DarthMan Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I tried to mix orange with black evenly. The hats are a throwback. "We have nothing to fear except fear itself."
VanZeppelin1984 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 the jerseys are nice but the hats im not so crazy about Pictures of Baseball Games I have been to^CLICK IT^ very cool site
VitaminD Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 The hats are a throwback? What year? It's not that I don't believe you, but I don't remember them. They came east in '54 with the full bird... cartoon bird in '66... they used a block "B" at home one year... then the white panels in the front in the late '70s... then back to the full bird in the late '80s. I'd love to see photographic evidence of the number hats.I like the uniforms, but I am not likin' the hats. How would you market a "generic Orioles" hat? I guess it like marketing an Alabama helmet... "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
DarthMan Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 The hats are a throwback? I just meant to an earlier time in general "We have nothing to fear except fear itself."
FiddySicks Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Cool concept but imagine the headache New Era would go through creating hats from 1 to 99 in every size On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.)
bulldogbarks55 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 The only "throwback" about your hats are that they're black with an orange brim. The O's never wore a numbered hat. Jerseys are fine.
VitaminD Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I can't think of any MLB team that wore uniform numbers on their caps in place of a logo. So this really isn't a throwback to any "earlier time in general" at all.And as novel concepts go, it's noble but verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry unwieldy. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
GeorgesL Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Here's MY idea of a Baltimore Orioles' alternate concept. If you're looking for an example of uniforms mixing past with present, make it this one:On the socks, I put 2 pairs, one just plain black, the other very nostalgic socks, the ones they used to wear back in the day. These the O's can wear strictly for home games.
VitaminD Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I'm diggin' the stripes on the hose. Very sharp... "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17.
