JohnnyFriedRice
It would be a disgrace if the Packers or Bears wore a throwback or alt in one of their games. heh, you must not be too observant. as mentioned previously, the 94 Halloween night beatdown between the Pack and the Bears (Packers in 40s throwbacks, Bears in 20s throwbacks)...not to mention other 94 games (Patriots-Packers, both in throwbacks). then when the Thanksgiving games used throwbacks, the Packers wore '39(IIRC) throwbacks agains the Lions (though they looked like practice unis) and then two years later, again in Detroit, they wore Lombardi-era unis with the only modification being the TV numbers were moved up to the shoulders. Bears-Cowboys in 04, the Bears donned orange jerseys (IIRC 1935 throwbacks) and the old white C.did I think they were disgracing themselves? hell no. if they'd gone out in t-shirts they just got at Goodwill 5 minutes before the game, then it'd be a disgrace. 1994 is an exception because every team wore throwbacks to honor the 75th anniversary of the NFL. Some for the entire season, some for a couple games.
nsentv
When I mean big games, I don't really mean games like Thanksgiving (I'm okay with throwbacks on Thanksgiving) and such. I mean rivalry games (Celtics-Lakers) or playoff/Finals games. If the rivalry game (say Packers-Bears) falls on a special night, like Thanksgiving, then I wouldn't really have a problem with the throwbacks/alternates then. usahockeyrube
When the Stars won the Cup in '99, they were wearing their third jersey. The next year it became their regular jersey.
philly97flyer
The Dolphins have been undefeated wearing their Orange alts or all-aqua combo. My Eagles knocked off the Dolphins in 2003 on MNF when they wore the all aqua.
Max Power
I am a White Sox fan, and I loved that they didn't wear the black alternate jerseys during the playoffs. I love those jerseys, but they have worn them way way too much in the past few years. From 2001-2004, the Sox probably wore the black jerseys more often than the grey on the road. I think the greys are among the best unis in sports, so I was thrilled when they wore them more in 2005. And every time they got soaked with Champagne, they were wearing the greys. I agree. Though I believe the wore the home vests (they barely qualify as an alternate) during the Boston series because they were on a winning streak while wearing them. Then after losing the first game to Anaheim in the vests they went to the traditional home uniforms the rest of the way. In general I agree that teams should not wear alts or throwbacks in big games, but it works in certain situations. Like wearing throwbacks for a Bears-Packers playoff game or a Blackhawks-Red Wings playoff series. I thought it was cool that all the SEC teams wore throwbacks during the conference tourney. EatSleepJeep
When the Stars won the Cup in '99, they were wearing their third jersey. The next year it became their regular jersey. Which is also an adaptation of the All-Star Game jerseys from 96 & 97 and one of my favorite designs in all of sports, bias or no.
MidwestEagle
The Philadelphia Eagles have won 1 game in their black jerseys. I wanna know how many times they wore their "Home" green jerseys last season?
