BB61
And I'm proud to say that I was at one of his last games in 2007, on my one and only trip to the old Yankee Stadium.Amazing to think that he was still working that job at the age of 97.
tp49
I would have loved to hear him do opening day at the new stadium then retire. Bob Sheppard is a class act. I used to go to the same church as he when I was a child and he was a lector (except during football season). I always felt like I was at Yankee Stadium when I heard him read. TurnTwo
"There are three things that are perfectly Yankee - the pinstripes, the logo and Bob Sheppard's voice. When I go to heaven, I want Bob Sheppard to announce me."-Billy CrystalYour voice will be missed, Bob. I'm glad I got to hear it on a 2007 trip to the Bronx. scottysprings
Hearing the voice of Bob Sheppard was truly one of the greatest things about going to Yankee Stadium.
nyk
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/articl...sp&c_id=nyyYankees.com is sayin that the report of Bob Sheppard retiring is untrue. He just wont be at the opening of the new Yankee Stadium.
