  1. This was the best Arsenal away strip in the last 15-20 years.
  2. Helmet logo on one side and number on the other screams mid major and UVA deserves better than that. Good news.
  3. A lot of these leaks happened 1-2 weeks ago. Surprised they haven’t been posted but I’ll throw them in here.
  4. Knowing what we do now, is it the appropriate time to completely trash the Saints black helmet even more? Everyone hated it but let it slide because we were under the impression it had to be worn with an alternate jersey. Instead, they’ve ruined their gorgeous Color Rush when they could have just used the black lid with their all black uniforms that they wear all the time. ——— The Eagles helmet is a classic example of a team having zero patience and putting out a black lid just because they can. It’s completely pointless. I can barely tell the difference from their midnight green. The stupidity of the black lid is emphasized by the fact it’s strictly a one year hold over until the kelly green throwbacks arrive next year. ——— Jets black lids are also bad. I think a white alternate helmet in the new style would have been a much better option and also allow them to blend the eras a bit. It would have been a natural look, but instead they have to go black because .
  5. If the league is concerned about watering down primary identifies and wants to limit alternate helmet usage, why not just let the teams wear the extra helmet in 2 or 3 games max and let them wear it with whichever combinations they want? Seems like a win-win. This way there aren’t horrible mix and match uniforms like the Saints because they are restricted on how they can implement the helmet.
  6. This is at least the second big Nike team update (other being Georgia going back to block numbers) and in both instances, the teams retained the Vapor Untouchable template instead of switching to that one Oregon’s been using for a couple years. I’m a bit surprised. The Vapor Untouchable has been used for at least 6 or 7 years now. I’m not complaining, it’s probably the best template we’ve seen. On the other hand, it’s even more surprising some schools like FSU continue to use the Mach Speed template, which is even older dating back to 2013 or 2014.
  7. While it hasn’t been explicitly stated by the school, some folks believe these are new Texas uniforms. It’s hard to see, but the Longhorn collar logo appears gone, and some are speculating the shoulder numbers were dropped, too (it’s a single digit number, so I don’t think this one image proves anything). I’ve also seen debate whether the shade of orange is darker. Their shade has definitely gotten lighter over the years. We need better photos to confirm anything.
  8. Bayern away kit has been unveiled. There’s a sublimated pattern down the middle but I can’t tell what it is. This kit appears to be the spiritual successor to last year’s away kit. For reference: Last year’s and this year’s both use gold detailing and include the Münchner Kindl on the socks and the upper back. Munich’s city colors are black and yellow (while the state of Bavaria is blue and white) so this is a natural fit.
  9. Saints black helmet could work but the patterned stripe is horrible and matches nothing. It’s also horrible that it’s paired with the Color Rush, which is one of the best in the league. Eagles wordmark feels very generic. I wonder if this foreshadows a bigger overhaul. I’d like them to lean more into the midnight green and charcoal. Eliminate the black.
  10. You can see some similarities to this template Bayern tested in training nearly two years ago. The sleeve cuffs, collar, and maybe the curved hem are all similar. It was definitely a test run for the template because despite having Bayern graphics, it said “Deutscher Fußball Bund” down the side tape and the tag said 22/23.
  11. I remember seeing something about that, too, and I’m interested. If allowed, that would run contrary to the idea alternate helmets aren’t permitted with primary home or road sets.
  12. An article in the Atlanta Journal Constitution confirms that the all white Georgia uniforms will not be worn in a game. They confirm that they special ordered a small batch of gear for recruiting visits. They have proven to be super popular with the recruits (did we expect they wouldn’t be?) so I suppose the door is open down the road, but right now they don’t have a full inventory of gear for the team.
  13. I really don’t like these helmets that use a contrasting color to highlight the bizarre helmet construction. Really thought we were past that from when the Mets did something similar a while back.
  14. That’s a nice Dolphins set. The orange middle stripe on the white helmet is critical. That’s always bugged me with their current uniforms. It looks like a cheap knockoff. The Dolphins have always had that orange center stripe.
  15. It’s a combo that will never happen because the side striping colors do not match.
  16. We need clarity on this. According to the Falcons in this article, “Per the NFL, the revised policy allows teams to wear a second, alternate color helmet to pair with throwback, color rush or alternate uniforms.” That doesn’t specify whether you have to pick one of those three categories or if they could do it in all three instances. Could they swap out decals in theory? Unsure. The lines are getting blurred. I don’t even know if the the Falcons gradient set is considered a color rush or alternate. I guess you could have a team like the Texans with primary navy and white jerseys (navy helmets) but they could use an alternate helmet with either their alternate red jersey or their navy color rush with red numbers. Confusing times.
  17. Love the return of the red lid, but seems like a poor marketing strategy to hold out until 8 PM. It’s not like they are doing anything new. They’re just returning to what the throwback used to be. With the big lead up and hype, I thought there was a chance they’d reveal a different throwback or show off the red lid as an alternate with the regular set. The “live event” on YouTube lasted less than one minute. This could have been a timed tweet at 10 AM.
  18. Couple more looks at the white lid. https://www.instagram.com/p/CeRVhrSL_ri/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  19. Shameless plug. This tool was made when block numbers were rumored so I used the non-outlined style from the 2020 alts before they released the updated design. https://andrewwagner.wixsite.com/georgiauniforms
  20. Some white Georgia helmets have appeared, though I’d be surprised if these are anything more than for recruiting purposes. Georgia has a tendency to offer a lot of gear for recruiting visits that never actually hit the field. We so infrequently wear black jerseys, but they are the primary jerseys worn on recruiting visits. These black jerseys have never been worn in an official game (only the spring game) despite having them since 2017. They wore the version with the Nike Flywire style thick collar (sans Flywire like some NFL teams did) in 2016 and also wore the ones with the block numbers, dog collar, and sleeve logos in 2020. That one was a commemorative one year only design to celebrate 100 years with the Bulldog mascot. They have a set of plain white pants, which are clearly teamwear catalog style. Ditto for black pants. They’ve even stitched on some G logos, but there have been other photos seen with the logos peeling off and they use lower grade materials. Clearly a catalog order. Some recruits also use the 1980 style throwback pants from the 2020 alternate. These are legitimate team issued pants but only worn once in a game with the throwback. Several years ago, there were rumors about a black helmet. That never happened, either. I would like to see us mix it up a bit but still remain very traditional. Wear the black jerseys once or twice a year and we should also have red pants permanently in the rotation for a road game or two. For those, I’d like to see a single white stripe matching the helmet (unlike the mismatched 1980 style stripe). I’ve been advocating for a silver helmet with that same stripe for years. Georgia wore silver helmets for a lot of its history and the silver britches style is immediately recognizable so I think something like this would resonate and be a nice compromise as an occasional alternate. I’d be shocked if that white helmet ever sees the field.
  21. Here is the live stream for tonight’s Falcons reveal at 8 PM.
  22. That’s what the website says. Also, does the website typically have the gradient header? I don’t go on the site enough to remember. They usually change their social media graphics whenever they do throwback games and gradient games. There were rumors they’d also use the red lid as an alternate for a true red to black gradient so I’m wondering if this is foreshadowing.
  23. ^not sure if the retro helmet was mentioned on these boards but it was definitely noticed and talked about by fans a bunch when they released the schedule. Whatever they are releasing today (throwback helmet, maybe a whole new throwback uniform top to bottom, or the possibility of it being used as a red alternate lid with the modern decal), it isn’t happening until 8 PM EST so we’ll have to wait a bit.
