  1. Hell it doesn't even have to be green and gold that potentially moves. The name and logos really fit any color scheme. As long as they keep the elephant and white shoes theyre set.
  2. The Giants fans I know all embrace the totality of the Giants history. But as you said, a lot of that probably has to do with the lack of titles during the SF run. Even with the 3 this decade, and honestly we should have 4 if Dusty doesnt blow it in Game 6, I still take pride in the fact that my team is one of the oldest in baseball history and has had 2 homes. NY and SF.
  3. I'm more torn than I thought I was in regards to this. I'm actually ok with the Cleveland situation. I think it has to do with how long and storied a history they had. I like to think of the Ravens as an expansion fanchise who's roster was made from the Contraction/Hiatus of the Cleveland Browns. None of the stink of Belicheck and those terrible teams of the early 90s. I'm also ok with the Giants and A's and Dodgers being continuous from their beginning to now. As a Giants fan I like being able to share history with someone from New York who was around during their time there and is still a fan even after the move. The Giants and dodgers have spent almost equal time on both coasts and both teams have done a great job of presenting their history. On the flipside had the Kings moved to Seattle or VA Beach the history should have ended here in Sac as to that's where their success and fandom really flourished. ( Yes the lone championship came in Rochester, although 02*) I don't think Rochester or Cincy or KC are clammoring for or missing the Royals/Kings. Ultimately I think its a case by case basis.
  4. I have diagreed and generally disliked most of your posts I have read. But this right here is exactly what it should be.
  5. In fairness that's because they were trying to get a stadium deal with someone. Oakland wasnt budging so to piss them off just like Davis' are known to do they go with just straight Raiders. Sell merch to LA fans that think they had hope of returning. And now to potential Vegas fans prior to the move.
  6. Not entirely so. Take for instance the most recent almost sonicsgate / Anaheim Royals / Virginia Beach whatever. Sacramento did the right thing and worked with the new kings ownership in footing the bill for the Golden 1 Center. Kept the Kings in town, which is huge for a small market team. Not only has it kept the 43 nba games it gets, it's also spiked the amount of concerts and shows that now no longer avoid Sacramento (arco was terrible logistically for loading in shows, always hated those load ins.) On top of that it has completely revitalized downtown Sacramento with a new hotel, shops and restaurants, all which didnt exist when the downtown plaza pretty much went under. While it might not work in all cases, a partnership between city and team on a facility can greatly benefit both parties.
  7. In fairness to the Angel's their ballpark is the 4th or 5th oldest in the league. Just cause someone gets a boob job and some lipo in their 50's , doesn't make them younger. They've had a well know rat problem at the stadium. And while enjoy going to games there. I can see why they really could use a new stadium. A lot of bad awkward sightlines from it being a multipurpose previously in life.
  8. Different time period no? Since 1980 DFW had 3 teams then the 4th Stars came in 94ish right? While I take that into consideration, I dont include MLS as one of the 4 even though its popularity is gaining. I just think the allure of spending a week in vegas and catching a couple games, or even catching my team on a road trip is not just of my own.
  9. Morano would definitely want to keep LA in the name. If I was the county I'd force him to change it to OC Angels at the very least. (They should still be Anaheim, Anaheim is sure as hell not LA)
  10. While need is subjective, I see it working. Vegas is an always populated city. The locals there are huge sports fans and would be no less support than the Ray's or A's or Marlins get currently. Couple that with the tourism aspect and the influx weekly of new people, could easily make up the rest of a capacity for the stadium to sell out. (While in the A's case I feel like they have a great fan base, coliseum is a dump and that :censored:ty neighborhood probably scares away people from the games. Also it seems that city of oakland doesn't care about sports anymore, politically speaking.)
  11. That could be the plan all along to put a kibosh to the notion of bringing baseball back to Montreal. This team will eventually be in Nashville or Vegas .
  12. They'll look as bad as their play this year. Although I do enjoy hitting up a weekday matinee game.
  13. These are actually pretty awesome. Looks like the date of the games is around Easter. Perfect color scheme for the spring. Love the argyle sleeves. This is what's great about minor league ball.
  14. The sharks should really just go back to that Jersey set. Feels balanced. Shoehorning in orange and that terrible logo update really screwed up their look.
  15. Not sure why they couldn't use Red for Pats endzone and Yellow for Rams.
  16. Doing a little more digging I think the wall gives away the year. I believe prior to the change in color scheme the walls at Jack Murphy were green with a yellow HR stripe. After the switch to Navy/Orange the walls changed to blue with an orange stripe at the top.
  17. That looks to me more like the brown and orange padres set not the navy orange. Helmet appears brown and doesnt have white/orange SD.
  18. Thanks for the clarification. Its a damn shame, I too have been looking for late 85-93 kings throwbacks. Mainly Wayman Tisdale, Richmond, Theus, and Hurley.
  19. Sacramento Kings Reggie Theus Was wondering if anyone knew the story on this jersey? Is it real/fake? Did Adidas have a program known as the swingman soul line? Want to buy but being cautious.
