  1. For me, I felt like the CR set for the Giants, and the prior LT/Simms set the color rush is replicating, was the definition of a generic football uniform. Literally a basic red, white and blue uniform with a simple GIANTS wordmark across the helmet. I know that's ironic considering their current set is consisting of just a plain blue jersey with white numbering, and a white jersey with red numbering, but with that being paired with the fantastic helmet, logo and the pant combos makes for, IMHO, a quintessential football uniform. It also helps that the current set is essentially a uniform the Giants wore for years prior to the 70's, giving it that old-timey, yesteryear look shared with the other old NFL franchises. And again, I absolutely love the blue dominant at home, with the contrasting red dominant on the road look.
  2. The Cowboys need to standardized their blue and silver (ideally, to the blue and silver graphic oldschool posted above) so that their iconic white uniform actually looks cohesive. But the Giants do not belong in the same distinction as the Cowboys. Their uniform set is phenomenal. I know they're a rival, but I've long loved their blue at home and red on the road set. It's fantastic. Not every team needs to have matching home and away sets with just the colors reversed. The Giants are a perfect example of how that can work beautifully
  3. You know he was enjoying every second of that. Especially as the classy El Tri fans were showering them with beer and trash EDIT: Is this not the sickest picture of USMNT history? I might make this my profile pic.
  4. That was the best US-MEX game in years. Excellent fight from the young USMNT. There's so much potential in this roster, but the defending still needs a lot of work. Tim Ream and Kellen Acosta should never see playing time for USMNT again. They're just not good enough. Berhalter needs to stop demanding we play from the back in that 3-4-3 formation. We just don't have the players on our back line that can make those passes consistently. In WCQ, I hope to god we start putting our best players in their best positions, moreso defensively. Like Ream and Acosta shouldn't be playing when Adams, Dest and Munsah/Weah are available. Hopefully Berhalter can get the most out of this team, because talent wise the USMNT will be there close to, or equal to, to the footballing giants by 2026.
  5. I would have lost it if Pulisic got that chip in. Selfishly, I wish he started but can’t argue with him being a sub considering the result Chelsea got. Hopefully he starts and plays more next season.
  6. I still detest it. It goes against 50 years of Lakers’ history to have the purple jersey with yellow numbers and a white outline. Of course it’s not the abomination that are the black side panels, but that’s another discussion. They need to throw away the whole jersey and start again.
  7. For me, the USMNT is my favorite team in the world. I love them more than any footballing club, even more than LAFC. I’m not the biggest Chelsea fan and to be honest, before Pulisic arrived there, I didn’t even like them at all. But I root for USMNT players above all else and their club success. For example, my two least favorite European teams are Man United and Real Madrid. I generally root for their opponents every game, without fail. But if any American were to play for them, I’d support them in a heart beat lol. With that in mind, I have zero issue supporting Chelsea now lol. I’d dare say that I’ve even become a supporter of theirs now, but it’ll only last so long as Pulisic plays there. As for the Final, I know Steffan plays for City, but he’s a backup and there’s no chance he plays even a second in the Final. So I’d rather see the team that actually prominently features an American win the title.
  8. Another UCL match, another score contribution for Pulisic, this time off the bench. He directly contributed to the two of the three goals Chelsea scored in the semifinals in less than 90 minutes of game time. Unreal. He’s simply sensational. There’s never been an American footballer who was so hyped when he was coming up and then lived up to/surpassed all expectations. He became the youngest player to score a goal and assist in the UCL semifinals in a decade. Not youngest American, but the youngest period. Chelsea as a whole was phenomenal today. Kante especially. He was the best player on the pitch. Defensively they were outstanding while only giving up one true opportunity for Real Madrid to score, which Mendy made an outstanding save. Havertz, I thought had his best game for Chelsea since arriving last summer. He was incredible today. But the front 3 as a whole were stellar in the counterattack and probably should have had a few more goals. At the end of the day, an American footballer will play in the Champions League Final as his team’s best attacking player and as its number 10.
  9. Pulisic just scored against Real Madrid in the semifinals. Should have had an assist earlier had Werner not botched it. Absolutely incredible. The dude is a great player and borderline world class (he will be once he manages to stay healthy). However, for some reason in big games throughout his career he steps it up a few levels and plays not only like the world-class player we all know he is, but he’s usually the best player on the pitch too. He does this consistently. The USMNT has never had a player like that. Ever. Donovan and Dempsey were the previous best USMNT players (excluding keepers) in terms of performing on the big stage in the biggest moments. But Pulisic routinely makes fools of other world-class players when he’s on form.
  10. The Nuggets have made the WCF three times: 1985, 2009 and now 2020. They’ve played the Lakers every time.
  11. I just have four. 2007 Divisional Round loss to the Giants 2014 & 2016 Divisional Round losses to the Packers. And I think the worst one of them all, the USMNT loss to T&T in 2017 to eliminate the US from the World Cup. That last loss changed me forever. I no longer get too happy or too down depending on if my team wins or loses.
  12. Aside from not having conference logos again (shame on you, NFL), this will be the best looking field since 2012, I think.
  13. Blasphemy! Where's the guillotine? Off with your head!
  14. I think they kind of outwitted themselves on this one. You wait all these years to start winning any banners and now you won't acknowledge them because the Lakers share the place? To be fair, they would look pretty stupid next to the Lakers' Championship Banners.
  15. These threads seem to pop up once or twice every year. Now to the bolded quotes. This is what we like to call irony. You hate (strong word, by the way) people who enjoy rooting for teams who they don't have connections to (by connections, I assume you mean local teams and/or teams who have/currently employing family members), yet you admit to have taking a liking to Oregon. Now, would you hate someone who grew up without football in their city and chose to follow the team his father rooted for and happened to play 1,000 miles away? Food for thought.
  16. Is that Thomas Landry as in the Cowboys Legendary Coach, Tom Landry? Yes, as a New York Giant during his days as a player. I know he was a Giant. I just thought how ironic it is that cmm posted a player card of an old Giant player who happens to be the most recognizable Dallas Cowboys figure.
  17. Is that Thomas Landry as in the Cowboys Legendary Coach, Tom Landry?
  18. True, very true, but like I said, use the helmet from that era with the modern unis, and you'll have a beautiful uniform. I hate their new helmet.
  19. I think the Seahawks' Green Jersey is one of the best looking jerseys ever. The only way this uniform would have been better is if they used their white pants with it. Then, it would have been one of the best uniforms ever. Also, I think this is the best the Bills have ever looked. I will add that if the Bills used the helmet from the Oh-God-help-us-not-them-again-Bills era, with their current uniforms, then their current set would be the best in Bills history.
  20. I've been hearing and reading reports that Toronto is going to lose the Raptors. And it looks like Sacramento is getting their act together. I left New Orleans because I can't think of a place they'll move to. Seriously. Plus, moving Toronto but keeping the others allows for a division lay out that makes sense.
  21. In light of the possibility of Seattle getting a new arena and with that, a new basketball team, this is my new NBA. Same division lay out and such. WEST Pacific Division LA Lakers LA Clippers Golden State Phoenix Sacramento Northwest Division Seattle (Toronto's team) Utah Denver Minnesota Portland Southwest Division Oklahoma City Dallas San Antonio New Orleans Houston EAST Central Chicago Detroit Cleveland Indiana Milwaukee Atlantic Boston Philadelphia New York Brooklyn Washington Southeast Miami Orlando Charlotte Atlanta Memphis What do you guys think?
  22. Cowboys - My all-time favorite team, period. (Football is my favorite sport) My dad is a Cowboys fan so naturally I became a fan as well and I've been one for as long as I can remember. Lakers - I'm from Los Angeles and plus if you like basketball growing up in LA, you like the Lakers, not the Clippers (unless you're purposely rebelling just because or your family roots for the Clips.) Raiders - I'm from LA, and I root them because my mom loves the Raiders. I will root for them to win every game, except when they play the Cowboys. Angels & Ducks - Truth be told, none of my family members really like either sport so I never grew up with it, but just through being a sports fan (and a kid once upon a time) I watched those disney movies about the Angels and Mighty Ducks and I became fans of them. Watched both their championship runs, have been to a couple of games but that's about as far as I watch them. LA Galaxy - My two best friends growing up loved soccer, and through them, I grew to love the sport too. So since they're the LA MLS team, I root for them. Newcastle United - This one is a bit strange. I became interested in the club through a movie I watched (and I can't remember the name), plus whenever I played the Manager Mode in FIFA, I always chose Newcastle. So now I watch them whenever I can.

  24. I was watching an English Premier League Game, and the thought came to me... what if the NFL combined with the CFL (Canadian) and the UFL to make two leagues with consistent promotion and relegation between the two. 32 NFL teams + 8 CFL teams + 6 UFL Teams = 46 "New" NFL teams. The 1st season would have the Main league "dubbed the NFL" have 24 teams (Everything based off of 2009 standings for the NFL. CFL and UFL teams automatically put in the 2nd League) AFC East: New England Patriots New York Jets Baltimore Ravens North: Cincinnati Bengals Pittsburgh Steelers Indianapolis Colts South: Houston Texans Tennessee Titans Miami Dolphins West: San Diego Chargers Denver Broncos Oakland Raiders NFC East: Philadelphia Eagles New York Giants Carolina Panthers South: New Orleans Saints Dallas Cowboys Atlanta Falcons North: Minnesota Vikings Green Bay Packers Chicago Bears West: Arizona Cardinals San Francisco 49ers Seattle Seahawks _____________________ 2nd League will be split into two 11-team conferences East: Buffalo Bills Washington Redskins Jacksonville Jaguars Tampa Bay Buccaneers Hamilton Tiger-Cats Toronto Argonauts Montreal Alouettes Winnipeg Blue Bombers Florida Tuskers Hartford Colonials UFL Virginia West: St. Louis Rams Kansas City Chiefs Detroit Lions Cleveland Browns Calgary Stampeders BC Lions Edmonton Eskimos Saskatchewan Roughriders Las Vegas Locomotives Sacramento Mountain Lions Omaha Nighthawks
