  1. Atlanta has begun preseason training and their training gear appears to use shades of green (I’m color blind), which matches the rumors about a mint based away kit.
  2. And ditto for the white set. Some red socks would pair well with the black pants and black socks should always be worn with the white pants. I don’t think white socks works to contrast with the black jersey and pants look but could work with the white jersey and black pants look (white jersey balances out the socks).
  3. Sorry if I missed this, but are we getting the entire reveal on February 2 (name, logos, full uniforms) or just the name and logos? It seems a lot of times, teams like to double dip their marketing events and do a logo reveal and then a uniform reveal at a later date.
  4. I hated it because the contrast was horrible. It was so pale you could barely even tell it was pink. I couldn’t see the adidas logo or stripes. The kit wasn’t classic for its plainness, it was just straight boring. It looked like teamwear and they just slapped a crest on it.
  5. I still don’t know how they thought the C logo is an upgrade over what was already a decent crest compared to the rest of the league. New England = massive W Chicago = massive W Columbus = massive L
  6. The old crest for Costa Rica was not great but the new one isn’t inspiring, either. That sharp, angular font paired with the interior shield shape is giving off serious US vibes. Mexico made it official tonight with the new crest.
  7. Bayern wore their new green and gold Oktoberfest kit today. Similar to their 120th anniversary kit, the shirt was a replica, and not the authentic HEAT.RDY or whatever Adidas is calling it these days. You can tell from the straight hem (authentic has a tapered cut), the embroidered logos and adidas stripes, and that players like Leroy Sané were wearing short sleeves with base layers when he always wears true long sleeves. It was paired with the authentic black shorts from the away kit. I really enjoyed the socks design.
  8. Bayern announced a Wiesn (Oktoberfest) inspired 4th kit to be worn this weekend against Bochum. The socks have a cool pattern: The last Oktoberfest kit they had was 13/14 with this design, which was much more apparent in its inspiration. It had wooden style collar buttons, a woven pattern on the shirt, and embellishments on the adidas stripes. The new design seems more casually inspired. I quite like it.
  9. Bayern debuting the new third kit in the Super Cup today. I’m a fan of the pattern referencing the Alps and the two tone print on the back of the shirt. The kit would also look great with a pair of navy shorts.
  10. I think it could be a rough go for Barca in the years to come. They are coming off decades of dominance both in Spain and Europe, are in a poor situation financially for the foreseeable future, and just let go the best player the world has seen. I could very easily see a situation where they devolve into AC Milan and perhaps they remain competitive in Spain, but they could easily get left behind in Europe. It’s not as attractive of a spot for players as it used to be.
  11. Not really kit related, but probably one of the biggest stories of the season and thought it was worth a mention. The man who I never thought would don a shirt other than the blaugrana. Now he is looking for a new home as an agreement could not be reached with Barca due to financial regulations.
  12. I’ve seen it posted a few times, but it’s always a Photoshopped image or a horrible bootleg. As far as I know, this looks to be the only leak of the genuine adidas product. This is what I’ve seen so far. The mock up is pretty spot on while the fake gets the shade of blue badly wrong and has four stars. Only the home kit has the five stars this season.
  13. To my knowledge, this is the first legitimate leak of the Bayern third kit. Everything else to this point was either a mock up or a bad fake. The design is supposed to evoke the Alps. This appears to be the replica and not the authentic.
  14. It hasn’t been “officially” announced yet, but the FC Bayern kit is now available on their fan shop. It is the first kit of theirs to feature five stars. There are also several changes from other past designs. The socks now read “Bayern,” instead of “FCB.” It also includes a new font. They will debut it in their friendly tomorrow against Ajax. For about a decade, Bayern used this font: They changed to this font in recent years (2018, I believe). Then, last year they introduced this font only used for the third kit. The 2018 font was still used on the home and away kits. And here is the new font. They also used it with the new black and gold away kit, so I am assuming this will be the standard font for the foreseeable future.
  15. This one is my absolute favorite Arsenal change kit. A right banger. Perfect colors. Top class.
  16. Leak of Bayern’s new away kit. I like the color palette, which is inspired by the Munich flag. The coat of arms is seen on the rear neck. The leak does not have stars above the crest. I’m guessing this is so adidas could confirm whether to manufacture it with four or five stars (Bayern just won their thirtieth league title, which gives them a fifth star in German football). There was a similar situation over a decade ago when they went from three stars to four, and they simply added the fourth star above the others. That solution still beats what Dortmund did going from one to two stars. The single star was central above the crest and they simply added the second, creating an imbalance. Interestingly, Bayern will wear it at home next week when they will be presented with the Meisterschale and Lewandowski attempts to get the record breaking 41st league goal. An untraditional move for Bayern, who almost always wears red at home. They usually debut the new home kit with the last game of the season. I wonder if this swap to the away kit is to give adidas more time to manufacture five star shirts, which I’m sure sell much better than alternates.
  17. The new Arsenal kit is near perfection and brings back the classic cannon. They should really streamline their look like Liverpool did several years back and go with the cannon as the primary badge. The yellow and navy is the quintessential Arsenal away look. The one problem, however, is that they selected yellow shorts. The kit is begging for navy shorts. Hopefully there is a change pair.
  18. I still say they should drop the navy and clean up some of the striping inconsistencies but it’s a good look overall.
  19. The new Dortmund shirt has leaked. They will supposedly use this for league play and have a more highlighter shade for cup play.
  20. Watching the debate over uniform numbers has been a great study into whether someone watches college football. You do? Then this number change is totally normal and accepted. You don’t? An outrage!
  21. That’s true. I forgot about the trefoil and was looking forward to how adidas would implement that into some of their retro inspired designs. Who else has used that pattern?
  22. Leak of Manchester United three kits and also showing the new sponsor layout (it was rumored to have the logo atop the text). Also, if you look closely, you’ll see a bit of the Arsenal primary kit and their blue lightning style one. I’m a fan of the light blue Manchester United strip.
  23. If the NFL loosens the number restrictions, what are the odds some players are locked in to their current number due to merchandising? Didn’t we see a problem with LeBron James unable to swap to #6 because Nike had produced too many #23 jerseys?
  24. A few photos of Germany debuting the new kit, now seen with name and number prints. I’m a big fan. The understated and simple look gives me a throwback vibe. I don’t think it’s one of their best away kits but it’s still class. I prefer the 2010 black away, the 2012 retro green, 2014 red and black hoops, and the 2018 teal to name a few. I think that just speaks to the quality that adidas always puts out for its home nation. Germany is always top notch.
  25. With international fixtures going on currently, I’m surprised we haven’t heard more about this. This time of year is common for Nike’s international releases. Footy Headlines commented that they expect it to be worn by both the men and women. https://www.footyheadlines.com/2021/02/usa-2021-away-kit-leaked-first-look-at.html?m=1
