Seattle Mariners Teal Jersey

Why could they not bring back the teal brim on their hats? I think they are one of a few teams who only have one hat with all their uniforms.

I'd imagine I'm in the minority, but I miss both the old teal hats (first fitted hat I ever bought) and the compass rose/silver bill hats (best fitting fitted hat I ever owned).

Has there ever been any explanation as to why the Mariners use a pretty much standard block font on all of their jerseys except the navy alt? That bugs me to no end.

As of now, the Mariners only have one cap in their set. Bringing back a cap that features some sort of teal would be a great addition. Whether it's the teal brim or the teal cap with navy brim, I'm all for it. Make the teal the home cap and the all navy the road cap.

This was from last year when they brought back teal. As you can see, they had the teal brim cap. I expect that to return next year.

The compass silver bill was super sweet. It would go so well with their navy alternates. But since the team is now focusing so much on teal, it kind of seems like they are phasing out the silver. But man, did it look good.18689.jpg

They need to bring back the navy alts from 1999 when the moved into Safeco, navy with white piping and Seattle on the fronts. And I personally prefer the block numbers to the alt ones for the M's.

The only hat needed to be brought back is the navy/teal cap. The teal crowned cap was cool back in the day and a cap I really wanted, but would be too much today. Metallic billed caps are better left in the 90's. Never looked right.

Well, if a team is going to wear a throwback look, might as well go full throwback. The 90s had some interesting looks, but it's unique enough that I would like to see it again

They're not wearin it as a throwback. It's an alternate jersey based on the still current look that they have. Yes they've used it in the past, but it's still relevant to what the wear now. The only difference in the set from back then is no teal brimmed cap. Lettering is still trimmed in teal and it's very much a part of heir brand identity. It's not a throwback jersey.

One of the users on the users here e-mailed the Mariners a couple of months back to ask about the teal-brim hats. The team rep said there was no plan to bring them back for 2012 but "they are always evaluating fan feedback" or something to that effect.

Go Astros!

Go Texans!

Go Rockets!

Go Javelinas!

I didn't say it was a throwback. I said it was a throwback look, meaning what they're wearing looks like something they used to wear. Which is why that if they're going to make one part of their set look like the mid 90s jersey, might as well finish it

That would imply the intentive purpose of the jersey is for the 90's look when it could just be a teal version of their home uniform.

I guess to me, since they brought it back last year as a throwback, to me it is a throwback set. Of course, they brought it back this year as part of their new set. It's a little bit of both and since I like to view it as a homage to the 90s rather than a completely new look that happens to be teal, I would like to see them add said teal cap to the mix.

Either way, keep the teal jerseys and add a cap with some teal on it and I'll be happy.

They wore it once last year for a throwback game and this offseason, they've made it their home alternate (Friday games) and the dark blue alternate is now strictly for the road. They might consider bringing back the blue cap with a teal bill next year too.

Great answer I read exactly what u mentioned...and if the teal brimmed cap comes back ill be siked..i just bought one from lids (mlb coop editions are sick!)

Not necessarily. When MLB Network re-airs Mariner games from the 90s, you'll see hundreds of those teal hats in the stands (and only a few of the solid navy ones).

Fans love the teal. Though, for some reason, the owners wanted to downplay it as much as possible. They're finally realizing that they've been making a mistake all this time. ^_^

I agree with everyone else. The shade of teal the M's use has too much blue in it. If the teal was more green it'd look SO much better with the navy.
