Alouettes baseball concept

I am in the process of creating a fantasy baseball team called the Alouettes, and I was trying to come up with a perfect cap logo before I move on creating a primary logo, uniforms, etc.

After reviewing many ideas, I decided to go the Orioles' route, and create something like this:

Here's the same logo on a navy blue field:

And finally this is what the logo would look like on a cap:

I tried to make the bird look as colourful as I could. I drew the bird by hand, then scanned it, and put in all the colours, because drawing this on a computer from scratch would take way too much time.

1)I personally think the logo is too detailed.

2)I think its too similar to the O's. But then again, there are only so many ways to draw a bird.

Agreed. I wanted to do one without the "thorns" on the body, or whatever it's called.

I don't really think it's that much similar to the O's.

However, I do agree there's a little too much detail in some parts. Like for the belly for instance, I think the dotted/hashed lines should be more linear. Either that or take them out completely. My other suggestions is to fix the expression on the beak a bit. He looks a wee bit melancholy. Maybe that's just me?

Eh, I guess it resembles it a lot more than I thought. But, it's still a good looking bird. I wish more teams would incorporate birds on ball caps.

I removed the "thorns" and made alterations to the lines on the chest, as well as the tail feathers.

The Alouettes wordmark looks a lot like the Milwaukee Brewers wordmark. I like it.
