I called New Era and spoke to a woman from customer service who had no clue about the stars. The NE.com store customer service was even less helpful. if anyone hears about the availability of these, please post.

Yeah, you're not going to find one anywhere but on the players heads. If you really want one, then buy this (or this; I don't know if you're Red Sox krazy or White Sox krazy) and find two gold stars at some craft store to sew on the back (if you can sew).

I think trying to sell the caps with stars is going to be a risky venture that could open a whole new door for New Era that could either be very successful or a huge failure. Player customized jerseys are a pretty big hit, but I could see player customized hats going either way. It's a way to sell multiples of basically the same hat to fans, but it could be very expensive to create an if the fans don't buy into the idea of dropping up to 40 bucks per hat for the same piece of equipment, like they do at a higher price for jerseys, it could go down in flames fast.
