Unless we’re talking about a minor change, this would feel completely unnecessary.

They could prove me wrong but I’ve yet to see an idea that improves upon their classic design.

I've said it before, but I think the Medicine Hat Tigers have a better Flyers jersey than the Flyers.

The Tigers dark jerseys are black (hence the colour position change here in the white jersey) with orange sleeves and white cuffs.

The Angels currently have some of my least favorite uniforms in the MLB despite having a decent logo and wordmarks to work with.

Their first move should be making some sort of alternate logo with imagery that isn't just their A logo. It's far too redundant to have it on the chest, cap, and sleeve. Give us something with wings, or a modernized California with halo logo. In the process of updating logos, they should drop silver entirely and make the halo yellow, because it gives the brand more life than silver does. They should also de-bevel their logos to match the uniforms (which look better without the bevel).

Secondly, they need to fix the mess that are their uniforms. These are all pretty minor things, but there is a lot to fix. They need a navy crown/red brim cap, and maybe a panel cap, similar to their City Connect. I'd eliminate all of the unnecessary outlines and drop shadows on their wordmark, because it is far too cluttered. They also need to make the red jersey more legible, as the red text on red jersey isn't ideal.

I understand that these uniforms have lots of history attached to them (World Series, Trout, Ohtani) but that shouldn't be the reason that we have stuck with this mess of an identity for 20 years. There are lots of little things to fix, but making changes would make the team look significantly better.

As an Angels fan, I'll beat this drum forever. The Angels do not need a navy hat. The Angels do not need any more navy at all.

They own the red on red look, whereas there are already way way too many navy(or blue)/red teams in the MLB for the Angels to do it. Look at the infamous AL West hat photo. There are only two hats that stick out and the Angels shouldn't change that.

Heck, even the old California Angels look a lot of people like is just Red Sox West. The red on red is the modern Angels.

If we're going that route, then they need to do Oilers-Flames at Lake Louise.

I think that's a non-starter because Lake Louise in the national park, so there's a bunch of governmental hoops the NHL would have to jump through.

Oh boy, this is going to be one boring-ass game uniform-wise.

I recall seeing a tweet, maybe posted here, saying that this was already known by the teams and that the Flames jersey was something the team hadn't worn before and was already done.

  5. Ehhhhhh.

I understand it's throwback based to the old North Bay team but it's such a departure from a pretty unique colour scheme and jerseys to the Boston Bruins (at a time where other CHL teams are getting further away from wearing unchanged NHL templates) and a colour scheme that three other teams use.

They also introduced a white version too for the second half of the season.

Part 1: I just hope the current home and away are mothballed. I will gladly take a return to the Mighty Ducks logo because I think a complete eggplant and jade return is off the table now. Maybe they see what Buffalo did and have a throwback alternate.

Part 2: Who is this guy and where did he come from? Last year, what seemed to be a normal, everyday teenager won the CHL design-a-jersey contest for the Calgary Hitmen and I was at the game where they wore those jerseys and the guy was part of the festivities. Fast forward many months, I see somebody posting stuff about the RR's and when I click on the profile, it's the same teenage guy who won that contest.

What was his hit rate on the RRs? Who are his sources?

Jets won't wear green jerseys until Week 15 according to GUD but I don't know for sure.

Were the white at home games actually scheduled or is it last second superstition? It's very weird that the home jersey has been shunned this season.

I can't recall the Jets putting out a jersey schedule, besides announcing the games they were going to wear the black alternates, and I don't think they have one. The green for week 15 is just the next home game, so I don't know if there's much stock to put in the GUD yet.

They first wore the white/black/black look last year and brought it back for the Pittsburgh game this year, which was the first of that four game win streak so I think it's just superstition mostly at this point.

I think it's by design. They like blacks better but can't switch to it until 2024. So best way of getting around it is to wear the whites over black as many times as possible.

They have fallen into the black abyss. Green to them is the loser color. The color that hasn't done ish since Super Bowl 3. The color of the Butt Fumble. The color of last year's disappointment.

    lol no.

The Jets have not worn green jerseys, pants, or socks this season.

    11 games - 6 home and 5 away

    • 3 white jersey/white pants/white socks (two home, one away)
    • 2 black/black/black with the black helmets (both home)
    • 6 white/black/black (two home, four away)

The all-white looks were the first three games of the season and then the black pants and socks have been worn ever since.

Nope. It's only an indication of the people who use those resources.

Yes, if you are saying you know what fans want, you need to accurately sample from the population of fans. Neither Twitter nor reddit are that.

It is an indication of the fans/people who use that resource. Again, it's not anywhere close to a perfect sample, but it's the "best" sample anyone can easily get. This isn't a scientific study or anything like that, it's just taking the temperature of what the people on those sites are feeling.

We might not like what those people are saying, but I don't think it's something that can be completely ignored because of where it came from. You now know what the Twitter and Reddit people are saying about the look and can do with that what you feel.

Twitter and reddit aren't reliable measures of what 'fans' want. They only reflect the voices of those sources.

It's probably a pretty decent measure of what fans want. Unless you're expecting a peer reviewed study of a survey taken at the entrance to the games, it's probably the best measure you're going to get. It going to be biased in a couple ways because of the demographic of the people who use Twitter and Reddit, but again, it's going to be a the "best" measure of what fans want.

  11. This was an already scheduled alternate game, but the Jets have yet to wear the green jerseys this season. Nine in white and then this will be the second in black.

I still don't know why they flipped the JETS helmet decal colours on the black helmet so it doesn't match the jersey numbers (well I have an idea). Would be an improvement to this set if it all matched.

Makes me insane. The white uniforms are fine, it's the decisions made with the blue uniforms that kill me.

First of all, why would you go back to your classic colors, but not the blue uni that won 4 straight cups? If you're going back to the 1976 jerseys, which it looks like they did, why go out of your way to use socks that don't match the hem or sleeve stripes when the socks and sleeve stripes actually did match on those uniforms.

Looking through the Isles jersey history there, they haven't had completely matching socks to jerseys, both dark and white, since the 1977-78 season.

Panthers wearing their reverse retros tonight. Everything looks great except for the numbers/NOB. They're barely legible on TV, and the cool coloured numbers don't match the warm coloured stripes. They really should be red outlined in white or yellow, with solid white NOBs.

My parents are at that game and that's what my dad said. He likes them a lot but the names are hard to read.

They should have just used the old red names and numbers.

The NBA's been willing to dip into the ABA. The NFL had a whole anniversary season for the AFL. The NHL hasn't been super eager to jump on the WHA nostalgia though.

It's basically just been the Jets.

I think part of the problem is that not a lot of WHA teams even have that much nostalgic value besides the ones that jumped to the NHL or ones in markets without an NHL franchise due to how much teams moved in the league.

I think that's mostly it. I don't know how many people are clamouring for WHA throwbacks. It definitely has nowhere near the same cache as the AFL, obviously, nor the ABA.

The Hitmen wore Cowboys (which are just Blackhawks jerseys without the black) jerseys a couple years ago for one game of a three games they played at the Calgary Corral before it was demoed.

And the Spruce Grove Saints of the AJHL use the Fighting Saints logo.

  15. I don't really like the single stroke script and numbers when you should have two colours to work with. I also don't like the inconsistencies between the colouring of the script, the front and back numbers and the NOB. It's bothered me before on baseball jerseys, including some of the Twins old set, and still does now.

Honestly the black helmet looks like :censored: on the Panthers. It’s disjointed without any silver, the decal itself has a weird texture to it compared to the helmets, and  even though it’s been almost a decade I’m still baffled that they just randomly decided to update that logo and nothing else. And I’m even more baffled that they decided to drop the key line. It looks like such trash. I get what they’re going for with the cat coming out of the shadows or whatever, but their execution of it is always been so miserably lazy. They made such subtle changes to that logo but they were all bad. The original logo isn’t fantastic, but it’s so much better than the current logo.

I personally think Carolina has a lot to clean up with their entire identity.

I don't know if this is a hot take, but I do not like their use of silver and would much rather them drop it and just be a black/blue/white team.
