  1. I'll say this for the In-Season Tournament: seeing how it operates in real time and reading what some of y'all are saying about its intention is helping me understand how stuff like the Champions League, Gold Cup, and other stuff that goes on during the soccer seasons work. So I can appreciate it from that perspective.
  2. Okay, so...first, I wanna see that guy's permitted route. I know that thing couldn't have traveled from more than probably aboout 10 or 20 miles outside of town, if that. I'm sure it was shipped to Vegas in pieces and assembled somewhere locally. Secondly, those don't look like normal run-of-the-mill four-inch nylon straps; they look closer to eight inches. I wonder what that trophy base weighs; if I had to guess, I'd give it somewhere between 12,000 and 20000 lbs? (Much depends on what its made of underneath all that overlay.) Thirdly....dude got to travel in a VNL 860??? Those are about the most comfortable trucks on the road! I might be slightly jealous. And fourth: I see they're still repaving the boulevards out there. They had about half of them tore up the last time I was out there...
  3. Shoot...they may as well build out in Yuma if they're gonna do all that...
  4. Granted, I've never had a reason to pay attention to TV charts, but it has been interesting watching these maps in this thread the past couple weeks, just to see how much of the map gets swathed in either red or blue. That said, two things: 1.) I honestly cannot ever remember a time since their inception that the Jacksonville daggone Jaguars have been top billing in a given week. And against the Browns, at that?? What are they expecting, another Bottlegate to break out or something??? What the whole what the what???? 2.) Excepting the two LA and the two NJ NY teams, that Indy vs Cincinnati game might be the shortest road trip between teams in the league. In fact I'm pretty well confident it is since there's barely about 100 miles between Indy and Cincy. (Well, 112 if you count from downtown to downtown, but still...)
  5. Wellp, now you can make that two north Florida football teams—both my teams, coincidentally—knocked out the playoffs due to the #1 quarterback sustaining an injury...
  6. Time out...what??? This is the first time I've ever seen someone describe the StL Rams' number font that way. It's barely a few angled bars away from being dang near the exact same number font the Cleveland Brows and [sailboat series aside] Minnesota Vikings currently use? Well if you squint really closely and zoom in on the slee—you know what, forget it. This matchup should be 100% illegal.
  7. This too is fair. I mean shoot, relish in the victory now. And actually, I can tolerate the obnoxious Eagle Syndicate, don't mind them at all. It's the Cowboy Syndicate I can't stand. Never could. Even worse than the Steelerheads....because they keep the media in their hip pocket right alongside them.
  8. I meant the other thumb. #6. (Sorry, should have made that clear.) That's what they were yapping about in Pittsburgh back in '08 when they won #6. (Or at least the Burghers I lived amongst at the time.)
  9. We'll revisit this again in February. For as good as SF has been the past couple seasons—even making it to the SB twice—they haven't yet been able to finish the deal. Perhaps this is the season they get that elusive "one for the thumb" (and in so doing shut up the Puhlamalu Steelerheads at the same time), but until then, it is what it is. BUT, as Chris Berman once used to say, "THAT'S why they play the games."
  10. Time out—the Chiefs are actually playing a road game??? Is that legal???
  11. Where have you heard this? That'd be pretty amazing if any of them do shift over. For the time they had the NHL, adidas has probably done the best in terms of visual design and actual garment construction with the fit, finish, and fabric materials. (Well, minus the VGK gold fabric...it's still a tidbit too abrasive to the skin, but the actual look of the fabric, which was also used for the bronze on the Caps' Screagle RRs, is pretty nice up close.) That said, the absolute second the NHL season is over, that's when I intend to cash in on what at that point should be big-time discounted stock and inventory.
  12. Alright, enough of this "ACC is the weaker conference" narrative horse. Here are the numbers as of 25 November: This season the ACC went 6-4 against the SEC, 4-3 against B1G, but 0-2 against the B12, for an overall out-of-conference (OOC) of 12-9. (Of note: the ACC has played the most OOC games of all the P5s, mainly thanks to Florida State.) The "perceived to be mighty" SEC? (Though Georgia and Bama clearly are, no disputing that.) 4-6 vs the "weak" ACC, 1-2 vs the B12, 2-1 vs the Pac-12. They played no B1G teams. Their overall OOC record? 7-9. Want more? Here's the B1G for you: 3-4 vs the "weakest" ACC, 2-1 vs the B12, 0-3 vs the Pac-12. Overall OOC? 5-8. How about that Pac-12? 3-1 versus the B12, 3-0 vs B1G, 1-2 vs the SEC. Their final OOC record? 7-3. Then there's the B12, the only P5 conference to play games against each of the other four P5s: 2-0 vs the ACC, 1-2 vs B1G, 1-3 vs the Pac-12 and 2-1 vs the SEC. Overall OOC? 6-6. So y'all look at those numbers and determine for yourself who's the strongest and who's the weakest again, after it was all said and done between the lines. If more people would dead the media narratives, see past the bias and look at things for themselves, they may be surprised at what they find. Maybe...the ACC is stronger than people give it credit for? Maybe...the SEC isn't as strong as the media machine-driven bias would have folks think?? Maybe, just maybe...the Pac-12 may have a chance??? Now I'll stand by to see who'll go to what lengths to tear into all this, BUT...as Isiah Thomas would say, "those are the facts".
  13. I....l-like it??? Like...a lot???
  14. And I DO love it. But hold up—what's Anthony Duclair doing in San Jose teal???
  15. I KNEW THIS WAS COMING! The absolute second I saw that Cincinnati was rolling with the Jungle Kats alternates this upcoming week, I just knew it in the front of my head that Jacksonville was gonna counter with all-black. In other words: we shall have the ️️️️ Cincinnati Jungle Kats vs the ️ ️ ️ ️ Jacksonville Blaguars. Most appealing uniform matchup we'll ever see...
  16. Well I can't speak to those first base line seats up top...because I didn't sit up there. I was probably a good three or four up underneath the third-base side grandstand. Which while being somewhat obstructive actually turned out for the best once it started drizzling out there.
  17. Ok, I need somebody to explain to me what going on here. I can't figure out what's worse: the fact that UK has chrome helmets at all, or the style of #90s helmet. Thing looks like a chromed out Green Ranger helmet...
  18. Not for nothing, and I have no clue what the Diamondbacks' park looks like, but sometimes those upper level seats are the best in the house. Or at least that's been my experience, Fenway notwithstanding.
  19. I cannot for the life of me figure of why the braindeadtrusts of these multimillion-and-some-multibillion NFL franchises can't seem to figure this out...especially since OL are the guys chiefly responsible for protecting the hundred-soemthing-million-dollar investments called quarterbacks they keep putting out on the field. I mean, the Bills seemed to have figured it out two or three seasons ago, but aside from them and since then? I honestly cannot remember the last time a team put a first-round investment into an O-lineman, and I can't remember at all the last time a team drafted multiple OLs in the same draft (if one ever even has). But then, what do I know? I don't play in the Billionaire Boys Club...yet. Just quoting this to reemphasize the truth.
  20. And then, depending on how one feels about this, LAFC being stood up out there alongside the LA Galaxy.
  21. Soooo basically the same thing that needed to occur in Tallahassee four or so years back to thoroughly and completely exhume the combined stenches left behind by both Jimbo and slick Willie?? That's the only thing keeping me from guffawing my head off right now—well that and the fact that I'm not a total prick. I know way too well what both you guys are feeling. I also know that if not for a/ the fact that Florida State had been a second-half team all season and b/ some of absolute most boneheaded defensive miscues on two of your defensive players, there's a good chance Florida State isn't carrying a goose egg in the loss column any more. As it is, though, imma have this one: undefeated!! (Until the ACC 'ship game, at least.) Look, Florida State/Florida is infinitely better when both teams are on top, and last season's game was the closest both have been at the same time since what, 2002 or something like that?? That's what I'm wanting to see going forward. As for tonight, yeah...mental slip-ups galore. But for a game featuring two starting backups, it turned out just a wee bit better than I expected. (Of course y'alls backup looked better, as I figured would be the case. Rodemaker wasn't horrible, but he wasn't exactly confidence-inspiring, either.) Whatever the case, for y'alls sake I sho' hope that ehatever needs to be shaken out of the swamp gets, well, shaken out of the swamp so your boys can get back up. Like I said, I much prefer when both sides are up.
  22. I don't think anyone expected either Ohio State or Michigan to drop below 4 no matter which team won or lost. Wayyy too much TV $$$ to be lost doing that. And about my Seminoles: >>>>>>--------->. Speared them swamp thangz again.
  23. The black buckets blend in nicely with the black shoulder yoke, so it's perfectly fine to me.
  24. If you ever wanted to know what VGK's colorway would look like in just gold and gray, absent black and red (and in this case, on a white sweater), here you go. The knight mannequin in their team shop is (or was, last time I was there) strictly in gold and gray. I do still wonder how much more streamlined a look VGK would have if they kept it to those two colors, though I suppose a slightest bit of black might help enhance even if only a teeny tiny little bit. As for Seattle, yeah...those things are gonna sell out QUICK. (For those who can afford them.) I'll say this...again...for adidas as they're on their way out the door after this season (though I wish they would have re-upped with the NHL): they do way better at designing for their teams. And at least their retail jerseys still mostly resemble the on-ice product in terms of quality.
