  1. Yeah the NFL Super Bowl patch jerseys have been a mess for years and I don’t quite understand why. It was honestly better back in the day. I remember when the Falcons made it the first time in the 1998 season, my dad was able to go to a street vendor that had the Pro Line merchandise (when there were several officially licensed merchandise providers) and he was able to get a black screen printed Falcons jersey with the Super Bowl logo. That set up was better because there were plenty of options with multiple manufacturers. Given that Nike is the sole provider now, they should be able to provide the product because the consumer no longer has anywhere else to go. It’s the only option in town. I remember the second time they made it (that game, 28-3), they had selections of both home and away Nike jerseys, which made no sense since they would only wear one of the designs. For a league that dictates who the home and away teams are long in advance, the NFL should require teams inform them months in advance which color they would wear if they make it to the Super Bowl. That shouldn’t be too much of an ask since teams already know whether they’ll be home or away. You may have the oddball team like the Broncos or Pats who feel superstitious because they’ve worn titles in white and they may request that, but they can decide that in advance. Or in the case of the Rams that year they wore throwbacks, they settled that with the league prior to the season. Same rules should apply to the postseason. This would allow Nike to ensure they have stock on hand to fulfill the product. They would be able to eliminate half of the inventory by knowing X team will not be wearing X color. It shouldn’t be a difficult job. Nike would have known the Chiefs were in white and the Eagles in green, so they’d be able to have Mahomes, Kelce, Hurts, Devonta Smith, etc in the proper colors that the teams are actually wearing rather than selling useless red Chiefs jerseys. It should be as simple as pulling their current inventory out and ironing on patches. Easy.
  2. As someone who only sees Jamaica when my country plays them, I knew something felt off but I couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s definitely the green shorts. Now that I think about it, every time I’ve seen Jamaica wear yellow shorts, they’ve almost always been paired with black shorts. On another note, apparently these shorts have pockets! Nice socks, too.
  3. I’m a Braves fan and disagree. The road grays are classic and have been worn for ages. They won the 2021 World Series in the grays. I believe special occasion uniforms (Negro Leagues, one off throwbacks) won’t count towards the proposed 4+1 rule. The Braves aren’t superfluous like some other teams, so their 4+1 could be their current set consisting of home white, road gray, red alt, blue alt, and whatever the City Connect uniform is. They shouldn’t have to get rid of anything. My one critique for the Braves is that I wish they’d wear the regular cap on the road with the grays. I’m fine with the all navy blue as a change of pace and it’s nice with the blue jersey, but they need to bring that red bill back on the road.
  4. How bizarre that the Barca kit only has the swoosh on one sleeve. We went from having the swoosh on the front of the jersey, to a swoosh on both sleeves (PSG and the USA) to now a swoosh on only one sleeve.
  5. Those look great, but I don’t recall them introducing a matching paneled cap like that. There should be some cohesion there, especially for the home uniform. Either introduce the matching cap for use as an alternate or use solid blue to match the standard cap. Here are the other helmets.
  6. Just another example that the merchandise business requiring new gear every 12 months results in crappier end products. How about sticking with designs for 2-3 seasons at a time rather than continue to churn out garbage? I used to love buying the new spring training caps. Now, I haven’t bought one in ages.
  7. Seattle and Atlanta look the most promising out of those.
  8. Italy’s new adidas kits were officially presented today. Home kit is fairly standard affair, but my word, that away kit might be up for kit of the year. I’d go as far to say it would be one of the top shirts at the World Cup had they qualified. This is a great interview with the adidas designers on the creative process and interactions with the federation: https://www.soccerbible.com/interviews/2023/01/adidas-design-team-talk-the-new-italy-home-away-kits/ Like we saw with plenty of adidas teams in Qatar, there are multiple shorts available. I could be wrong, but my understanding is that the preferred home kit is blue paired with white shorts (all blue as the alternate) while the preferred away kit is all off white (with navy shorts as the alternate). The royal blue shorts and socks have the same pattern as the shirt. Number font looks incredible. Truly a bespoke kit. I haven’t found a great pic, but apparently the fabric layer beneath the adidas stripes has one stripe in green, one in white, and one red. If you have seen the authentic adidas World Cup range in person then you know what I’m talking about, but if not, it’s like you see on this Spain shirt with the sliver of yellow beneath the adidas stripes. If you turn the shirt inside out, then you can see the hidden colors more easily.
  9. Timbers kit is fine, but too much white and not enough gold. As for NYCFC, I hope they have a pair of white shorts. That’s my favorite combo over both the all sky blue or even the navy shorts.
  10. ^ that would be a much welcomed change for Kansas. I loathe the Trajan font.
  11. Interesting - that’s two years in a row that they’ve had two versions of the champions logo. 2021 and 2022 each had versions with the CFP logo and separate logos with the CFP logo swapped out for the Georgia state outline. Weird. I prefer the CFP logo. Of course I say that and just now realize my avi has the state outline. Lol.
  12. I think you’d find that it is an unpopular opinion. FSU has a good idea with their current unis, but they need to strip it back and go simpler. White numbers were a step in the right direction. Leave the pattern on the collar, maybe add it to the cuff, and take it off the sleeves. Tweak the shades a bit to make the gold richer.
  13. A lot of them use the location for some extent of the design. Tampa: Santa Clara: Rose Bowl: Miami: Phoenix: New Orleans:
  14. Georgia’s title logo has already been posted but I don’t think I have seen a deep dive on it yet. SoFi silhouette at the top with 15 rays to represent 15 wins on the season. The four stars symbolize Georgia’s 4 total national titles (1942, 1980, 2021, 2022). Two palm trees represent two CFP era titles. It’s got the stripe from the silver britches in there. I’m sure there’s something to do with the shape of the logo, but I haven’t seen anything on it yet. This was last year’s for comparison.
  15. Sorry guys, my school just went back to back natties, deal with it. I was there for the 2018 OT loss to Bama and the 2022 win over Bama. Watched this one at home with my wife. Special time to be a Dawg. —— Edit, do I have to update my avi?
  16. This feels like those times Oregon wore the neon and then the grayscale designs in their title game appearances. Come on, how often do you guys get to the big stage?! Wear your proper colors! Also, the supersized frog is not much better than numbers on the side of the helmet or the supersized Boise bronco. Just stick to the regulars.
  17. That’s putting it nicely. It looked way worse towards the end of the game. Looks like I wasn’t patient enough and the field looks great now, indeed.
  18. ^ y’all sound like guys whose team ain’t never won a natty ———— On a serious note, are they gonna paint the endzones black? As of tonight - 21 hours to kickoff - and the field still looks like this. I would be fine with plain green endzones (not preferred but it’s fine), however, they still have heavy hints of blue from either the Rams or Chargers. Also, the CFP logo at midfield is outlined in black while the endzone logos are not. I was certain the endzones would be black a couple days ago, but now I’m not sure. If they were going to paint them black, you’d have thought they’d have a first coat down at a minimum. Perhaps it’s quick drying and they can still do it? Maybe they’ll spot spray some green over the blue?
  19. First look at TCU with the national title game patch. Still awaiting clarification on the pants, but fully expecting black helmet, white jersey, black pants. On another note, the field has looked “done” for a day or two, but I still think they are going to paint the endzones black. There’s a chance they could be plain. New Orleans did that the year LSU beat Clemson. Every other title game in the CFP era has had black endzones. However, I feel confident they will be black for a few reasons. The graphics between the 20 yard lines look crisp and finished. The endzones still have hints of blue from the NFL games. Also, if they were going with plain endzones, they would have outlined the CFP logos to match the one at midfield. Looks like the wordmarks are done but expecting the black backgrounds in the next day or so after the teams practice.
  20. Looks like this is coming true. Not TCU’s best look, in my opinion. Would prefer purple lids and pants or the all white instead of the black.
  21. Saw those this morning but opted not to post them out of fear of bad juju
  22. Red was never in doubt for Georgia, but it is now official. I haven’t seen TCU announce their uniform yet, though I have seen a few Horned Frog fans on social media speculating about wearing black/white/black.
  23. SoFi Stadium is coming together for the natty. Looks like this title game will lean into black and gold. Last year’s had a lot of white. I’m assuming both endzones will be black with Georgia’s wordmark in red and TCU’s in purple. Would expect both to be outlined in white.
  24. Lol. I always thought the butt stripes joke was a bit stupid. I liked the butt stripes when the shirt had a number but it looked a bit goofy when plain. I just wish they could apply full stripes to the back of the shirt because the gold would have zero contrast issues.
  25. Additional photos of the Atlanta 23/24 shirt. Was able to buy this from an online shop in France. Probably my second favorite shirt behind the original five stripes. Interestingly, I thought it simply had two black stripes (from the original leaks), but it looks like depending on sizing, the black stripes would continue towards the sides. I think this was the case with the original, too. I’m curious if there will be other differences between the authentic level shirt. Obviously it will have the star and differences in materials, but sometimes MLS authentics have major differences from the replicas like trim, cuffs, etc.
