Chicago Bulls Re-Brand Concept

I've been following the progression of this thing, and I certainly do commend your creative prowess in churning out one of the more unique concept identities I've seen for a while. Having said that, and without trying to sound ticky-tacky, here's a few things I'll point out:

- I like the idea of the full-bodied Bull logo...definitely a fresh idea and twist on the Bulls identity. However, it also looks both very young and stocky...almost kinda favors a rhinoceros, if you will. If you could find some way to trim some of the fat out of that bull, possibly by lengthening the limbs (real bulls actually have pretty skinny legs), I think it'd make it look more grown-up. Also, the grimacing teeth might also need to go. I think that's mainly where some of the "kiddiness" of this logo is coming from. If you look at your secondary logo (which I actually believe should be your primary...but that might require a reworking of your script mark), that bull looks much angrier, because it shows no teeth. Speaking of which...

- I think maybe you should trim your eyeballs down a good bit more in your secondary logo. Though the eyebrows are definitely in an angry pose, the eyes still almost have a deer in the headlight look to them. I like the idea of keeping the perfect circles, but perhaps tuck the eyes up under those brows a bit more to really give it that mean-muggin' look that I can tell you're going for. (By the way...have you thought about exploring the possibility of a bull-ring in the nose??? B) )

- Lastly...the script mark. For some reason, it's arched just a little bit too much...you may wanna look at taking some of that arch out. While you're doing that, look closely at the top convex and the bottom concave of your standalone script mark--the black outline is not lining up with either the top or bottom curvatures. As far as the letter themselves, I'd like to see you try fitting some serifs in there some kind of way (I'm seeing something along the lines of the current St. Louis Rams wordmark), to give the letters a bolder and, well, "tougher" appeal. Lastly, the horns of the "B" and the "S"...I think you should try to mimic the shape of the horns in your secondary logo a little more closely--in a word, eliminate the obvious roundness of the points of the horns. As far as the "CHICAGO" goes...I'd look for a more blocky font to use if you're going to radially arch it like that...for some reason, rounder letters don't read too well when rendered that way.

To wrap all this up...I really do like this project; I also see the potential for where this could possibly go. And, I know I just threw a lot of C&C at you, cat...but I recall all of your past work both on your MLB and all those NFL concepts you posted. You're quickly cutting your teeth as one of the better artists/designers/concepters/whatever-one-wishes-to-call-it around here, in my opinion, and so I know that you are more than able to really develop this product into a top-notch concept. And to be honest, I really wouldn't expect anything less from you...but no pressure. ^_^

I think that the face logo is still off and it has nothing to do with eyebrows (as cattle don't really have any hairy brows). IMO there needs to be more forehead and the eyes should come down and back. Cattle's eyes are on the sides of their heads, the logo has them on the front. Here is a sculpture that shows te face well:

Keep working on it.

im not a fan of the updated tertiary logo thats supposed to ressemble the current primary. go back to the version you had before that actually looks like the face from your primary. just adjust the accented black mark on the top his nose that goes up to his forehead, make it bigger and more pronounced, like in the primary.

the rest i like. good work.
