  1. I guess it's kerning...but I had never noticed the s's in the wordmark are different shapes. The bottom base is longer and a little thicker on the last s than the other one.
  2. I have no idea how popular or unpopular that opinion is but I really, really don't like that logo. Is it the worst? I don't know, but it's close. You don't like the cleverness of the logo? I just like how most people think it's WSC and not WSU, and the thing is, when WSU was Washington State College, there was a WSC version of it. http://trademarks.wsu.edu/LogoHistory.html It's not a great helmet logo. and I'm biased, but I don't think it's the worst logo in D1. The Cougars script was far better on the helmets.
  3. Just what I've found - Kansas City Chiefs all-lowercase wordmark, used in the 70s and 80s (IIRC). College helmet decal logos from 80s and 90s for many schools - Arizona, East Carolina, Tulane, TCU, Wake Forest, et al.
  4. Our Constitution starts the same way Yeah, but Jefferson also spelled it "happinefs" in the Declaration of Independence, so maybe let's not pay attention to them for 21st century grammar and spelling. it wasn't "happinefs" because the f in "of" is completely different. If anything, it's closer to a j, but stroke-wise, it's still an s. Just not a normal cursive s.
  5. It's not unheard of, either. Those were the three that came to mind. I'm sure there are more.
  6. It's actually fairly common. The Bills have a logo on top of the pants stripe, and in NCAA, Florida has it, and Louisville had it last year.
  7. I agree with the rationale, but that ^^ makes me want to play UNO for six hours.
  8. Is it weird to watch a 1995 Islanders game just to watch the Fisherman jerseys in action? As untraditional as they were... I actually like them.
  9. Design A has a complete different number font (across all numbers) than Design B, as noted in the page with the photos. The other fishy thing is the Vikings are the only other team I've known to take uniform pictures at old Giants Stadium, and that was 2006. I doubt the Saints would have done that in 2000. Also, they pair the real life version of the jersey from Design A photo with pants from Design B photo. Look at the 1's.
  10. I think both helmets you mentioned would look really awkward if the logos were facing back. What would you do for the Seahawks?
  11. But this could be an eBay hoax, but glad they didn't. They look way too much like the Ravens, sans purple. That would've been a huge upgrade, except for the white pants. That number font in gold outlined in white would have worked too. The white numbers with stripeless pants and black-white-black helmet stripes would have been almost a carbon-copy of Purdue. EDIT: didn't see the black stripe on the pants with the logo (those pants must be from 2002 or later because of the NFL Equipment logo).
  12. You think he's a beast after playing one preseason game? It's not like the dude threw 4 touchdowns. Or any. So are Yale's. Always one of the best looking games of the year.
  13. McDonald's ?The Gateway Arch 3rd jersey - I know people love it - I think the arch looks completely out of place on it.Yep. I'm lovin' it. Ba dum bum bam bummmmmmmm
  14. Who would've thought this look would be lightyears better than what they have now. That switch to nike really cost the Seahawks. I'd love to see a remake of these uniforms, and they'd sell like hot-cakes. Did it? Are Seahawks jersey sales at an all-time low? Since when did sales indicate the uniform is aesthetically pleasing? Especially on these forums where the modern, trendy uniforms are criticized he most. So how did the move to Nike "cost" the Seahawks?

  16. If you want to see awful, look at the Colorado Avalanche (I'm a Red Wings fan). Luckily, baseball stirrups and the Avalanche are closely related.
  17. Those are boring. 1990s blandness at its finest.2 words I never thought I'd see used together in a uniform discussion context I actually agree with that. Another uniform that fits into that small category: If you want to see boring Astros unis, look at the current set. The 90s star unis at least had some sense of modern aesthetic to them. No way I would call them boring.
  18. I agree, no baseball player should be above mlb that everyone has to wear their number. I get it, the country was mean once upon a time and didn't allow colored people in the mlb, do we have to be reminded of it every year? If everyone is truly equal then we shouldn't have to come across as kissing their asses for the past still. But that's just my opinion. While I think everyone wearing 42 is a bit much, I don't think the impact of Jackie Robinson's achievements should be ignored or saved for the major anniversaries. I think remembering him and paying tribute to him every year is the right thing to do.
  19. Which hats? The mustard yellow, or the pillbox style with the horizontal stripes?
  20. Meh...the Padres are currently heavy navy and white (they pretty much look like the Yankees without pinstripes). The original PETCO set was the best, with the khaki and a little light blue.
  21. Watching Pirates vs. Yankees...I really like the Pirates' BP jerseys.
  22. There's something about the logo that's just awkward. I think it's the huge forehead. And some of the overall lines seem to be off.
  23. One exception is Texas Tech. They've always looked good as a lot-of-black, accented-with-red team. Kind of adds a little mystery to the image.
  24. I dig those just like they are. I have nothing against their current color scheme, but the old colors are pretty sweet. I agree that these would be good for the transition to a different name. The spear logo just looks too much like Florida State.
  25. Still not sure what league they're playing in, or if they'll ever play a game, but the Yuma Desert Ghosts have started trickling out their uniform design starting with their home and away caps. Huh. Not a logo I'd have chosen. Looks more like a trouser snake than a desert ghost.
