  1. No, no, no. The invite clearly said "Butt:censored:ers"
  2. I like to think that when the Arena League botched it on two separate occasions, it helped turn the indoor game from a national level to more of a regional level sport. With the indoor game being more regional, it helps to cut down on costs. Why do you think that the Arena League's farthest location is Columbus? It helps to cut down on costs. You will have outliers in any league. In the NAL, where @Ferdinand Cesarano's Streets reside in, the farthest north you have to go is Worcester, MA. The farthest south is Orlando. In the IFL, you could go to either San Diego, Phoenix or Tucson for a game.
  3. That's a bad one, but I think Paul George and his injury tops this because of the cringe factor alone... there's a huge difference between a compound fracture and having you ankle nearly broken off like George had.
  4. The moves makes sense for Dixie State since they didn't exactly fit in that well with the Pacific West. This is despite their current home, the Rocky Mountain, being a far better fit. This saves the WAC for the time being because California Baptist will be about halfway through the process and Bakersfield jumping ship to join the Big West. This is still a ship that has major leaks, so any other moves may tip it over for good.
  5. I find that hard to believe that Omaha wants to separate from old rivals. What would they gain in the Summit? They would be the outlier in that league... yes, you would be able to go to cities that are as big as, if not bigger then, Omaha itself.
  6. That makes no sense to me... I would think that Omaha would be happy to see a fellow NCC alum in the same league. As for Denver... Where the hell would they go? The Mountain West wouldn't want them, they're a little far off for the West Coast, and the WAC is one good move from implosion.
  7. Eh... that's not going to happen. All of those teams are pretty happy where they are... except for New Mexico State. The WAC is under constant pressure of possible implosion at any time. Chicago State is a freaking mess, Kansas City isn't happy with what they wanted from the WAC, Seattle and Grand Canyon probably wouldn't mind finding greener pastures like Cal State Bakersfield did... and there are rumors that the WAC may be looking at another Division II school in Dixie State (Utah). The Trailblazers are set to possibly make that move here. This means the WAC would have only 7 counting members (this is, of course, before Bakersfield leaves for the Big West). New Mexico State wouldn't mind finding a new home if it all goes to hell. Another D-II school that might be set for a move is Augustana (SD). The Vikings would be a perfect fit for the Summit League alongside a good chunk of their old North Central Conference rivals (The Dakota schools and Omaha)
  8. With my perverted mind, that nickname means something else... you know what I mean? Also... Why??
  9. The West Coast League introduced the newest member of the league today... introducing the Ridgefield Raptors.
  10. I don't know where this fits, but it is college related so... How about a conference making an identity change as the Division III Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference now becomes the American Rivers Conference
  11. They got to do Trash Pandas... it's probably the best choice of a rather crappy list (Puffy Head Bird Legs?!? How the hell do you make a mascot out of that name... or a logo even?)
  12. I don't know if anyone noticed, but the West Coast League (summer college league) will be adding a franchise in Clark County, Washington starting next season. They'll play in Ridgefield (a rising community just north of Vancouver) at the Outdoor Recreation Complex there. It's a brand new stadium with seating at 1800 people. They're going to announce the nickname at the end of summer, but I have one idea that should work: Clark County Taters. Clark County since the team will represent the entire county (and adding 'county' to the name helps separate it from Cowlitz) and Taters since the team is playing in Ridgefield (whose high school teams are the Spudders) AND is used in baseball lingo.
  13. This still feels very lateral for them. If the goal is to get into an FBS conference, being in the Atlantic Sun isn't going to help them in the long run. At least being an associate member of the Big South means that if the FBS experiment fails, they have a fall back option (they still technically would have this option in the Atlantic Sun as they have an alliance deal with the Big South that would put A-SUN members in the Big South for football).
  14. That seems like a very lateral move for Liberty. Weren't they more comfortable in the Big South?
  15. They're also looking into shedding that for profit label by becoming a non profit school once again. Also, the evangelical label didn't exactly stop them from adding Pacific to the fold.
  16. I don't think St. Mary's is going to jump ship. The WCC has been very strong as of late and it would be damn near suicide to leave now. If Gonzaga and BYU jump ship, the WCC should look at Seattle (a former WCC member who wants back) and I think they ought to take a look at Grand Canyon. It's a private school as well, so it would fit within the scope of the WCC. It would also expand the footprint into the Phoenix area. Not to mention that the Antelopes have a ready made fan base that is accustomed to winning. As for New Mexico State... yeah, the Mountain West ought to look at adding them in because it's far easier to have an even number of teams in a conference then it is to have an odd number of teams.
  17. It's a "What if" scenario @LMU. Not to mention that Bakersfield will be in the WAC until 2020... this would give the WAC time to replace Bakersfield and possibly UMKC and Chicago State (The rumor going around is that UMKC wants back in the Summit and Chicago State is in dire straits financially)
  18. The move makes sense in the idea that the Big West would love to have an equal amount of Cal State schools and UC schools. Hawaii is the outlier program. What Bakersfield is doing can go two different ways: 1.) The WAC adds members to help shore up the numbers. The problem is that it's not known if there are any schools out west that would be willing to jump on a ship that has been leaking for years. or... 2.) The WAC finally crumbles under the weight of staying alive. UMKC and Chicago State head to the Summit while UTRGV goes to the Southland. The remaining four schools ally with the Big Sky.. this would create a rather unwisely choice of a 15 team conference. Knowing their history, the WAC and Big Sky decides to create a new strategy: The two league will split along it's lines to be the new leagues. The west coast schools would be the WAC and the mountain schools would be the Big Sky. Here's how that would work. WAC -California Baptist -Eastern Washington -Idaho -Idaho State -Portland State -Sacramento State -Seattle (UC Davis and Cal Poly replace California Baptist and Seattle for football) Big Sky -Grand Canyon -Montana -Montana State -New Mexico State -Northern Arizona -Northern Colorado -Southern Utah -Weber State
  19. Really? I thought they were doing just fine and dandy in the MEAC.
  20. That's a pretty good move on the part of the Big South to add in USC Upstate. Like you mentioned, they fit in pretty well in a geographic sense. The other move... maybe Liberty is jumping ship or could it be an additional school joining the conference? Who knows.
  21. I decided to do a little snooping around after seeing this for the first time... @sc49erfan15 mentioned that one of the schools is a for-profit school, which would fit for Salem. The other school MUST be a football playing school since they're going to lose Liberty and the rumor mill rolling about the possible fate of Presbyterian's football team. There's talks or Tarleton State in Texas moving up, but that's far from the Big South.
  22. Has anyone mentioned they're missing the logos for the two new Carolina League teams?
  23. I remember one of the college basketball games that 2K Sports did and they had placeholder schools for the few that opted out. Can't remember what game and which schools though.
  24. Sure... it makes sense in a geographical way. You have all the big cities within the Great Lakes region
