  1. is that camo for DC, or a mock marble pattern? I thought mock marble at first, which is an awesome touch. Also, y'all can run me off the boards, but I love Houston Everything else is meh to me.
  2. That would be cool. As far as I understand, facemasks aren't really under the guidelines of the NFL's super convoluted and ad-hoc uniform policies. Like, if you switch a facemask, it doesn't count as a separate alternate? Isn't that how we got the Bills and the Jets moving to different mask colors the last several years, or did those play into color rush and i am missing something?
  3. I'm so glad I see other folks acknowledging the Lions Stafford era uniforms. They were PERFECT. Full striping agreement and the numbers followed the same pattern, with a very Lion-esque custom font that had way more life than the current one. The addition of black in 2003 wasn't bad, it just wasn't right out of the gate. It helped differentiate them from the Cowboys and also defines the edges around honolulu blue and white much better than silver. The logo was also massively improved. That was the best the Lions have looked since I have been alive.
  4. i can't put my finger on it, but i think you're right. Had something to do with the most blatantly psychopathic human in a position of power on Earth becoming the leader of the free world, and also the Falcons making the Super Bowl
  5. I would attest that the fact the Lions wear their "color rush" dumbassery on Thanksgiving instead of their throwbacks is proof the apocalypse happened and we are living in a failing society.
  6. I think it's pretty obvious here that they had multiple iterations and at some point decided on the number font that matches the old wordmark, then went back and forth and picked the new script font, without realizing those two things are now disconnected. Really bizarre oversight to me. But, looking past that, I love everything else.
  7. Thought this was a funny troll job at first, turns out this person has one of the best batches of concept work I've seen on these boards. Holy crap.
  8. It wouldn’t hurt the Packers to move off the jerseys they have to the Vapor Untouchable template. Tonight’s game just highlights it because the pants are a flat white on new material while the jerseys have that sheen to them. Green Bay’s jerseys just look like what they are — outdated with mesh and screen printed details.
  9. as much as I don't like the St. Louis badge, that shirt is gorgeous. Well done. We really need more kits that have contrasting tops and shorts instead of the monochrome that seemingly swept through the league.
  10. Wow, that comment made my day -- I had my rec laptop die, but the template files are saved on a drive, once I replace it I would like to! I'll save the rest of it for the concepts thread. As far as Washington goes, the disagreement between the "white" material on the sleeve cap and the jersey was more apparent than ever last night. Could be a lighting thing/ESPN camera thing, but woof. I've recklessly swung back and forth between despising their new uniforms, to opening my mind a bit and gaslighting myself into thinking they're cool, and now I've settled on the fact they just look like a college or high school team who ordered the most expensive option in a catalog. The helmet, like fouhy said, is a fine centerpiece. I've never seen a modern satin paint job on a football helmet I did not like. Hopefully in 5 years they have new owners who can leave these as a relic of the Snyder era.
  11. Atlanta is due for a new home kit, which will be welcomed. One, the cut of the previous jersey itself was that awkward v-neck, but since adidas has gone back to a traditional loop. As well, this most recent home kit's design was the worst they've had. They need to get back to something resembling their inaugural kit.
  12. Maybe the Falcons will see this and realize black socks would make their all white uniform good, or for others who don’t like the set as a whole — exponentially more tolerable.
  13. This has been the best looking NFL weekend I can recall for a while now. Just about every game has been normal uniforms with good contrast. Only one that stunk was Broncos-Titans, and the Titans were wearing one of their best looks (for an unsalvagable set). More of this in the future please, though I am sure this is the week where the broken clock rang on the hour.
  14. What's funny is I think the Broncos uniforms, as intended, are a modern classic. Everything gels so well to me -- the horse logo is fantastic for a football helmet, it stands out well b/c it's white, and the orange from the feathers flows right into the orange stripes on the sides of the jerseys. Number font is unique, easily legible, and fits the motion of the logo. I even liked that they were not afraid to use two different pants for home and road to make each uniform functionally work for itself. IDK, maybe it helped with Terrell Davis, Shannon Sharpe and Rod Smith running around in them, but in the mid 90s when teams were making radical changes, I thought the Broncos did the best at creating something completely different and uniform. Yes, it's time to retire the design, but to me it doesn't mean it's bad. I've always loved their look.
  15. I'm very happy with Atlanta, clean, classy, love the gradient.
  16. No red pants or socks have been worn by the Falcons or even modeled during the unveil. The only graphic we ever saw them in was officially released by Nike but likely just photoshopped. It's very likely they don't exist.
  17. Boise State really needs to wear plain jerseys -- their horse logo and colors do enough. Even keep the number font, but take off the slanted sleeve stripes and drop silver. Should wear all-blue at home and white-over-orange on the road with alternates sprinkled in every once in a while. But alas, in this era, not being able to wear a different uniform every week makes you obsolete.
  18. That game would end in a tie with five turnovers in the 10 minutes of OT. I would watch.
  19. Atlanta's is sexy as hell -- considering how bad a lot of these are, I am glad we lucked out with a good one for this year.
  20. My question is if UGA is actually going to wear black jerseys this year -- the previous ones with the dog collar and alternate logo on the sleeves looked too amateurish for me, so the ones they unveiled a great return to what it should be. Guess the only chance we have of getting it is Senior Day vs. Georgia Tech, which is fine w/ be because there's no way UGA doesn't win by 30+
  21. I don’t understand what prompted the Panthers to start wearing black socks with their road set, but it’s disappointing.
  22. For me, everything in the NFL changed with the Patriots introducing flying elvis on the shoulders. Shortly after we get the Eagles & Buccaneers drifting from pastel to "deeper" colorways, then the Patriots, who were constantly churning, join in and go with the navy blue. Then we get the Rams moving to their vegas gold and navy. Everything before that was pretty standardized both with colors and striping patterns.
