Still trying to figure out who thought THAT was a good idea???

The referees that need to call fouls certainly don't think having all those numbers is a good idea.

As a Broncos fan, if this is what Denver goes with color me disappointed but not surprised.  I had the feeling with the whole alternate white helmet this year they were gauging how fans felt about it.  And unfortunately there was enough people on social media with "these are fire!" type comments that I kinda figured it was coming.

Things this update is getting wrong if it is indeed true.

  • Sticking with navy blue, should go to a nice royal a little darker than the old.  Think those gorgeous blue sky's you see in Colorado most of the year.
  • 5280 in lieu of a pants stripe.  Wasn't anything learned from the Browns debacle?
  • White helmet
  • Wouldn't mind a subtle mountain theme, maybe sublimated in the stripes, but that mockup is just gaudy.
  • Not updating the D logo, it doesn't need to be a primary, but update it and use it prominently as a secondary.
  •   If going with the white helmet, sticking with the current logo is terrible as others have stated.

The whole snowcapped thing is just a bit lame if you ask me.

The Broncos in white helmets is so amazingly stupid. Before last season, I don’t think they had EVER worn a white helmet. If it’s anything g like those mockups, it’ll be on the level of the Bucs going to the alarm clock disaster set.

People want them to change, but I think Denver’s set is nearly perfect. Only change they should make is go back to the blue jersey for the primary. Anything else is going to be a downgrade.

I sound reverse from the Cleveland Browns having white helmets, but honestly it works for Cleveland because they have a darker jerseys like seal brown.

Denver Broncos however, NO!!! If they go back to academy blue as an accent color and use white helmets to make the orange look good, NOPE!!! NO!!! Hell to the no!!! White helmets do not look great with the default color being orange and the accent color being academy blue. Sure, it works with Tampa Bay because the red was the darker color to the orange juice orange that Tampa Bay used.

BUT, if they stay with navy blue, then it's already a god awful trainwreck of a uniform because the third color will be navy and then white helmets with navy jerseys and white pants will just be the Cowboys 1960-1963 fauxbacks all over again, but with orange as an accent color for the navy alts.

Oh god, I can see it now.

Trying to put the mostly-white demon horse logo on a white shell would make them look like a high school/college team doing some last-minute shell x decal mixing, which is the worst.

This cannot be overstated. That robo-horse is mostly white and would look incomprehensible on a white helmet. Even Elway can see that.

Right?

I will never forgive the 90s for shoehorning navy blue into nearly every team that had blue in their color scheme.

Over/under 0.5 of these will be an actual upgrade?

I'll say that I am cautiously optimistic the Lions will be an upgrade because it will be a Browns-style return to the Barry Sanders-era uniforms, but I bet the other 2 are clear downgrades.

As long as their are stripes on all of the pants, the Lions should be an upgrade. I'm convinced the Broncos will screw up whatever they come up with, and the Texans will probably do something stupid like the LA Kiss with one of their uniforms.

If only teams with bad uniforms were aware of said badness and actually felt inclined to change their uniforms as quickly as possible. This is not always the case. It took the Broncos and Cardinals decades to realize they looked like trash every week.

The Titans and Jets at least have popular throwback uniforms that could make them realize how lousy their regular uniforms are, but the Jaguars seem content in their practice uniforms.

They broncos have had a popular throwback look in their color rush uniform and it still took them forever

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, @Brave-Bird 08 has already debunked that mockup.

That said, I don't think it'd shock any of us in the slightest if Denver does add an alternate white helmet to the rotation. It'd absolutely HAVE to have the D-horse logo for it to work, though. (Unless they have some other alternate mark they're cooking up that we don't know about yet...)

People's hatred of white helmets around here is so weird.

I think it's more hatred of white helmets for Denver specifically, because this was done this year and paired with an all orange uniform and made no sense.

I prefer white helmets, when they look good -- Bills, Colts, Chargers all look superior with white helmets. (I know not everyone agree). Maybe I like the Jets better in green, but that's about it.

But Denver? With a predominantly white logo? And no precedent? No thanks.
