  1. Don't underestimate the gaudiness of scorebugs, especially if we are going to be seeing this on FOX. FOX already has a full side-to-side banner for college basketball that is the most unnecessarily busy scorebug I have ever seen, and we still have 3 years before kickoff. Who knows how annoying scorebugs and just overall screen overlays during sports broadcasts will be by then? (for example, I can just see live betting lines and what not taking up a side bar or something)
  2. See, this is phenomenal. It's still a shift in direction from what we have gotten in the past, but it's actually applicable, scalable as a concept and refined. We got the sketch-on-napkin version of this, which is just so pathetic.
  3. No instance of applying the clip art is worth interest. There is also nothing memorable about each city being assigned a color scheme. Atlanta's is blue and green? Like, meh, okay. Means nothing to me. I've already seen usage of the blob lettering where I literally cannot tell what it says. Entire thing is a disaster
  4. the potential to fuse elements of Canada, USA and Mexico into a logo was what had me excited about this. HOLY F--- MY EXPECTATIONS WERE LOW BUT WHAT IN THE ABSOLUTE TARNATION IS THIS
  5. all sorts of random fonts get used for merch, I would not read too much into that
  6. omg it is the Old Bay font. No freaking way
  7. "sparsely used" Helmet: grey crown stripe, facemask, unnecessary key lines on logo Jersey: entire shoulder is one shade of grey or the other Pants: only details are two shades of grey Plus, the Titans are victim to Nike's color incorporation where the red is only sprinkled in on the maker's mark. I don't see Houston moving away from using a lot of red, it's very much color 1A or 1B for them and it would be odd for them to demote it to a tertiary color.
  8. Not if the Texans aren't also adding two different shades of grey
  9. Just adding some yellow piping and trim to the logos would go a long way in making the Rays more interesting. Also, can the jersey with the sunshine blast on it.
  10. This opens a can of worms for me -- what sports teams have a more iconic road look than home? Similar to the 1980s Braves, who had a really nice white/red/blue home, but the powder blues were so iconic that you really don't see recalls of the home version of that set ever.
  11. The funny thing is I still see fans that call them WFT, and a lot of people mention them as Washington and never use the nickname. It was an absolute travesty the way they rebranded. I have no idea how they were lead to that nickname, but it's so stale. Feels like the branding for one of these XFL or USFL teams. Call me crazy, but if the new owners want to rebrand, going back to Washington Football Team is such a better play than giving them another nickname. They likely won't. My guess is we will get more traditional looking uniforms at some point, but they'll keep the name. But, Commanders is never going to stick.
  12. Warthogs is a terrible nickname.
  13. I do too. There is nothing of value in just making a worse version of an existing design. Especially because the "crown" on the sleeves just looks like a baseball diamond with second base highlighted. There's so many other things they could have done -- I saw a concept on IG of a navy blue and peach design and it was glorious. Nike really is mailing in a ton of stuff lately.
  14. I bothers me that it feels like 25% of the design process with Nike, whether MLB, NFL, or NBA, is the dumb stuff like these slogan tags and the slogan collars that you never even see in football.
  15. Agree 100%, this looks better than the argyle just kind of sitting on its own, and preserves the thicker striping pattern that's on the popular throwbacks.
  16. No way. There's NO WAY that is the Orioles jersey. Nobody is going to buy that. They ran a text document script across the chest.
  17. I would lose the wide stripe on the helmets for Jacksonville. A solid shell makes that a 10/10 uniform.
  18. Owner probably saw all the ads being added to uniforms and the inconsistency with the rollouts of said ads and said, "Aight, I'mma head out"
  19. I just realized the CARDINALS wordmark exists on both sides, which is annoying. It's already an unnecessary "slap on" feature that becomes the entire emphasis for the "modernized" version of a classic, but it's so redundant if it's on both sides of the jersey. Meh.
  20. My guess would be that the Vapor Untouchable was too simplified, which made it less flexible. This might just be an overcorrection from that.
  21. As a fan of mascot logos, this pleases me
  22. That worries me considering how bad some of the Jackson State uniforms were the last few years.
  23. I'm confused. I know it's a fashion jersey with bigger sleeves, but this looks like the stripe is still doing a near-full wrap around of the sleeve, much like the previous iteration. I'll be fascinated to see how crammed it looks on a player jersey if the stripes do in fact settle below the seams of the sleeve cap, as indicated here. That sounds like there will be more room for TV numbers of a normal size, but the sleeves could look super busy.
