waggie Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I just flipped the channel to ESPN, and saw the Mets are wearing a black cap that simply reads "Tuesdays Children". Anyone know about this?josh @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats
NJTank Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 The Mets are playing today's game in honor of the victims of 9/11, so I'd have to say Tuesdays Children is likely a 9/11 charity. www.sportsecyclopedia.com For the best in sports history go to the Sports E-Cyclopedia at http://www.sportsecyclopedia.com
waggie Posted September 10, 2003 Author Posted September 10, 2003 yeah, that was just the pitcher I saw, now i notice they are all weraing different stuff. thats pretty cool. @josh_j12 CFA- Fargo Bobcats
Nate15 Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Sabres- I'm going to assume you're in the New York area, under Cablevision (because ESPN is channel 36 here and it'd make sense for ESPN to black out the Met game). Put on MSG (channel 87 here). The Mets are on there.

STL FANATIC Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I realize this was a nationwide tragedy and all of that, but they won't let players write on their hats for a guy (they didn't let the DK last as long as I think some players felt they needed) but they'll let a whole team where different caps. Slightly different situation, but worth noting. That said, nice idea by the Mets. JUSTIN STRIEBEL | PORTFOLIO | RESUME | CONTACT

Saintsfan Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 Tuesday's Children is a charity providing support and care for children who lost relatives at 9/11. (Pretty worthwhile if you ask me!) Saw a report about how the Mets had invited a whole bunch of the kids to yesterdays game on the news this morning (British news that is!) 2011/12 WFL Champions
