  1. I gotta ask, any truth to those, ahem, rumors?
  2. I agree. They both transitioned seamlessly. Seeing the template in action, it looked like it was a much more subtle template change than other ones in the past. Speaking for Georgia, they went from the old school mesh style up until 2012 to the Nike Flywire style with the chunky collar in 2013. That was a big change. When they went to the Speed Machine template in 2017, it was so much cleaner than the Flywire style. Other schools had the Mach Speed (I think that started around 2014) which had a strange collar construction and curvy sleeve caps that impacted how stripes looked. This newest Nike template looks pretty harmless and not much different unless you see it up close. I noticed Georgia’s pants logo is much smaller than in years prior. It’s similar in size to the collar logo. In years prior, the pants logo was approximately twice the size of the collar logo. Only other noticeable change I could see was that it looked like the numbers are applied a bit lower on the new template. On the old template, they sat a bit higher closer to the collar.
  3. I already added my thoughts on this earlier but I can’t go on without adding this. George Pickens out almost all of 2021, AD Mitchell out almost all of 2022. Both with major long term injuries. Georgia’s opponents aren’t the only ones with injuries. I could also add that Georgia has missed its best linebacker and team captain since about week 7 (out for the season) and a senior OL that we replaced in the Peach Bowl with another five star underclassman. It’s next man up. I guess Bama and Ohio State just didn’t have a next man up on the depth chart.
  4. Come off it. Georgia beat Alabama last year with its last three touchdowns via freshmen. Maybe Alabama should have built depth and developed their receivers mid season instead of relying on Jameson Williams and John Metchie almost exclusively. Georgia beat the Heisman winner Bryce Young with a former walk on QB. This year it replaced 15 players it lost to the draft and is returning to the title game with a chance to go back to back. Maybe you should simply give credit for the program Kirby Smart has built at Georgia. You’re absolutely selling it short.
  5. That was the one detail I was hoping they would address when these all white helmets were announced. To slap a navy-white-navy stripe on the helmet told me they would fix the change the pants. That would make total sense, right?
  6. Fiesta Bowl is still a work in progress but it will be navy blue and purple endzones.
  7. New pics of the Galaxy, again from our friends in France
  8. Watched a bit of the Holiday Bowl. Gotta say, UNC’s regular uniforms are way better than their throwbacks. The stripes have totally inconsistent thicknesses across the helmet, jersey, and pants. They could be good with a tidying up, but they don’t beat out their regular set, which are already some of the best in college football. Speaking of UNC, check out their QB’s sleeve stripes. The bottom navy stripe is about as thick as both the top navy and middle white stripes combined.
  9. Here is the Peach Bowl Field design. I wish they would paint the endzones, but it’s not too surprising considering the Falcons play there the day after. One small change from the last time the Peach hosted a semifinal is that the CFP logos are now outlined in black. I believe that’s standard for the other NY6 bowls, but last time the CFP logos were plain gold against the turf. I would expect they’ll do another coat of paint closer to the game as the paint is already a bit faded. I dislike the way the Georgia endzone is treated. I understand that they tend to use the style used at the home team’s stadium, but when the other team’s endzone is in their colors, I feel like the other should be, as well. This has often been the case in the SEC Championship. I wish they would paint it red like the one time they did it in the SEC title game in 2018. Other CFP games for Georgia have had red text against a black background or white text against a red background.
  10. In that video, you also see them sewing on the chrome Jumpman logo, which seems to answer my age old question about whether Nike ships new jerseys to the Nike teams for the CFP or if they swap out the logos.
  11. Weird tweet from the Peach Bowl. It shows Georgia in the old template with the Flywire collar with block numbers and the chrome swoosh. That jersey never existed as the school’s first CFP appearance came in 2017 when they had the Vapor Untouchable template and still used Bulldog Bold for the numbers. For some reason they decided to photoshop an old jersey.
  12. Yeah, the Sporting KC crest is aesthetically pleasing enough, pretty harmless but nothing remarkable, but my god is it beyond stupid. You call yourself “Sporting KC” and yet the badge reads “Kansas City Sporting Sporting Club.” Which genius thought that up? Why is the emphasis on “SC?” Are they even a sporting club? What other sports does the club offer? I see nothing other than soccer on their website. Their wiki page mentions they wished to start rugby and lacrosse teams. It says they never formed a lacrosse team and had a loose affiliation with a rugby club but the rugby team was never under the Sporting KC structure. Clubs like Barcelona and Bayern can make claims to being “sporting clubs” because they have basketball, handball, and even chess teams!
  13. The stripe is continued on the back of the shorts. Assuming this will be the case for 2023 MLS kits since the shirts seem to follow the World Cup template.
  14. Oh wow, that’s great. Just ordered myself an Atlanta shirt and hopefully will have it a month and a half before release! Lol. If I’m reading the site correctly, international shipping with DHL takes 4 days.
  15. That is truly horrendous. That has to be up there as one of the worst shirts in league history.
  16. Two of the new shirts are available to buy from the French shop footcenter.fr (don’t think you can ship to the US). I looked at the other MLS clubs they have available and believe these are the only 2023 shirts available so far. Better photos of Atlanta And here are some better shots of Miami
  17. Also new Miami and new LAFC (digging the simple crest, hope we see more of that in the league going forward)
  18. Atlanta’s new kit has leaked. Definitely a step in the right direction. Not as good as the original but still nice. Fans wanted real stripes back.
  19. Decent look for TCU, but they should wear their purple helmets on the big stage.
  20. Pretty sure these are new pants for Georgia to go with their new jersey template. This was posted on the UGA Football EQ Instagram page. Hard to see what’s going on as far as the material, but I believe they are new because multiple players chimed in the comments saying things like “where are the black belts?” and that they tried them on and they fit very well. I will need to see them on a player but I feel like the G logos might be a bit smaller. Curious how the shade of silver/gray looks as well as the stripe width. A lot of fans want true silver britches. I am totally indifferent to that as many of the classic Georgia teams from the 1980s did not wear silver and had flat gray like today. However, I do think they should use a gray that is a shade or two darker for more contrast, particularly when worn with the white jersey.
  21. More Ohio State photos in the new template.
  22. I wouldn’t chalk that up to the Rose Bowl having “integrity” or putting itself above sponsorships. I think it’s just that they don’t have a sponsor at the moment. Very surprising to be honest. The Rose Bowl has been more than happy to have sponsors on the patch in years past. The only one I know of in recent memory that went sponsorless was the 2021 CFP semi final that was held in Dallas due to covid restrictions in California. The patch said “2021” instead of the presenting sponsor. To this day, I don’t know why they went sponsorless. Whether it had something to do with the game being in Dallas, or if Capital One was a late partnership with the game, who knows. But the field definitely had Capital One’s graphics. A bit confusing.
  23. Georgia is confirmed to wear the new Nike template like Ohio State. At this point, I would assume Michigan and TCU will get updates, as well. Otherwise the jersey design for Georgia is absolutely identical to what they wear now. Unlike Ohio State, Georgia stitched the SEC patch at the same height as the Nike swoosh. @MJWalker45 called it that they would swap the Vince Dooley tribute patch to the other side. I just assumed they would drop it for the postseason.
  24. I feel like it is more about shrinking jersey real estate versus bowl patch sizes. Bowl patches have always been large, which worked fine when pads were massive and sleeves went down towards their elbows. As they get more and more shrink wrapped style, there’s less room to work with.
