Lee.
I never "claimed" anything. I guess the point I was trying to make is that there are too many minor league teams (just My opinion)and,if there were 20 to say 24 teams in the NHL we would be watching a better quality version than what we are seeing now. Once again (just My opinion)If there were no salary cap, then sure. But with less teams, demand for the premier players goes up, and so if Ovechkin is worth, say $8M now, then with 24 teams he's worth $12M, and so there are fewer mid-line players in the league, and more lower-end, $1M and under salaried guys to fill out the rosters. If there were only 20 or 24 teams in MLB, where there is no cap and therefore potentially unlimited payrolls, then okay, there may be a better product on the field, all teams would be able to spend as much as they wanted to field the best team(s) possible. In a salary cap situation, with less teams and therefore less overall league revenue, it simply is not the case.Supply and demand, simple economics. rvrdgsfn
Would I like to see this happen? Yes, yes I would. Make it seven, if Quebec gets in, I'd say go for it.
GeorgesL
It would be a long time coming to seeing the NHL return to Quebec (City). I've been a longtime Nordiques fan, till the unthinkable happened back in '95. The Habs are the greatest hockey team in history, but hey, I like a little intra-provincial rivalry. Lee.
Bill Daly just said on the airwaves that Quebec is on the top of possible cities to get a NHL team (via expansion or transfer)Of course he did. They aren't going to say through the media that ANY market is out of luck when it comes to getting an NHL franchise. Christ, if Billings built a 17k seat arena, then they'd be at the top of the list too. Welcome to DrunjFlix

You're the new Winnipeg when it comes to "markets the NHL will not speak ill of on the record."
