OHLArenaGuide
Lots of teams sell opposing teams' sweaters in the NHL. Most of the teams that don't are the ones that don't have a "team store" where they have the shelf room for it.Offer any NHL team $75,000 a year and odds are they'll take it. VitaminD
Sweet! I have another reason to get back to the ATL. My old Flyers' #88 isn't getting worn anytime soon, and I can score a new sweater for that piece of garbbagio, so much the better. It's a good idea, even if it is forcing homogeneity a little bit instead of allowing it to mature over time. I remember going to a lot of Hurricanes games the first year they came south, and the locals were always outshouted by the transplants. I wore my 'Canes jersey for most games to support the new team... except when the Flyers came to town. Then it's the ol' orange and black. "Start spreading the news... They're leavin' today... Won't get to be a part of it... In old New York..."In order for the Mets' run of 12 losses in 17 games to mean something, the Phillies still had to win 13 of 17. FiddySicks
The thing im curious about is, if you turn in an old, yet authentic, jersey that you dont wear anymore, will they match you with an authentic, or just a cheap ass promo jersey with some sponsors logo on it? And if they are hitting it up with Authentics, what if you turn in a cheapo jersey?EDIT: Nevermind, didnt read the whole article. got it now On 11/19/2012 at 7:23 PM, oldschoolvikings said: She’s still half convinced “Chris Creamer” is a porn site.) fleaster
Anybody in the ATL want to exchange a jersey for an Ohioan?
spyboy1
First of all, they can donate all the jerseys that get turned in to ME! I'd love first dibs on that lot.Second, Any chance you bring in a customized Flyer Lindros 88, you leave with a customized Kovlachuk, or just a blank equivalent quality sweater?Third, I wonder why the whites aren't included? Oh well, it still sounds like a heckofadeal. I could easily see a team doing a "Bring in another team's jersey and get 50% off" or even 25%, so a even exchange is actually quite remarkable.Oh, for the record, the Wild only sell the Wild gear, plus a selection of Minnesota North Stars stuff.JeffB Click here to read Third String Goalie - The Hockey Jersey of the Day Blog Click here to see my hockey and baseball jersey collection online ?You don?t like to see 20 kids punching 20 other kids. mfoster
I think it's a great idea. I suggested the same thing a few seasons ago while broadcasting for an NAHL team. The Lone Star Cavalry played in a facility vacated by the Texas Tornado, who moved across town to Frisco (north of Dallas). There were still lots of Tornado fans (many remained Tornado season ticket holders despite the 60-90 minute drive and massive increase in ticket prices) in the area, so I suggested to the GM that the team offer a jersey trade out. Then, in a bit of rivalry intensification (not that we needed it, one game resulted in about 414 PIMs and about 70 games worth of combined suspensions), we'd hold a purification ceremony (bonfire) to purge the spirits of the Tornado from their former home rink. Ideally, we'd have done it at center ice, but that probably would have presented problems. Still, we had a section of the arena where it might have worked.I also suggested hanging a Tornado jersey on a dartboard along with a picture of their GM/head coach Tony Curtale and offering three dart tosses for a buck.Alas, the Cavalry GM was a wee bit too conservative and never went for these ideas. That summer the team moved to Santa Fe.Oh well, maybe we'll get to do it one day. There's always hope another team will come to the rink. And for those of you who freak at the idea of burning jerseys, the original Texas Tornado jerseys were horrific. Here's the logo: The jersey was downhill from there.Marc
