  1. I thought I read somewhere that the Eagles have permission to wear both the kelly green throwback helmets and their black alternate helmets in 2023
  2. Yeah, @jerrylawless3 hit the nail on the head. The easiest way to get fans to engage with a promo of any sort is to be vague and make them think it's uniform related. They all know what they are doing. I want to see a team pull the reverse of this and just update their wikipedia page one day with the new MS paint uniform graphics each team has and just wait until someone notices.
  3. I actually love the brown and gold ... it was just the uniform that looked bad.
  4. The foreplay is always better than the actual thing, and for that we honor @TruColor in the highest
  5. If I could make adjustments: - replace silver with a sand color, can be a more-grey sand too, including in the helmet speckles - no wordmark on sleeves, make the stripes on the sleeve caps a bit bigger - contrasting jerseys and pants - hell, fine with the giant wordmark, it's just too big. Scale it down just a tad That's all they really had to do to give us something unique.
  6. wait, are there TV numbers on the red jerseys? The replicas posted here have them, but I don't see them in the unveil
  7. again, I am just dumbfounded that NFL teams are so set on wearing monochrome.
  8. Alright, sue me here, but I like the big wordmark on the home a lot. It reminds me of a modern version of classic jerseys. Oklahoma and Texas, and a lot of the other Southwest Conference schools. It's not like this is unprecendented, we just don't see it often anymore. The biggest issue here is the same issue I keep having with the NFL in general, and it's the pairings of the jerseys, pants and socks. Those all-white uniforms are so devoid of anything, it's going to look ridiculous on TV -- in fact the TV cameras might start white balancing on them
  9. If they wear red over white and white over red, these will be totally fine. But I was right in my prediction that Nike would just recycle old ideas. We got the chrome facemask, the giant wordmark, and mono-sets that make them look like they're in pajamas.
  10. It's going to be simple all-red, all-white and all-black with no sock contrast and they're going to look like the Falcons lmao
  11. It's one of the biggest days on these boards ever and it's been Falcon-jacked. I'll tell my grandkids about this
  12. I love that I read this in the voice of Norm MacDonald
  13. my hope hope is that I know it's going to be a joke and this thread will be appointment TV for a week.
  14. This is a bit more high level thought, but what scares me the most is seeing a red-to-black gradient and/or a "chrome" facemask. And it would not be out of the question. Something Nike has proven with its last designs where it had liberty is that it is incapable of not recycling elements that were a part of a uniform design that most of the public scoffed at. And you can actually use the elements in the Falcons redesign in 2020 as an example. All of these design elements I am listing below were incorporated into the Falcons uniform despite them being part of uniforms so bad that the teams ditched them after 5 seasons. Chrome facemask - Used by the Buccaneers, later rejected as they went back to black. Gradient - Used by the Jaguars in their helmet, later rejected as they went back to gloss black // Used in Rams redesign in multiple places Giant wordmark and numbers - Used by the Browns, later rejected as they went back to standard home/away uniforms // Also used by the Jets "Triangle" inserts - Used by the Jets & earlier by Buccaneers and Jaguars (though, in smaller scale, it's still the same, boring, easy to implement detail), rejected by two of these three teams. Drop shadows - Used by the Browns, rejected as they went back to standard home/away Basically, what I am getting at is that when Nike has been given the keys to take control, they're pushing out the same stuff. What's highly concerning is that many of these elements were the makeup of uniforms so bad that these teams INSTANTLY began working on reverting back to something else. And it would not shock me if the Falcons, Jets and Rams did not let their uniforms live past the 5 year lifecycle. It will be interesting to come back to this check list and see how many of these elements have been re-treaded with Arizona, or if Nike actually, finally, did something thoughtful. Other teams like Detroit, Minnesota, New England, and the LA Chargers seemed like they were more in control of the design process than the above mentioned teams. Arizona went one way or the other...
  15. Yes. They originally were maroon when they were the "Normals," then they ended up borrowing leftover shirts from the University of Chicago that were originally maroon, but were faded and appeared more red. Bird logo we are familiar with doesn't even show up until their first season in St. Louis.
  16. I hate this. This is going to sound like some lame post-production Nike speak, but an egg shell texture represents an unhatched egg. I mean, imagine the backlash if they keep losing games -- people would start making fun of it. That's a risk I wouldn't be willing to take. It works for Oregon b/c Oregon is the epitome of funky ... they literally put Donald Duck on half their uniforms ... But for an NFL team trying to recreate its image, I can't see it happening. If I am proven wrong here, I am going to be disappointed. Just doesn't sound like a good design choice.
  17. This might be the most entertaining pre-reveal thread ever thanks to there being no leaks, which is amazing at this point, and people who have seen the helmets but are doing a great job of keeping the door shut.
  18. Subject change here, but did anyone find it interesting that the NFL released a press briefing on "a QB specific helmet" getting approved "to reduce concussions," with zero photos? Everything I have read and seen from subsequent reporting on the subject is that it's the Viscis 02 Matrix, which has already been in circulation in the NFL -- it was even worn by Patrick Mahomes, who won a Super Bowl wearing it. My old journalism brain is telling me this is just a lame PR move and that sure, they may encourage more QBs to switch to it, but it's not a "new" helmet and it was already approved for use. They just know that 90% of the population won't notice and take it an assurance that the NFL is working on improving player safety, when in reality they have a helmet they claim to be the best at preventing concussions YET MOST OF THEIR PLAYERS AREN'T WEARING IT. Makes NO SENSE.
  19. I'm so happy for Washington fans. Never have I seen a franchise fall into disarray quite like it did under Snyder. Maybe a more business savvy person can help me, but how in the heavens are they selling for $6 billion considering they have the most dilapidated stadium in the league? Denver most recently sold for like $4.5 billion. I would have thought the fact new ownership would need to pony up $1-2 billion for a stadium would influence the sale number negatively, but I guess not. For example, the Falcons value skyrocketed after building MBS. Absolutely crazy, it's getting to the point where the next team that sells itself might be flirting with $10 billion.
