 👊

Steal and a block in the last 10 seconds.

According to Reds twitter and reddit the team ran out of beer for the $3 beer promotion in the fourth inning, lines were long, and still only 10,000 people showed up. How do you run out of beer when that few people are in the stadium? What if they have done if it was a sellout?

This franchise used to be my example of great, fan friendly customer service, especially compared to the Bengals, but now they're far worse. It's amazing how far they've fallen.

How many of those 10000 fans were Brewer fans?

[this is a joke - Brewer fans drink lots of beer - this is NOT a knock on the Reds - I can't do anything that tops them]

The difference between those aforementioned personalities and Brady, besides personality itself, is that they're the "draw" of their show. Brady will be doing NFL games and the draw of the NFL is the NFL, not the guys in the booth. Are 375 million dollars worth of extra people going to tune in to the Fox game he does every week versus whatever replacement level analyst they could throw in the booth? Seems like they're paying him just to say "hey look at us, we have Tom Brady on our team!" I actually can imagine him being good at it, though, and I wouldn't have said that four years ago.

Speaking of hall-of-famers in the booth, it brings me joy to say this because he was my all-time favorite athlete growing up, but Barry Larkin is awful as the Reds home game color analyst. It actually makes me think less of him as a player because he's got so little to add to the game. I suspect he's one of those guys who was just naturally great and didn't have to think about the game too hard, which means articulating the little minutiae of major league baseball isn't one of his skills.

I mean, that's it right there, isn't it? Nobody (pretty sure on that absolute) tunes in because of who is broadcasting a game, unless you go back to mid-70s MNF when people would pay to throw a brick at a TV when Howard Cosell was on.

I don’t see black. The sticker says “Ciel Bleu” (sky blue) and “Blue Marin” (navy blue). Embroidery in the front is clearly navy. Seems like an homage to the people’s flag.

The hidden 44 is a nice tribute to Hank.

That's a 4-1-4, not 44. Milwaukee's area code. It was Green Bay's too, when I grew up there.

Every single Ravens front office member loses their job if Lamar doesn't resign.  Everyone in the organization loves him and has nothing but positive things to say about him (and more than the usual pandering stuff for the media).  Harbaugh and DeCosta love him but - and this is key - most importantly, Steve Bisciotti loves him.  He will be pissed if Lamar leaves.  The idea that we are sinking him or somehow don't want him to resign (or even the idea that long term it would be best for us if he doesn't resign) is ridiculous.  Especially since we just invested a gosh darned first round pick on a center to protect him for the foreseeable future.  The Cardinals offered a first round pick for Hollywood Brown.  I don't care what your receiver room looks like, when someone is dumb enough to do that, you can't shake hands fast enough.

Lamar is his own agent and doesn't care to negotiate.  That's a problem for the team, because they have no way to make a deal if Lamar won't talk.

Hollywood ASKED to be traded, because he doesn't like the offense. That, too, is a problem.

    Mets should only have:

    Home white pinstripes

    Road grays with piping

Blue Mets alt (orange and white on the jersey only, no black)

Black Mets alt (bring back blue placket piping)

2 hats: Primary blue with orange NY (no outline), black hat for black alt jersey

You have two too many jerseys and one too many hats.

    But I'm old😆😅😂🤣

Or it's possible the cards were done up in 2020, when Vegas was originally supposed to host, and they swapped out "Football Team" for "Commanders" in the graphic

Then the real reason would be laziness, as they had plenty of time to do one for the Commanders.

WAS: Might not've had time to create a Commander card

    NO: Staying away from religion

NYG: Staying away from growth disorders

KC: Definitely staying away from race

The NFL knew in advance what the team name was, and that this was a planned graphic for the draft.

Nope - not buying that time excuse on this one.

Maybe while negotiating  the new CBA, the players should have stipulated that Angel Hernandez gets his bum ass thrown out of the league?

Seriously, I don't recall there being an umpire as famous (or rather infamous) as Hernandez just for how awful they are.

    Things to notice:

Hader's facial expression as he walks off the mound following the call

Schwarber accurately pointing out how he was speaking for both dugout

The Brewer dugout sort watching like 'Yeah, he's got a point'

Of note, ESPN really hammered Hernandez in coverage post game AND on the later Sportscenter.

  14. It's interesting listening to Karl Ravech call the SNF game between Milwaukee and Philadelphia tonight. He is sort of going after the crappy strike zone of Angel Hernandez. Justifiably, but I'm not sure I have heard it delivered out of a national broadcast like this.

He's flat out said 'that was off the plate' with a tone of disgust or unbelief at how off it is.

FWIW - Perez and Cone aren't arguing with his presentation, either.

Branching off of @crashcarson15's point, the market situation is compounded in baseball with the fact that there's 81 home games as opposed to 41 in hockey/basketball and 8 to 9 in football.  So, really the radius of pulling fans for home games is much smaller in baseball than on a NFL Sunday and as a result the fandom model makes a lot more sense.  You can get 50K at Dodger Stadium on a Tuesday.  That's not going to happen in Nashville.

I will say that having a roof helps in that aspect. The Brewers draw from outlying areas in part because you know a game will be played.
