  1. NFL just recklessly posting someone's photoshop that is incorrect.
  2. after what happened with the Jazz, I have lost all faith in this league -- it's more focused on the "City" stuff than anything else, and it's same half assery is leaking into standard uni releases.
  3. Yeah, the NFC South has gotten really bad, especially considering it used to give us:
  4. The weirdest thing about all of this is Carolina’s original blue was electric and pretty much on the opposite side of the color used by Nike opposed to “Process”
  5. Oh, I see now. Maybe they are making this change because they simply can't accomplish the perfect loop on this specific template.
  6. Compared to how Nike fumbled around with shoulder "loops" for so long, including with Carolina, the irony of all of this is they finally got it right when they switched Carolina onto the vapor template. Compare this below photo to the awful attempt they had with LSU in the early 2010s. Interesting that "mobility is mentioned." Can an expert explain his? Is there actually something about the way the stripe is applied that constricts the sleeve area, and that is a functional reason for going back to truncated? Shame because I actually really appreciated them making jerseys with full loops.
  7. If the Panthers are actually taking an opportunity to change the jersey color and adjust the sleeve stripe, but don't fix the comically small TV numbers, I will laugh
  8. ^ Both the Bucs and Seahawks should be wearing those as their primary uniforms at home. But, I would never miss that all-blue look for Denver (and I am someone who still loves their uniforms for some reason), and there is nothing about that Titans uni that isn't anything other than hard to look at. Tennessee still has by far the worst set in the NFL.
  9. I'm in the rebrand camp. Don't change the nickname, but they've never had anything that LOOKS like Arizona, and if we have learned anything from the Coyotes, Suns and D-Backs is that there's plenty of imagery that can really stand out. Keep the modern logo, keep a shade of red, keep the uniforms simple, but do not be afraid to branch out. Like AgentColon2 said, it's not like previous iterations of their style harkens back to anything. My favorite idea that has been used on these boards over and over is going for a deeper red and a "sand" color, which not only aligns with the D-Backs and Coyotes but also with the original Racine Cardinals, who wore maroon and tan.
  10. The collars having sectional pieces mucks up which is overall a really nice design.
  11. Falcons-Cardinals in Atlanta for several years was impossible.
  12. I wouldn't be shocked if Carolina has kept a tight lid on something too. David Tepper bought the team 5 years ago. That is plenty of time to go through the redesign process. The current uniform on the current template has noticeably drawn functional criticism, especially for how tiny the TV numbers are. While we complain about bad uniform design elements all the time, something like the functionality of squeezing TV numbers the size of laptop stickers onto the jerseys surely has prompted an internal conversation about needing a refresh (could see an equipment manager immediately bringing it up as an issue). So, if their jerseys are discounted at the same rate as the Cardinals, that seems like a fairly good indicator. We'll see.
  13. This will mark the end of the Reebok era and unnecessary piping. What scares me is an increased focus on black. The only good thing about their primary uniforms since the 2000s was that black was simply used for trim/piping. But, with two black jerseys and then a black helmet, I am scared they are going to lean into that more ala NYJ. That would be terrible for a league that already has a major problem right now with teams leaning too much into all black uniforms.
  14. NFL Changes 2023 thread giving NFL Changes 1995 and I am loving this fauxback take on these boards
  15. I'm not going to lie, I am enjoying the overall look of a lot of the XFL uniforms this cycle. The only thing I hate is obvious colored inserts based on jersey panels, not design (the Battlehawks, Brahmas and Dragons all have this issue). With that said: - Kind of obsessed with San Antonio's preferred yellow uniform. That shade of yellow is so unique to a sports uniform. The B created from the negative space on the back of the helmet is a cool touch. Also nice sublimated texture on helmet horns and numerals. - DC is just awesome. The marble pattern on the white helmet is such a great move for DC. The jersey style looks classic but has the neat DC stuck on the sleeve stripe. Clean, classic looking at a glance but with fun details. - Call me crazy, but the Roughnecks uniform is so fun. The "oil spout" gradient is detail I really appreciate. The numbers, even with gradient, are legible. - I can't believe how much I like the Vipers uniform. When the players lean into their stance and the V turns into fangs? Yeah, that's a fantastic dual use of an abstract logo. Only major complaint is the Renegades uniform, especially road, looks like piece-meal from different sets, kind of like what high schools do. The Dragons uniform is all over the place, horrible color balance, logo looks bush league.
  16. the only disappointment with Atlanta is the armpit panel, but at least with the striping sequence it will kind of blend in a bit -- yeah that's not a good enough explanation for it. No reason it needs to be filled in as a different color. It's still a great call back to the original kit, especially because the gold trim on the collar and cuffs ties it all up, wheras the original kit had solid black cuffs and collars. I will gladly give them my money today. It's a beaut
  17. I'm obsessed with that design for New England. Such an innovative way to go about a sash, which fits them well.
  18. I get what NYC was going, but they look like they are in reptile skin. That kit is bad.
  19. That Bucks-Celtics game today was one of those times I complained internally for 10 seconds and then had to breathe and remind myself that 90% of sports fans don't even notice these things, and even those who do likely do not care. And that we are all weird. But what the heck.
  20. I'm not a fan of the new wildcat logo for UK, but those are going to be a massive improvement over what they've had
  21. The charcoal addition was soooo strange. I'm not sure I can think of a justification other than that in the late 90s/2000s moving from brighter to deeper colorways was all the rage (Patriots, Bucs, Rams, Eagles, Bills, Seahawks, etc) and it was nothing more than a sprinkle on top of that trend... ...but really odd it came years after the original rebrand and was so subtle that it was almost unnoticeable outside of people like us. There should be no conversation about enhancing its presence in the set, because not only does it just muddy them up more, it shouldn't have been added to begin with.
  22. I'll agree to an extent -- this uniform looked better when the jerseys had some sheen to them, but in Nike's flat fabric it looks drab. But, if you can look past that, I see those unis as a modern classic. They were introduced in the mid 90s, have only been tweaked here or there, but have no weird design gimmicks, a very unique but legible number font, and the modern winged helmet is just freaking amazing. I don't think playing in State Farm Stadium, which is notorious for bad lighting, helped.
  23. What on Earth is that Vegas logo? Did nobody stop to ask "hey what is the purpose of this"
  24. Atlanta's kit is perfect this time around. Unlike the previous striped kit, the adidas mark and crest run flush on a stripe, instead of looking plopped on. As well, compared to the original kit, we get trimmed collars and cuffs instead of blank, black ones. As long as something weird isn't happening with the side panel, which is possible considering the new adidas template, these are gonna be selling like hot cakes.
  25. idk, maybe it's recency bias, but something about that rendering screams fungal infection to me. Not a fan of the execution.
