BaltimoreFan Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 I've been watching the Wizards since they were the Bullets. Personally I liked the team being named Bullets much better than Wizards. Wizards makes no sense, and is just a stupid nickname all together. I know the owner changed it since it sounded violent. I was wondering though is there any chance the Wizards would change their nickname either back to the Bullets or to something that fits Washington better?
Cyclopsis Joe Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Well, after the sniper attacks in DC just..what..2-3 years ago...they will never go back to "Bullets". I don't speak for democrats, democrats don't speak for me.
DEAD! Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Wizards is not a bad nickname for a basketball team. It's just the logo that needs to be fixed. I saw, I came, I left.
Mac the Knife Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Nope; the Bullets will never return to Washington. Guaranteed. But can they change their name again? Yep. Absolutely. There's nothing in any sports league's charter/constitution/bylaws that lock a team into a particular nickname.
HowBoutThemFins Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Wizards isn't so bad. They just need a logo change. If you ask me the New Orleans Hornets are the the ones that need a completely new name, look, etc.
winghaz Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 For some reason, Wizards is popular right now.It wasn't always that way. My hometown high school was originally called the Wizards, and by 1960 the students had had enough of being called "Lizards" by opposing teams. So they switched to Royals.
NJTank Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 Wizards is not a bad name, if they had a good logo it would be no problem. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
