Oh, and bucfan: Have fun watching Omaha smack your RiverKittens around tomorrow night. :P

I've only been to 3 minor league games. 1 was at Lackawanna County Stadium in Moosic, PA for a Red Barons (AAA Phillies) game. The place was designed to be like the Vet. Needless to say, it was ugly. The second game was at Riverside Stadium in Harrisburg to see the Senators (AA Nationals) play. The location was nice as its on an island, but the ballpark itself is old and mediocre. The other place I was at was Blair County Ballpark in Altoona to see a Curve (AA Pirates) game. That place is very nice. The outside looks great, and it has one of the best backdrops in baseball. Lakemont Park, a small amusement park, sits right next to BCB, and it's best coaster, the wooden Skyliner, sits literally 10 feet behind the right field wall. Excellent view, my favorite minor league park by far.

I've been to three minor league stadiums and thought they both were excellent.

Victory Field in Indianapolis:

And the Louisville Bats stadium, Slugger Field

(who knew louisville had a skyline??)

And Fox Cities Stadium, HOme of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the DIII College World Series.

Like I said, All were great. I actually got to see Nomar play a rehab start in Indy which was really cool. And another time i got to sit in the Luxury Boxes which is quite an experience. Free food and beer, can't beat that. Helps having a friend who works for Reebok :D I think my favorite of those 3 is Victory Field though.

Now that I'm moving to Chicago, I'm looking forward to partaking in some minor league games.

There are some nice minor league stadiums in the Chicago land area.

Alexia Field home of the Schamburg Flyers:

Interesing note: The dimentions mimic wrigley field.

Really that's the best stadium for minor league baseball in the chicago land area. there are some other nice ones (The Steel Yard in Gary, but who wants to go to Gary? and the stadium in Joliet, but again, who wants to go to Joliet? :D) but it seems to be the tops for now.

The only Minor League stadium I've ever been to is the Ballpark at Harbor Yard in Bridgeport, CT -- home of the Bridgeport Bluefish. Pretty nice, though it doesn't compare to some of these other ones.

I think that's a really cool backdrop, plus there's a train just barely beyond the right field wall that goes by occassionally throughout the game. You can also see the ferry that goes back and forth to Long Island when it goes out beyond the Centerfield wall in the Long Island sound. Beyond the left field wall is the Arena at Harbor Yard, home of the Bridgeport Bluefish.

Like I said, nice stadium, but it doesn't compare to some of the others posted.

Doing some Minor League roadies this summer. Just to the ones within 4 hours of Topeka.

First stop: St. Joseph Blacksnakes on Saturday May 20th.

Ballparks on the list:

Rosenblatt Stadium (Omaha)

Lawrence Dumont Stadium (Wichita)

Community America Ballpark (Kansas City)

I'll also be going to the NL ASG in Kansas City. Got my tickets yesterday.

I've made a sig for my Summer Baseball Extravaganza.
