Intimidator85
I read the article several times, and I did not see where Artest said he wanted to leave Indiana. He also never said he wanted to be traded. What he said was being taken out of context by the writer. Really, all he said was that he didn't like playing for Carlisle, he caused a lot of problems for the Pacers and that he'd be starting fresh somewhere else. This is not uncommon for players to feel this way, as many of them don't like the way their coach runs things. Artest could very well patch things up with the team and remain a Pacer for the rest of the season, or maybe the remainder of his career.
WSU151
Well he doesn't like playing for Carlisle, and he doesn't want Carlisle to be fired...all the while saying the Pacers would be better off without him. That's pretty much asking to be traded or be released, in so many words. Definitely not out of context. He's begging the Pacers to get rid of him so he's not a problem/distraction. Cujo
I think any player who requests to be traded should be dealt to Atlanta.
