Thank you and if you have any questions about your participation in this study please email me at the email above. If you have any questions about your rights as a research participant, you may call the Human Subjects Proection Office at 785.864.7429 or email irb.ku.edu Please respond to the three questions below: 1. Do you consider this a retro uniform? If so, what elements of this uniform make it retro? If not, why don’t you consider it retro? 2. What comes to mind when you see this uniform? And how does this uniform make you feel? 3. Does looking at this uniform make you connect to a time in the past? If so, how does it connect you to that time? JTernup
Unless you are specifically focusing on how people who are fascinated by athletics aesthetics think about uniforms and logos you are going to have very biased data by asking this board. The perceptions, feelings, and knowledge of logos and uniforms of the people on this board are going to be vastly different than a random sample of people. This bias will nullify your data. It's definitely a throwback uniform, even though the pants aren't 100% correct. In this example, the striping is wrong. All the other elements are consistent with the 1977-84 time period in which this set was occasionally used. I would say it's a polarizing style, some fans dislike monochrome baseball uniforms, others enjoy them. This uniform set is linked with strong Pirates teams, and stars like Willie Stargell and Dave Parker, so that would be a positive vibe for Pirates fans. Our memories of the old uniforms are always influence by the players and teams involved, that's a universal situation.
