Breakwood
I've only ever been to two minor-league parks. Interestingly both time I saw the same franchise play. I went to see the New Haven Ravens at Yale field, a long time ago and last summer I went to see the New Hampshire Fishercats (ex-ravens) play the Norwich Navigators in Norwich, Conn. Norwich's stadium was quite nice, but it was in the middle of some industrial park, that was hard to get there. Yale field was really old, but it was still quite nice, had a nice vintage feel.Nothing beats minor-league baseball, I hope I can do a roadtrip through the North-eastern states sometime to take in some ballgames. therebelas
Raley Field is nice (and walking distance from home) but AutoZone Park in Memphis is nicer.Agreed. It's great that Memphis and Sacramento always battle it out for the minor league attendance crown. I had never seen Sacramento's stadium until now, very nice, but like you said, not as nice as AutoZone. Then again, no one has ever spent $80 million (private, NOT public dollars) on a minor league stadium, so it had better be nice!
winters in buffalo
the new D.A.P.(Durham Athletic Park) is pretty nice. wish i could find some photos of it. Yeah, DBAP is pretty nice. Intimate little park. They draw well there, too. I was in the Capitol Broadcasting suite last week. First class for a minor league park. I always like Dunn Tire Park (or whatever it's called these days) back home in Buffalo. It's big for a minor league park. It was at the forefront of the whole new stadium craze... sort of the Camden Yards of AAA ball. The only other minor league park I've been to is Five County Stadium. Not bad for a AA park. I haven't been to Five County since they expanded it several years ago.The DBAP is great though... particularly the luxury suites. I take my org's board there once a year and rent a suite - not terribly expensive considering, and you always have a good time.
jrh31584
Our minor league park was a dump, so I'll go with Sarge Frye Field, home of Gamecock baseball.

winghaz
Raley Field in Sacramento. ABSOLUTELY nothing tops it.Oh, wow, that's really close to downtown and, better yet, close to Old Sacramento. Fantastic location! And I love the view of the bridge.(By the way, the reason I know about that is because I have a sister who lives in Lodi, and she used to live in Davis. I used to go to Sacramento for the Dixieland jazz festival in Old Sac.)Here in Fargo, we have a fantastic place to watch the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks in Newman Outdoor Field. Great atmosphere, great food (if you haven't eaten Cloverdale hot dogs, you need to), great beer, great sightlines and usually great baseball in a pretty modern facility. But the best minor league park has to be Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, especially for the College World Series. That's the way baseball was meant to be played, except for that darn ping of the bats in colleges.
JBPerry
Another good ballpark is Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco. I've only seen the outside of it. (I went to IKEA Frisco when it first opened) But, I've heard it's a nice stadium. Here's some pics. <embed src="http://www.clocklink.com/clocks/5005-Blue.swf?TimeZone=CST&TimeFormat=hhmmssTT" width="180" height="60" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash">joshuabperry@sbcglobal.netMy Webpage
infrared41
Gotta go with Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater, Florida, home of the Single A affiliate of the Phillies, the Clearwater Threshers. Agreed. I don't know if it's the nicest one out there but "Bright House" is the nicest Minor League park I've ever been to. Canal Park in Akron isn't bad either. I'm hitting Toledo's new park sometime this summer.
DGivens87
Hub, it sounds like you're in the New England area...if so, you HAVE to make it to McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket. AAA baseball at its finest, IMO. Box seats are $9, there really isn't a bad seat in the house, concessions are reasonably priced, people who work there are very friendly, and there are a couple of prospects there as we speak (Craig Hansen and Jon Lester). IMO, you cannot get a better value for your money. Other minor league ballparks that I've been to are Harbor Park (Norfolk, VA), New Britain's old Beehive Field and Hadlock Field (Portland, ME). I liked Harbor Park ALOT, Beehive Field SUCKED, and Hadlock Field was nice, but I was not impressed with the area around the Field. A large cheese pizza, just for me.New England's source for soccer newsAnd hey, I made it to ESPN!
