Texas Theological University - Logo/unis

Comments and glorious praise always welcome!

This logo/Unis combination is for Shizznick's College Fantasy team. He provided the name, the idea of a bull with wings... and I think green.

The following is what I came up with.

Going to college gets you closer to the real world, kind of like climbing a tree gets you closer to the moon.

paynomind went with a look that would say that this school has been around a long time and is steeped in tradition. I think he nailed it.

Thanks, guys...

Although.. It kinda worries me you keep saying they are AA level-looking. Does that mean they look bad? Or do they just look simple, clean, long-standing, and distinguished?

Like, Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, Navy, been-the-same-forever kinda looking?

I like everything except the font used on the logo... It looks like it belongs on a Smashing Pumpkins album cover, not a sports logo.

Other than that, the logo does look classic and the uniforms are nice and clean.

I would say D-2 because it doesnt look like it would be a high powerhouse type school from the logo which is good, considering the name is Texas Theological after all...heh its a good job either way, i do agree with Avenger about the font, though

Can you explain the logo? Is it a bull? Is it Pegasus? What is a fighting Luke? I'd be prone to go for a darker shade of green with the gold to go for a more distinguished look.

The use of colours in the uniforms is very nice.

Here is a page about Luke the Saint... check out the picture.. a winged bull :D

Saint Luke

The font thing.... well, I dont agree with you guys. While it isn't Impact Bold Italic, or something 'sporty' it think it fits *this* institution very well. In my estimation, this is a school of Theology, so football wasn't their first priority when designing their workmarks. I imagine the primary designs to have been done in the teens or early 20s, and havent been changed since. The football uniforms were spruced up a few years ago, but only because they signed a sponsorship deal with Nike, and Nike didnt want to do the plain white and plain green from previous.

Thats my theory, at least.
