I'm looking for an image of the Patriots 1984 endzone as well. This will tell me if its the same field as '83 or '85, which have different endzone designs.

Found this documentary of the 1984 Seahawks. At 5:31, you can see Luke Prestridge punting from - and Paul Johns returning to - a blank end zone.

Thanks! Looks like they didn't have anything painted on the field. No number outlines or a midfield logo, so different from both '83 and '85.

Just found this amazing board and all the wonderful things on it!  Thought I'd contribute an attempt at capturing the Meadowlands field surface from the Parcells 'glory days' of the late 80's...  (Tried to reproduce the mid-field logo and end zone script, but realize they're far from perfect!)

Very good  job. The End Zone script is really close. The field logo is a but narrow length wise (Enter edges need to extend to the last hash mark on both sides.) and the "stars" showing the different locations of the New Jersey sports commission need to be added in.

I can contribute with one right here. If I can find the 1970's to 1980's Houston Oilers, will that help?

Just got a chance to start reading these now ... I actually just started working on the Oilers playoffs field from '93. I have the field markings done (they had college and high school hashes on the field) and midfield done. Just have to do the endzones, which seem like a standard font. I don't have anything from the 70's / 80's for them though.

I'd agree with these changes, but overall it's close. I haven't been able to get close on the Meadowlands logo only using MS paint.

Ahh ok. I will find some images of their 70's and 80's fields.

Thanks for the kind words (and suggestions!).  Question about the stars in the NJ silhouette - what year were they added? I don't seem to remember them being there from the beginning...??!!  Any and all help in this (and any!) would greatly be appreciated...

Someone posted about this in the beginning of this topic with a good pic. The picture here is from 1995.

This is what I got right now on the center logo. Very raw. ( my primary machine is down, and i'm using an older laptop).

Very nice!  I'm just wondering when they added the additional stars to the silhouette?  In that 1986 NFC Championship game there is only the one star for the Meadowlands complex itself on the silhouette - and it also looks like there's still just that one star on the logo during the Giants-Bears 1990 NFC Divisional game, as well.  So I'm guessing the other stars were added after 1990...  Interesting.

I think it was 1995. I know the field at Giants Stadium went to grass a few years later and then the same type of turf the Pontiac Silverdome had before it closed.

@ETownGMan and @SFCOM1, nice work. Is there a way I can get your full resolution copies? I'd like to get them cleaned up and onto my full sized templates so I can upload them to the GFD website (as long as you are okay with it). I'm going to write a contributors page on the website as well, so I site the correct credits for any work of yours I post up there.
