pagan696
To celebrate the start of a new college football season and as an act of corporate synergy between the Disney-owned companies, ABC, ESPN and Marvel have teamed-up for special edition "Road to the College Football Playoffs" comic book covers. http://comicbook.com/marvel/2016/08/21/marvel-creates-custom-covers-for-first-week-of-college-football Carolina Dreamin' ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ ΓΔΒ When a robotic Nixon is on the loose, we have a duty to take action. MJWalker45
ESPN even shows what cover was used for the Notre Dame vs Texas picture. It was a Daredevil vs Punisher cover.

stumpygremlin
They probably should have just avoided FSU/Miss. They would either have to depict an old white guy fighting a native American, or a bear fighting a native American (Ole Miss's new mascot). The former would be rife to be picked apart as offensive. The latter would call to attention the lack of a rebel and cause an uproar. They went with Plan C, which was abstract. All that does is say, "We had to do something for this game, but didn't want to offend."

I imagine the graphic designers all drawing straws to see who would have to skirt the line of doing the FSU/Ole Miss game. Man, any way they could've gone would've been seen as bad. This is what they were left with I suppose. Other than that, these are all pretty cool to see. "The 0-2 pitch... SWING AND A MISS! STRUCK HIM OUT! THE PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES ARE 2008 WORLD CHAMPIONS OF BASEBALL!" J M yoU wish you had a Duke Dog!

These are all very cool, even if the tigers for LSU/Clemson both look surprised. I think the solution would have been to avoid the game all together, though. But hey, I guess that made too much sense for the suits!

MJWalker45
They should have used the bear for Ole Miss.

It'd be one thing if they used the interlocking UT logo, but that is most certainly the Tennessee power T.

Agreed. But an illustrator might think the curves on the Tennessee Power T looks better than the standard T logo Texas uses.
