The EFL voted today to allow teams to wear their away or third kits at home to avoid scenarios where it would be difficult for colour blind people to tell the teams apart.

New Barcelona kits for 2022-23 unveiled today. They celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona and confirm the leaks and rumours we've been seeing for months:

Remember Puma's big dump of national team kits a couple of days ago? Well, here are some more that were specifically designed for the Women's Euro 2022 tournament this summer. They're all collaborations with London-based fashion house Liberty, which is known for its floral prints. So some elements from the versions we saw earlier in the week have been replaced with tonal floral patterns. Italy: Iceland: Switzerland: Austria (who weren't among Monday's releases): Puma is also making boots and goalkeeper gloves with Liberty floral prints for the tournament.

That seems to be a Puma thing for this season. I've seen a few other leaks/rumours of their shirts with stripes that don't go all the way up to the shoulders or down to the hems. Most notable one was AC Milan.

We do not know yet. I've heard rumblings that Nike didn't expect Canada to qualify so they didn't get started on new kits, and now it's too late. I've emailed Canada Soccer's media people, but never got a reply.

That's a thing you'll find with a lot of fonts. If the letterforms are round at the top and bottom, they'll ascend/descend just a touch farther than flat tops and bottoms. It's a visual thing; I don't know the actual science behind it, but it helps make everything look even at a glance. If the rounded letterforms didn't ascend/descend a bit farther, it would look weirder and more uneven. The example of this I always think of is the Green Bay Packers' wordmark:

It's busy, but I like it. I get what they were going for, and I think they got there for the most part. But they could have heeded Coco Chanel's advice: "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and take one thing off."

Yeah, the photos the team released didn't show much of the pants stripe. Here's some from a local reporter's Twitter feed: I don't think they're going to be *that* noticeable from the usual TV camera angles. But maybe they'll be distracting just knowing that they're there.

New Elks uniforms unveiled this morning: They went all in with the antler-football logo, putting it on the sleeves and in the pants stripe. Some consternation on Twitter that the numbers on the green jersey are white instead of gold, but overall a nice look, I think.
