MIAMI (AP) - Philadelphia Eagles defensive end Jerome McDougleis hospitalized after being shot during what police say was arobbery attempt in Miami, Florida. Police say it happened late last night when three peopleapproached McDougle at his car, demanded his wallet and watch, andthen fired several times at him. He was hit once in the stomach. Police say the gunmen were likely teens. They fled on foot andremain at large. The 27-year-old player was airlifted to Jackson MemorialHospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he underwent surgery. Apolice detective tells Philadelphia radio station K-Y-W that theinvestigator who is with him at the hospital says McDougle is ingood condition.
