The Reds have placed stars on the back of the jersey on both sides of the MLB logo. The stars are gold and outlined in red. It looks ten times better than the Braves hat. However they could be on Cincy's hat too as the video I saw only showed jerseys.

If the patch idea is true, I would like that. But teams like the Royals with two patches will have to get creative. They're Joplin patch when they played the Cardinals looked out of place, although that was a great idea for a fundraiser.

You say this as if kids who play baseball are too stupid to figure out who is a good player.

Well, Derek Jeter IS an All Star this season.

So tomorrow Starlin Castro, the Cubs' lone All Star, will have stars on his hat. I'll be there, in the nation's capitol, the head of the 50 states. Each state is represented by a star on the US flag. The forecast calls for clear skies, which would generally result in a starry night if it weren't for the big city pollution.

Too many stars for my taste. ^_^

It looks tacky. In all honesty, they should use the star treatment for the game ONLY.

I had a thought earlier to do what the NBA does for the All-Star game and use a star for each year a said player. But then it would be too cluttered for some guys.

Well played, for this year, at least - Jeter could be an All Star every year and I wouldn't mind.

Smart is believing half of what you hear. Genius is knowing which half.

You say this as if kids who play baseball are too stupid to figure out who is a good player. How many Little League World Series have we seen where, when asked who his favorite player is, the kid responds "I don't know. MLB really doesn't promote stars, and I really don't know who the good players are, and therefore, I don't know which one to pick."??

If causal kids want to find out who the best players are, they'll watch the home-run derby and the All-Star game...not look for stars on the back of hats.

No, they wouldn't say that. They just wouldn't know which players were good, so they'd come up with someone random like Miguel Cairo.

I like the idea, but it looks bad on those Braves hats.

Use one star, make it a little smaller, and place it above the mlb logo on the back, or on the side of the cap and I think it would look pretty cool.

What if a player is having a god-awful season, does he get a turd patched on there or what?
