jkrdevil
I was looking through old boxes today and came a across this video i didn't know I had. It was the history of the New Jersey Devils through the first 10 years. Apparently it was made just after the logo change because the box is red and black and has a red and black Devils logo but all the pictures on the bock are Red and Green. But what surprised me was whp was on the cover with a captains c on. (The text came out orange when I scanned it but it is red trust me.)Apparently Yogi Berra was once the Devils captain. It shows how much the organization has come in 12 years. Then they put a baseball player on the cover now they would put some of there players with the Stanley Cup.Thought this would be fun to show. pcgd
Isn't Yogi Berra from St. Louis? Born and Raised if I remember rightly. Also told by then GM of the Cardinals Branch Rickey that he'd never amount to anything more than a AAA ball player.

He is also good frieds of McMullen who owned the team unitll 2000. McMullen also owend the Astros during the rainbow days and Yogi coached for him. The story I heard about Ricky was that Yogi tried out for the Cardinals but Rickey knew he was going to the Dogers and wanted Yogi for the Dodgers so he offered Yogi a small contract. By the time Rickey was ready to sign him for the Dodgers the Yankees had already offered a higher contract to Yogi so he signed with them.

I thought that the 75th anniversary season was 1991-2? I think that was 1991-92 because that was when the Devils celebrated their 10th season and it was also the last year the x-mas tree unis.
