  1. Puma with a massive dump of 10 new national team kits today (* = qualified for 2022 World Cup): Egypt Ghana* Iceland Italy Ivory Coast Morocco* Paraguay Senegal* Switzerland* Uruguay*
  2. We do not know yet. I've heard rumblings that Nike didn't expect Canada to qualify so they didn't get started on new kits, and now it's too late. I've emailed Canada Soccer's media people, but never got a reply.
  3. It's busy, but I like it. I get what they were going for, and I think they got there for the most part. But they could have heeded Coco Chanel's advice: "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off."
  4. Yeah, the photos the team released didn't show much of the pants stripe. Here's some from a local reporter's Twitter feed: I don't think they're going to be *that* noticeable from the usual TV camera angles. But maybe they'll be distracting just knowing that they're there.
  5. New Elks uniforms unveiled this morning: They went all in with the antler-football logo, putting it on the sleeves and in the pants stripe. Some consternation on Twitter that the numbers on the green jersey are white instead of gold, but overall a nice look, I think.
  6. Officially official unveilings from Arsenal and Manchester City today, confirming prior leaks:
  7. RB Leipzig unveils their 2022-23 away kit, will wear it against SC Freiburg in the DFB-Pokal final on Saturday:
  8. Not sure that Stuttgart kit will be next year's home kit. Their website only refers to it as a "special 1992 edition top" and the language seems to indicate they only intended to wear it once.
  9. Also today: Juventus home kit is officially official: AS Monaco home: Stade Rennais home: Strasbourg home:
  10. Be quick if you're not going to the game. I think only 50 of each product were being sold online.
  11. USL's Orange County SC team up with legendary punk band Social Distortion for warmup jersey, other merchandise: More details on the mothership.
  12. Long-rumored, oft-leaked Liverpool FC home kits for 22-23 officially unveiled today:
  13. The 'Hand of God' shirt auction closed at 11:01 a.m. ET today: Beats out an original handwritten Olympic manifesto that sold for $8.8 million US in December 2019 and a Babe Ruth Yankees jersey from the late 1920s that sold for $5.64 million US in June 2019. Here's my writeup for the mothership, where I'm adding more details as I find them.
  14. Sotheby's seems pretty certain that it's the right shirt. They've had an outside firm photomatch it to what he was wearing in the second half. Regardless, there's been a bid and the reserve has been met, so it's selling one way or the other.
  15. I guess this is as good a place as any for this ... Sotheby's is going to auction off the shirt in which Diego Maradona scored the "Hand of God" goal and the "Goal of the Century" later this month. It's expected to fetch at least £4 million ($5.22 million US), and could break the record for the most expensive piece of sports memorabilia ever. That currently belongs to a New York Yankees jersey worn by Babe Ruth somewhere between 1928 and 1930, which sold at auction for $5.64 million US in June 2019. More details and history at the mothership.
  16. You sure about this? There was a lot of talk in Canada about we needed to beat Panama tonight to get into Pot 3, and that didn't happen. The current pots according to SI.com have Tunisia in Pot 3 and Canada in Pot 4.
  17. It's that time of the year again — when credible leaks of next season's kits from the big soccer leagues in Europe start to emerge. Let's kick things off with Arsenal, shall we? Some credible-looking photos of their 2022-23 kits have emerged online recently: The home kit harkens back to 1995-96, while the away kit has an all-over tonal pattern of "AFC" in 3D letters. The third is light pink with what appears to be navy blue trim, and a pattern of pips from the "Victoria Concordia Crescit" crests used from 1949 to 2002. More details at the mothership.
  18. Adidas unveiled the match ball for the World Cup today — "inspired by culture, architecture, iconic boats and flag of Qatar": More details at the mothership.
  19. I keep hearing that, since the World Cup is in November-December this year, we may not get most of the kits until much later. Footy Headlines has been saying we'll see Puma home kits in May, Puma away kits in August, and all Nike and Adidas kits in September.
