benpc21
I have a much smaller jersey collection in the 25-30 range, and today I just picked up a Colorado Avalanche dark Tanguay jersey (when he wore #18) and I'm hoping to replace the last name with Deadmarsh (on a nameplate as the Avs used) as Adam was my hero when I was a kid and I dont have a dark Avs jersey of his. I figured this would be the group to ask, has any one ever done anything similar? If so how much did it cost and where did you get it done? Since I'm looking only to get the last name changed how much should I expect it to cost? I plan on contacting Exclusive Pro Sports and Ive sent an email to 20west sports, but with them you have to apply the name yourself, so I'm iffy on that.ThanksBen
fashman23
Probably about $10 to strip the name if it is on a nameplate, but I thought the Avalanche don't use nameplates. I may be wrong I will check my jersey when I get home tonight. If it is sown directly to the jersey probably $20 to strip. Then you are looking at roughly $25 for the new name. That is ballpark.Rob

I thought there might have been a period where they had nameplates becuase of the arc of the name, but I'm not sure, I know I've seen them on ebay w/ nameplates but that could be just a mistake by the person who did the jersey. I also saw the nameplates on NHLuniforms.com in the 2001-01 season (and others) and since that was when Deader last played in Colorado, I was kind of going off that, but looking now alot of teams have them and I'm not sure how accurate that is, so any info would be appreciated. Right now, what I'm thinking is that eventhough I'm usually a stickler for things of that nature, for the $25 I got the jersey for I could afford to either leave or strip the old name on and put a name plate over the original. So basically anotehr $25 doesnt seem that bad. Thanks for the info.
ebod39
I have both home and road versions of that jersey. I have a Karyia #9 Home and a #20 Rucchin. The thing I don't like about those jerseys is the mesh underarm pieces.maybe you should sell them..... to me.

By far the biggest bummer of the Blake deal was seeing Deadmarsh go to a team I cant frickin stand. Him, Dan Hinote, and Joe Sakic are the reasons why I can tolerate, if not even root for, the Avalanche. I saw him play for the Winter Hawks when I was in the first grade and I remeberd the name when I got this Fleer rookie card a few years later just the fact I had seen him play made him my fav player, but once I saw how he played I knew I had made the right choice, the grit he played with was awsome. Over the years I've picked up an autoed white avs jersey and this summer got the purple alt (with the crest, not the crown) kings jersey and decided I needed to expand the collection if I got the chance. That brings me to today where I got my hands on the Tanguy jersey, and I dont mind Tanguay, I just figured, I have the chance to get another Deader jersey I can wear to Winter Hawks games (where he is still an all time fan favourite) I might as well. spyboy1
Problem is, I left 200 in the dust a while back and am now facing a storage crisis. I can cram one rack really full without getting busted but, aside from the fact I don't have space for a second rack, a second one would set off some serious alarms around the house that the collection has indeed been growing despite my claims to the contrary.Sounds like someone needs to call Public Storage... and come clean to the Mrs. Try this approach:"Hey, at least it's not crack... or other women... or smoking crack with other women."I periodically send her photos like this saying "You may think I'm bad, but I could be way worse" Click here to read Third String Goalie - The Hockey Jersey of the Day Blog Click here to see my hockey and baseball jersey collection online ?You don?t like to see 20 kids punching 20 other kids. My wife was completely onboard to getting married either at center ice of a Flyers-Sabres game (me in the visiting Sabres jersey and only in Philly would they boo the groom probably)or at homeplate before a Phillies game. Of course we didn't do either, but she was up for it if we decided to.

He had a game worn jersey of a player who later died. While trying to unsucessfully contact the family, the players sister contacted him with an offer to buy the jersey. He gave it to them, and the player's sisters will be surprizing their parents with their late son's game jersey this Chirstmas.Awesome gesture.
