DustDevil61
It's not terrible, and is consistent with their established identity, but I'm getting tired of this generic-text trend. http://i.imgur.com/Pyc5qRH.gifhttp://i.imgur.com/RDXvxFE.gif LED Sig Credits to packerfan21396

BrandMooreArt
congrats to the 3rd year student who won this "contest" beating out some pro agencies apparently. the logo is safe and boring. i suppose thats fine for JCP, but its really close to Target. id imagine the in store signage and advertising will be similar to the logo; red and white blocks with helvetica. not sure how this appeals to a "younger crowd" unless their idea of a younger crowd is late 20s+. yes minimalism is modern design and what is always modern will always be acceptable, this redesign just seems about 30 years too late. the difference between simple and boring is simple is effective, boring isnt. i believe its boring but we'll have to wait and see what happens. Made it up there last weekend to take advantage of all the half-off sales they had, and I could see new the signage taking root. I don't know when they'll get around to changing any of the exterior signage--but then again, according to the local news, that particular store is slated to close anyway, so there you go. *Disclaimer: I am not an authoritative expert on stuff...I just do a lot of reading and research and keep in close connect with a bunch of people who are authoritative experts on stuff. || dribbble || Behance ||
